Your conversions are really great. I like the fact that the chaos warriors are all individual now. And the knight is ace !

    Keep it up !

Excellent. They really capture the spirit of Chaos Warriors.

Some really cool work here. It reminds me of Jarhead's epic chaos thread here:

Re: MikMatPip's second attempt at maintaining a Plog (mostly Warhammer)

So, here are some pics of the hounds:

Nothing really special about them, since there is so minimal converting. But nonetheless, I think they look good. I'm really glad I chose to use the older hounds instead of the current ones, which are crap if ya ask me.

And here's just a detail from one of my warriors. I looked at the pictures of the warriors I've posted and noticed that a lot of the details I've worked into them don't really show, so I posted this one. It somehow reminds me of the old Realm of Chaos -era figures. Although, the picture is not really that great (weird angle, or something)...

    Hey-o, update time!

So, been a little lazy for the last week or so, but still managed to get some painting on the forsaken/warrior done:

It's about 85% done as it is, but I'm not too sure about the tentacles, so I might have to re-paint them... Also, there are a few details to do and some mistakes to correct, but you can probably get a general idea of how he is going to look.
I really like his face, especially the eyes and the blueish areas around them.

    And thanks for the feedback.

@DarkMark: That's a damn cool-looking army! Although I have to disagree with some of the feel of his army, as it is a little too rag-tag collection of models (I really don't like the usage of other manufacturers' models, for instance, because they look too different from GW's models.), so the uniformity suffers a little as a result.
But this is just my opinion, and I can't say that it didn't look good.
Glad you like the Dog-head ( I named him Wahlborg, after my friend's dog), and yes, I've taken a lot of inspiration from the RoC-era books and models.

ALSO! I've noticed that almost all of my photos have a sort of weird glow around the edges of the mini, like it's not focused or something... Can anyone help me with this? I'm not really a camera expert and I can only use photoshop's basic functions.

The models are looking very crisp, again!

The fuzzy mist-effects might be caused by the white background. How close are the mini's from it when you take the pic?

So much awesome dripping from every model! Am pretty inspired just looking at your pics. You really manage to capture the essence of Chaos.

Looking forward to a shot of the whole army.

@Goat of Yuggoth: Hmmm, pretty close... I'd say about 10-20cm. I always thought that white bg was good for taking photos.

But I tried a different bg, dunno if it's really that much better. I guess I'll have to do some experimenting with different backgrounds tonight.

    Edit:

The experiments are still going on, but I managed to get a few decent looking shots:

The same Forsaken, a little bigger.

The Dog-head, Wahlborg. I really like the shield 'cause I think I did a great job with the weathering and glow-effect, but it's a shame it's the only non-round shield in the unit, so it looks a little out of place...

As for the pictures themselves... Looks a little better doesn't it?

Does look better, although the colors draw too much attention A neutral, dark on the edges and lighter around the center bg is the best to my notice.

Now that I see that Forsaken at a different light/angle, it looks brilliant! The tentacles especially are looking very good. What's your secret?

Cool shield, I lie the glowing face in it. Did you scuplt it yourself or does it originally belong to the shield? And the dog-faced warrior is great

Sorry, I haven't really been that productive during the past... month (it's really been that long already?!).
I had some issues with my personal life, an exam week (which totally wrecked my sleeping rhythm, dammit!) and also The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to keep me occupied, but now that all of them have mostly been dealt with, I can continue my work.

Re: MikMatPip's second attempt at maintaining a Plog (mostly Warhammer)

This is what I've managed to do during the past few days:

Some work on the second Knight. It's not much, but I'm liking it so far. The eye and red "scabs" on the armour are a nice touch. I think they give the armour some colour and a chaos-y feel.

I have painted all of the armour on the rider, but it's mostly just normal metal and not really worth showing separately. You'll see it when the rider is fully completed.

Also, here are some helmets I've converted in the past. Dunno if I'm ever going to use them, but I hope I will.

This one takes a huge load of inspiration from Ian Miller's artwork. I think his style is next to impossible to transfer into a 3D model, but I tried it and like it.

This one also takes inspiration from Miller's work, the picture titled "The Tree of Souls" in Liber Chaotica's Khorne section. I thought the face on the tree was incredibly Khorne-y (although in a somewhat unusual way), so I decided to do a helmet based on it. Originally it was supposed to be the helmet of the Champ of my (future) Chosen unit, but it remains to be seen where I will really use it...

This is nothing special really, as I just cut a Bloodletter's face off and slapped it on a helmet to function as a visor. Still, it looks pretty good.

But thanks for the support, people.
