Hi everyone, it's time for yet another blog by me! No 40k this time though, just good old fantasy! When I first started painting and collecting GW stuff way back in '99 the first box I ever bought was a box of the old Black Orcs(remember them?), some cutting, glueing(and swearing) and painting later I was hooked. During the years I think I've painted at least one mini from every fantasy army, but my main focus always lay on Orcs and Empire, and later Chaos. I did have a couple of 'complete' fantasy armies back in the day, but they were either sold or ended up in my bitz box back in '03-'04. Since then I've only been collecting 40k stuff. But now it's time, time to get back in the game(the game of Warhammer Fantasy Battles that is) again!
I've already bought some Chaos stuff and also painted my first regiment of the 'new' Warriors(I've only painted the ugly old ones in the past), and I must say that I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out(pics in post #2). The unit is 99% finished, I'm just going to add a champion based on the Crom model and 3 more warriors and then they're good to go.
I'm also working on some Chaos Ogres, Marauders and Knights - pics will follow.
I've always been intrigued by the short story "The Were of Fjirgard" from the old Hordes of Chaos book. When I first read it way back in '02 or '03 I thought it would be great to have a werewolf-like Spawn in my army. But I never got around to actually convert a figure. I've never even bought a Spawn box set. Other armies, projects and real life stuff came in the way and I slowly forgot the whole Were-idea.
For those of you that don't know, this is the 'Were of Fjirgard', very werewolf-like but with some deamonic features(mainly the face IMO);
Anyway, as I said I've had this idea in mind for years, but I've never found a suitable figure. Until now.
And by combining the body of a DE Clawed Fiend with a Minoutar's head I think I got the look I was going for. I've also added some jewelry since I took this pic.
And here's a WIP shot of my Champion or Lord, I haven't decided which head I'll use yet though.
