Fanatical elves, a Retribution of Scyrah paint log!

Hello everyone!
Some guys at the local gaming club recently started playing Warmachine, and after a demo game I was completely hooked!
I'd seen the Retribution of Scyrah models before, when browsing the web for random models, and I liked them back then when I first saw them, so the choice of faction was easy.
I've played Warhammer for a long time, but I've never gotten an army since painting large amounts of near-identical infantry is very boring. I hope the smaller scale of Warmachine plus the fact that the game is so much fun to play will help contribute to me actually finishing an army for it.

There's an upcoming 25-point tournament for our club members this Saturday, and my goal is to get at least most of my force painted for that.

The list I'm using is this:

Adeptis Rahn (+6)
Phoenix (-10)
Griffon (-4)
Dawnguard invictors (min) (-6)
+UA (-2)
Stormfall archers (-5)
2x Ghost snipers (-2 x2)

So far I've painted the Griffon and the Stormfall archers, and I've primed and just started on the Ghost snipers.

Here's a couple of hastily taken pictures of my Stormfall archers, I've got a club member who has promised to take some better photos on wednesday when I'm going to teach him the game.
The bases are not completely finished, I'm going to order some Autumn and Winter leaf scatter from Skullcrafts to sprinkle on, giving the ground a "dusky" feel (or at least that's the intention ).

Yeah I noticed it when you pointed it out, so I've now touched it up with an additional highlight stage on the edges.

The faces are just elf flesh washed with ogryn flesh and then highlighted again with elf flesh.

What did you get, if I may ask?

On the painting front I haven't done very much I'm afraid, I've basecoated the rest of the force listed in the first post, done the metals on the Phoenix and the green coats on the Ghost snipers. On a more positive note I managed to win the 25 point tournament I talked about, so that was really nice.

I got the Retribution book along with a Shyeel magister and some stormfall archers. Not too sure what to get next but was thinking of getting Kaelyssa as my warcaster and a mage hunter strike force (mainly because the models are sweet, I have no clue how effective they are). Got any other suggestions?

You should get at least one warjack, since every warcaster have "warjack points", which are basically free points that you can only spend on warjacks. Other than that it sounds like a good starter, I just got hold of some Mage hunters myself, so really looking forward to playing with those.

Glad to hear you won the tournament Falkman! I will also be picking up som ogryn flesh next time I am at my LGS as all i have that is close is devlan mud.

@sasheep: I do not know too much about Retribution except that the Mage Hunter Assassin looks awesome!

All right, update time again!
We had another one of those local tournaments last saturday, and having promised to paint the Phoenix for that occasion, I sat down on friday evening and figured "hey, I might as well paint Vyros then!". Maybe not the best of ideas since I only got one hour of sleep that night, but at least I now got enough painted stuff to field a fully painted 15 point army.
This marks the first time in my 11 year long miniature gaming career that I can actually field a legal army that is fully painted by myself, so I'm really happy about that!
