I have a couple of questions.

Has the book any SoM spells for the Lore of Hashut?

Is the Lore of Hashut represented in the Magic spinner?

    No, for both questions.

Man, can't wait for the Khemric Titan. If anyone can do it justice, it's Forge World. I mean, Brass Scorpion anyone?

To be fair to the chaos stunties, you could tack them on to another section of the spinner in the same way other army-specific books are tacked on where they sort of thematically fit. Shame they didn't think of this on their own, but it's an easy remedy at least.

As for the rest of the book, it looks pretty great. Lots of cool monsters of the "holy crap that's really different" variety, and not just "run in a straight line and smash things". The fantastic artwork, extra scenarios, magic items and even a narrative campaign are really cool too. Simply put, I love how FW is doing their Fantasy books.

Might get hold of a Magma Dragon if its a decent model but hopefully not Emperor scale as I dont think my budget can stretch to that atm.

I emailed FW on this issue and they said to count it as Dark Magic as far as the spinner is concerned.

But no cataclysmic spells, sadly... Although it'd be easy to house rule it so lore of Hashut users have access to the dark magic cataclysm spells. It'd be neat if it appeared in one of their FAQs, although Storm of Magic isn't exactly something you break out for an average game with strangers. Of course, it'd be even better if they designed three cataclysm spells for the lore of Hashut and had rules for them available on their website.

Thanks for the image... Though that looks terribly uninspired and static . A pity.

Aww, look at the chubby little dragon!

Okay, the chubbiness might be an optical illusion due to the busy background, but aww, he's so cute!

This is one of the cases where I'd rather not seen the WIP picture... pretty uninspiring to be honest. I hope the final model is just as spectacular as the other MA-releases so far.

Yeah. Maybe it's the pic, but my first reaction was thinking "that's terrible".

Isn't Lore of Hashut very similar to Lore of Fire? Maybe it should have those cataclysm spells and use Lore of Fire's section of the spinner?

Nope, you have to pound out runes like your goody goody cousins!

I agree with you, all their spells are about fire, ash storms and Magma. Why would forgeworld suggest they're more akin to 'dark' magic? They use fire and they're 'chaos' dwarves, seems like dark magic would be a bit lower on the list, but, whatever.

I always thought it would be cool if you played the Chaos dwarves in SoM and took Demon allies, that as one of your spells you could Fuse them with your enemies artillery and war machines. That and if they get an epic miscast they'd just turn to stone instantly, rendering them useless, but making the arcane fulcrum they're on quite a bit more powerful.

If I remember correctly the Liber Chaotica refers to dwarven runesmithing as a form of high magic, and if that is the case it would make sense that chaos dwarf magic/smithing would be derived from dark magic.

I would hazard a guess that as the Lores of Hashut and Fire are *so* complementary that the two are often taken together (Sorcerer Prophet with Hashut and Daemonsmith with Fire) that if they were on the same point on the spinner that magic phase would be just too much.
