Thread: Warhammer 40k Christmas Deals

  1. #21

    Re: Warhammer 40k Christmas Deals

Only just gotten back into Warhammer after a 10 year hiatus, don't currently have any figures and have been quietly checking out the model range for both fantasy and 40k (the models nowadays are just amazing) and by crikey that Dark Eldar deal is mighty tempting, ALL of the figures are just superb!

If it's confirmed we can get up to a 20% discount on it then I'm totally sold!

Friends who are starting up with Warhammer all prefer fantasy though, so it looks like I might have some persuading to do!

So, what is it in American dollars? I know I can get the real conversion with Google, but it's not like GW uses the real conversion.

    Re: Warhammer 40k Christmas Deals

So is it comfirmed that these deals will be in local discount game shops???

I'd love it if more deals were release - even if they were not as good value - any extra saving one can have the opportunity to make is fine with us eh guys

I know Space marines are the omnipresent army/intrest/subject from GW but why DE??

Do you think they chose Dark Eldar because (according to several recent posts i've read on here) they have not sold as well as expected and thus are trying to garner new DE players with this deal as well as shifting some stock???

    Many thanks

    Nate.

Anyone else noticed that the 2nd Tac Squad next to the Redeemer on the box art for the Marine pack isn't 5th legal (and it is a Tac, not dev squad, they cant take regular special weapons) .. Has a Flamer, Melta and a lascannon .. that's an extra special weapon :P

If you notice, most of the DE box is first wave models, barring the venom and scourges. DE are rather popular models, so this box provides both a nice core for new players, and a bonus for vets planning to expand the force.

Why DE? They have a large mix of models in plastic making for an interesting box set. Marines see the same, with a large mix of newer kits as well.

The choice is likely because they are popular, not because they are unpopular.

I've heard from a store manager that DE are outselling Space Marines locally (first time ever) and that nationally DE are selling extraordinarily well, in 2nd or 3rd spot. So that is probably one reason.

Well, they are very nice models with good rules and a lower price per box/unit than many other armies.

Its a shame they didn't put a Talos in, and drop a box of Reavers. Six jetbikes is plenty, and adding the Talos, IMO, would've sweeted the pot nicely.
