Skitarii Strike Force of Gryphonne IV

    Hi there!

Finally I started working on the rest of my AM force as up to date all I had thereof where the Knight Paladins.
    Link: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21409

I’m using the Lost And The Damned list from Codex Eye of Terror to proxy my Tech Guard as it allows for tons of cool conversions and “count as” troop types.

First to exit the halls of the manufactorium are two heavy weapon platforms and a sentinel.
Those guys are no servitors but the heavy weapon troopers I forgot the title of. Anyway, they got fused with the gun but otherwise are "normal" tech guard soldiers. If they will each count as one model or a weapon team I don’t know yet. They will be deployed along with a squad of tech guard infantry. (pic 1)

As I used the cockpits of the Sentinels on the Knights and only had the legs to play with I wanted to do something special.
Opening warseer to show you the buddy, the first thing I do see is Yhodrin’s post with his ogryn on tracks. Why is everybody faster than me?
Very well then, I'll show it to you anyway.

In the first picture he looks a little bit squat but as you can see in the second he’s got some proper size. Next to it the one and only finished Skitarii up to date.

Last but not least a group shot of the first three "small size" conversions for my new army.

    Hope you like them.

    Cheers,
    Mato Noupa

Excellent stuff, Mato! I'm very excited about seeing this army develop. The Praetorians are incredible!

This could be an Ad-Mech army to beat even Hortwerth's... (ooh, controversial! )

Those are from FW. Some IG tank bomb, like the Goliath in WWII.
Simple to convert but expensive. But I want to get a special army that's taking time to build and decided to shell out the money for some FW goodies.

@ all: Have a nice Easter holiday by the way!!

    Kick ass.

I love the "ogrinel", going to be a Big Mutant I take it? Heavy weapon troopers are known as Sagitarii, but Im probably spelling it wrong, heh. What did you use for the front of the Big Mutant's belly?

    Cant wait to see more.

I believe the ones you're describing are Praetorians, but I'd have to go back and check to be sure.

Awesome models though, can't wait to see more.

Yep, that's right, Praetorians are basically big Combat Servitors...

Re: Skitarii Strike Force of Gryphonne IV

Thanks for all the great comments guys.
But be warned: Hobby projects can take some time with me... those following the Knight project know about the breaks I take.

@Yodhrin: Yep! Sagitarii is what they are. Soldiers fused to the heavy weapon.

I always thought that Praetorians where no servitors, they are more akin to Space Marines, although they have been tampered with when fully grown and with lots of bionic bits.
The "Ogrinel" isn't a Praetorian either, they will follow at some time.
I'm thinking along the lines of cataphractarii, machine crews of the Skitarii.
The plan is to use 4, 3 of those and some walking machine with a Techpriest but that's just an idea so far.

The "belly plate" is a Tau Drone, the idea is from a local friend I have to admit and it really worked well. The skull is cast after the FW Inq Signs one. It's a bit big though and I only used it because the one I wanted to use got lost during modeling.

    Now I'm going to sleep.

The layered shoulder pads on the kasrkin looks great... I love that idea I have 110 Kasrkin though, no way I'm doing that 220 times

Re: Skitarii Strike Force of Gryphonne IV

@Jericho: Easy thing. The idea is from The Hoff I'm borrowing where I can.
It's a tube cut in half and a small strip of plasticard attached with superglue after dremeling away the upper part of the shoulder guard. Quick 'n' easy.

    Wow.
I might "borrow" the "ogrinel" idea.
    Looking forward to seeing more.

Look, another extremely talented GSer going for a skitarii force!

I like it a lot. Very, very nice use of the OK models there.
