A whole lotta Ogres in not a lotta clothes: Confessor Atol's 2011-2012 PLOG

With the release of the new ogre book and the well timed start of a new TOFP, I've decided to turn my mostly unpainted Ogre Kingdoms army into a propper 8th ed hoard monster!



Here is the first half of my first unit of bulls. Sorry about the washed out photos. IRL, they aren't so blue. I included a picture of an Irongut I made from the left over mornfang cav bits because I was curious about how well it would work. Also here's a shot of the storn horn next to two dwarves....This thing is big......

Nice aesthetic. Very grim. Are the bases done? I know the rims aren't finished, but the rocks? They could look good that color, with just the rims touched up.

@mdiscala- yeah, the bases aren't done yet. I wanted to have something to post for TOFP. I think I'm going with snow, tree limbs, and icicles.

Some great work here. Love the rust on the weapons and the colouring of the blonde beards. The Mournfang looks fantastic so far - I say go with some go-faster stripes!

Busy month, but I've still managed to get some hobby done. I really didn't expect these models to be as complicated as they were, but there is a ton of different metals and other details on these models. I'm still considering the choice between stripes and no stripes on the mornfangs themselfex.

Love those Mournfangs. The orange sets off the darker tones of the ogres nicely. I too am curious about the bases!

The bases are made from something like this. If you order it offline, make sure you get the 1/4 inch thick kind.

Then I just paint it that dark (astronomicon) foundation grey, and mix up with a little white and dry brush it until I like the texture.
