    Lamby's Bad Moonz

A project started over a year ago, these Orks were designed to be foes for my true-scale Astartes (now the Ironclad).

    Ork WIP pics:

    Blorks to 'Ard Boyz...

Blork to Warboss - meet Boss Meat!
(Inspired by the Uncle Meat sculpture vid tutorials from Miniature Mentor.)
He's been shaved at the front to make room for his weapon.
Yet to receive GS to fix the leg and headkicker stompy boot conversions.

Boss Meat with new arms blue-tacked in place.
Upper arms from the Ork Nob two-handed chain weapon.
Forearms from various Blork arms, sans weaponry
He's going to be holding a monstrous chain saw weapon which will hide the shave job on the armour, and bigger shoulder plates to bulk him out side ways.

There's a fourth Blork but he's in surgery at the moment - his name is Spart-Ork and soon you'll see why.

With the Blorks I'll be using smaller heads, mostly Storm Boyz - (tip of the hat to Migsula for the idea.)

    Boss Meat WIP:
    - Head-stomperised the boots - they might need Ork-teeth on them?
    - greenstuffed the Nob legs at the hips + attempted sculpting chain mail - it will mostly be hidden by his chain saw weapon

Sweet conversion and green stuff work.
These guys are looking real mean and choppy.
Would hate to see these guys pile out of a battlewagon if I was playing you

Still deployed for another few weeks, but finally have some wifi.

(Old) update on Da Boss Meat:

    - GS sculpted a meat-worker style apron over armour front
    - blue-tacked arms into position - does he need bigger armour pads?
    - scratch-built chainsaw engine - is it orky enough?
    - notice 2 different blades - which one is better, tapered (shorter one in upper right pic) or fat longer one?
    - also noticed just how far out the neck on a blork protrudes - that neck is for some choppin'!

Here's more on the base - second layer of Adeptus Grey with some Regal Blue in it over salt and hairspray (chipping effect hopefully):

And here's the result after a light shade of codex grey and then toothbrush scrubbing to remove salt:

    Bases and display board integrated:

    Bases separate:

    And close ups:

Still more to do, but pretty happy with the result so far.

I've always had a soft spot for orks, I am loving your models, the poses are great, really like "spart", oh and the bases you have produced are fantastic, did you seva pigment for the rust effects?

The effect is achieved using salt, hairspray and a spray gun.
Perhaps the best example of this is a series of videos by Luca, available from Miniature Mentor - the weathering on his mech is simply amazing!

PIP - a white 'zenithal' spray and then 'shadow' spray from underneath with the same Adeptus Grey/Regal Blue mix used on the base.

Next step will be to base coat the armour plates...
