A flag could definitely work. I can imagine the army just having sacked and razed a Kislev town, when the general looks behind him, sees that rotten giant standing behind him scratching himself being completely naked, and the general says "For the love of Nurgle, cover yourself up man!", then looking around, noticing a dead standard bearer and asking one of the warriors to go get that flag so the giant can cover himself up.

Sorry I have been absent recently have had some problems in life that have not allowed for much painting. But I won't bore you with that.

But i am back on the horse.

recent work done, metallics on the cannon, maggots, rusty metals on the rings and back disc, skulls on the back disc, the ropes, repainted the horn, repainted the exposed skull, and started work on the tattered flag/loin cloth, which I think is ready for weathering

Some astounding work in this log, that nurgle e'ttin is just beautiful, love the skin tones and the conversion work. The painting on the veins is just baffling tbh, amazing but baffling.

I managed to place 2nd in fantasy monster at Salute last weekend, which was my first "silverware" long my it continue

So i have got to the point on the giant that i can progress no further on him until he is on the base, partly because i have nothing to hold on to and partly because there will be thing dangling and obviously i will need to assess the gravity to get it perfect

So i have started the base

What an amazing and inpiring thread! The paint on the giant is just sick , and the veins looks horribly real!!!

It Had niggled me slightly that the cannon was too clean but assumed you had yet to get round to that part, but having had the oppurtunity to see him in the flesh and with the base, i'll wait paitently. Seriously good work and thanks for vein tutorial determined to use that

@nagged - Well i want the cannon to be fairly clean, maybe a little mussle scorching so that it fits in with the narative of the piece, but then all the pervious pictures are of just the giant with no reference to the rest of it, see I am at an advantage in that I have a completed model in my mind pal

Great progress, but while the tree looks right, the wooden barrels and gun carriage looks brown instead of wooden (a classic miniature painting mistake). Some grey-green tones in the brown would help, as well as wood grains!

Other than that, this is one bloody sweet piece of a rotten monster.
