What inspirational nurgle you have going on here. Being a tzeentch purist for as long as I remember, I recently added the Nurgle lord to my collection and nurgle manages to fester its self into my list. You have done a fantastic job of him. Really impressive.

Thanks mate. I am happy with result, I tried it with just ghouls but they looked too small and really weird the 2nd attempt seems a lot more, errm, daemonic?

Thanks, the bloodletter arms are far too muscular so I just couldn't see it working, using the ghouls as well doubles the price of each plague bearer to £3.80 a model and makes them more expensive than the metal one but hell they are pretty much multi posable and fairly unique. In respect of the eye, that was intentional to give me a decent area for freehanding a creepy looking eye like I did on my Great Unclean One for UKGD this year.

It was definately squeaky bum time when I was hacking large chunks of pewter off the model on Friday night I purchased the sorcerer at Gamesday 2010 with this particular project in mind.

Don't be afraid to voice your opinions mate. As mentioned previously the eyes are slightly larger to enable me to have a nice decent area to paint some nice freehand much like my Great Unclean One, merely trying to make my life easier They are a mix of bloodletters, ghouls and skeletons, oh and a little bit of greenstuff.

May I ask how much of the Nurgle character was done with an airbrush? Are you mostly using glazing techniques when you use the brush? Thanks in advance.

thanks mate, I accept no liability if you succumb to GW and their outragous prices :P In respect of the Nurgle Lord a mighty 0% was done with an airbrush, its all with a regular brush with bristles and I use a mixture of glazing and wetblending mate.

As promised

Skin was basecoated using Reaper Master Series High Density (RMSHD) Mossy Green. It was then glazed with Reaper Master Series (RMS) Buckskin Pale over nearly the entire skin other than the deep cracks a couple of times until the green started to fade as to not be too over powering. I then layered up the skin with progressive layers of RMS Rosey Shadow, RMS Rosey Highlight, RMS Fair Highlight, RMS Linen White all at a glaze consistency. I made a shade glaze of RMSHD Mossy Green, RMS Rose Shadow and RMS Black which gave a strange greeny grey mess which was painted into recesses etc to define them a little more.

no I threw him in the bin on Saturday when I did the bloodletter version a there was no future for him in my life....and no I am not going through a week's worth of rubbish for anyone

Wow, that warshrine is sweet, great GS work on the whole thing! Never thought about using ghouls as plague bearers, they look brilliant, well executed, can't wait to see this painted in your style!
