Your Imperial Fist is quite striking. I'd love to see how that one might turn out if you were to work on it more.

New blogpost; http://studiocolrouphobia.net/2012/0...twork-and-wip/
Has a full illustration and a WiP in it.
Showing the full art here, because I feel the WiP need the explaining you can find in the blog accompanying it...

Enjoy!
Ha haaa, that Lego Space Marine is awesome, great job. Liking the Ravenguard very cool. The whole background is amazing, very well done and atmospheric.
Angron's hobbies include crochet and flower pressing - but he does them with barbed wire and his face, respectively.
How does it stay in the air? Oh, it's powered by pure handwavium
Quick, let me take my (Mat) Ward save!

Glad you like, yeah but you can understand why I thought it best to be seen "in context" so to speak, right?
The background was the easiest, really no work to that one in comparison because it's a matter of hinting at things without really painting them out, but it was definitely done for the mood so Glad you like!
Please do, and when done, let me know, post it in this topic even. I like seeing conversions I inspird to. The art drives the hobby![]()
Although the artwork is quite good, I'm confused by why a Raven Guard Space Marine is present at the Feast of Blades, an event that is celebrated only by the Imperial Fists and their successors?
My 40k/Writing/Review blog - Sons of Corax Full list of my novel, comics, and audio drama reviews - Reviews. New review is for Baneblade by Guy Haley.
My current fiction projects - Dharmayoddha, an Indian-mythology inspired urban fantasy set in Mumbai, India; Hammer of Shadows - a Euro-medieval epic fantasy with knights, gladiators and ancient relics; Cloak of Secrecy - a Norse-mythology inspired space opera.
This is a commission, client put the specs up and one of the things in the brief was that the Raven Guard participate in the ceremony/event. It was also asked for by the client to have a Raven Guard as the victor.
My own investigation has not revealed that this is an exclusive Dorn-successors event, only that it is a Dorn-and-successors-INITIATED event. Though I am not always on top of every single fact, this made me not question the validity of the Raven Guard's appearance.
I have gotten a lot of response to this on various places, but in the end it comes down to this:
If a client asks for it and it does not compromise my artistic integrity, then I will paint it.![]()
How about a little something new?
Fantasy Flight Games sent me the contributors copy of Hand of Corruption, which mean I can show the images I illustrated for it.

I'm loving your work and can already see the progress happening. I absolutely adore the roughness of your speedpaintings and eventhough I like your finished pieces, I think it would really make them more vibrant if you let that roughness shine through a bit and stayed away from the softbrush a bit more. But that's just presonal preference, I guess.
Very funny Scotty... Now beam down my clothes.

Thanks Althwen, that is one of the best critiques I have ever read. Polite and to th point, without being overly apologetic whilst adressing an issue I have.
Now to try to make it happend (which is the difficult part :/ )
I have worked hard to get to a certain finish. Keeping the roughness is difficult because the finish demands so much. But I will double my efforts to try.
Thank you.
So here is a long awaited update to the blog. Got some stuff in there of interest, but since it's been a while I'm going to spoil one of the images right here.

Your stuff is really good! Especially like the "quick sketch" for some reason, probably because it shows you're skilled even without unlimited time and redos (the blessings of the machine spirit...).
Looking forward to more,

Stunning work again. Will you ever be doing a step-by-step/tutorial/set of images showing how you start and end a piece of work? Id dearly love to see that.
