Hey everyone,
Guess what? It's another log! This time, Blood Axe Orks in the manner of Death Korps of Krieg - hence Da Deff Korps!. Courtesy of the great talent over at Kromlech. I believe Nozeminer is the sculptor, and he has done some seriously cool stuff over on The-Waaagh forums.
And of course, what better way to paint DKoK Orks than with an homage to the main DKoK man himself, Sheep!
So on to the pictures!
First test model using Sheep's (rather easy to replicate with awesome results!) tutorial for painting his autumn Death Korps army.
Khemri Brown basecoat, Solar Macharius Orange and German Camo Dark Brown (Vallejo) patches and dots, Bleached Bone drybrush, Devlan Mud wash, and a second Bleached Bone highlight.
Webbing is Vallejo Flat Earth from the Flames of War range highlighted with a 2:1 drybrush of White to Flat Earth.
Pouches and gaiters are Dheneb Stone washed with Devlan Mud.
Skin is Knarloc Green with a 2:1 highlight Knarloc to Bleached Bone, followed by a Devlan Mud Wash.
Really satisfied with the sculpts coming out of Kromlech, as they sneaked a few of their Orc War 2 heads into my package I ordered. Great quality, and I really can't wait for the range to be expanded.
If I ever get around to doing Orks as a full-blown army again, I'll definitely see what I can do to spice up the regular GW models to match the scheme and feel of the army. Really anxious to see what arms and head options Kromlech release, and if they do Nob/Leader bodies. I'd have to figure out what the greatcoat models would represent....maybe 'Ard Boyz?

a Death Spectres plog
Blood Axes have always been the only Orks for me, and I agree those kromlech bits are awesome. I've been forcing myself not to start a Deff Korps ork army. I mean, really forcing
