I dont see any of those as minitures board games. I first thought you were talking about games like:
Space Hulk
Horus Herasy by FFG
Puppet Wars
Thise games use "classic" minitures in a traditional boardgame setting.
Just my thoughts

I assume you're not counting historicals since you're posting in this forum.
Battletech should certainly be there, probably at least one of the Spartan Games series and maybe Mallifaux.
based on current rule sets, not all time, here is my list:
1. Warmachine
2. Hordes (yes they are separate games even if they can be played together
3. Warhammer Fantasy Battles
4. Battletech
5. Warhammer 40,000
6. Malifaux
7. Firestorm Armada
8. Flames of War
9. Blood Bowl (only so low due to lack of support)
Fantasy just lost out to Hordes due to 8th Edition's over-relyance on uber spells and massive units. 40k is so low because of my severe dislike of 5th Edition.
In terms of what I like to play/like as a rules-set/like the minis:
1. Infinity
2. Gruntz
3. Spartan Games x 3
4. Malifaux
5. 40k
Not playing a lot of different games at the moment...

The top 3 are interchangeable
1. Malifaux
2. Hordes
3. Infinity
4. Eden
5. Warmachine
6. Dystopian Wars
7. Uncharted seas
8. Gears of War the board game
9. Dark-Age
10. 40k
It's a shame but I only get to play the top 4 with any regularity.
I don't know that I've played 10 different ones, but I do like:
Impetus (ancient/medieval)
Blood Bowl
Mordheim
Battlefleet Gothic
My group's planning to start Legends of the Old West this winter, so we'll see how that goes. As a backup, I also have Rules with No Name (another Old West ruleset). I also have some gladiator games (Familia Gladiatoria and Glory in the Arena, if you're interested) I want to try out; I'm planning on getting models for that soon. I like age of sail games as well, but I haven't found a single game to be my go-to for that period.
For ancients or medieval, I really like Impetus a lot. I've played WAB, but don't like it quite as much. I haven't tried Hail Caesar, Field of Glory or DBX, and probably won't since no one in my area plays them. Now I just need to finish painting all those bloody celts and Romans...
In no particular order,
Infinity,
MERCS,
Heavy Gear Blitz,
Necromunda,
Blood Bowl,
In The Emperor's Name!
At least, those are the games I've played in the last year or so, which is as good a yardstick for "favourite" as any.
Minigiant you need to play more games - 7 of your ten are GW games
Malifauxs my currently love by miles. I also loved ACTA's for awhile as its really fluid so something else in that vein would be fun. Inquisitor again has a lot of flexability although it can sometimes be a little be too much.

So is this supposed to be personal lists, the best sellers, the best designed, or... ?
As far as my personal list goes, in no perticular order:
Warmaster
Epic 40K
SuperSystem
The Lord of the Rings
Necromunda
Man O War
Warhammer Fantasy
Blood Bowl
Warlord
Song of Blades and Heroes
Im guessing, based on the op's list and everyone elses its supposed to be a list of:
Tabletop wargames rulesets: your favourites.
1) Blackpowder (Can I list this as the top three, co I play 3 different versions of it, one of which involves daleks? )
2 (or 4) )Flames of War
5 (or 3) )Wings of War
6) Hail Caeser!
7) some naval combat rules by some bloke I met at Gamecon, dont think they have a name...

I was kinda excited about reading this post because I was hoping to read about some obscure rule sets...
Hmmm... My Top 5 would be...
1. Chronopia
2. Warhammer Fantasy
3. Warzone
4. Void 1.1 (I have not read/played Urban War)
5. Crucible
Sadly I have not yet played a game of 40K, Flames of War or Field of Glory. If I had then I could have made a top 10...
I would like to give Warlord and Song of Blades and Heroes a shot sometime, I think the Draconic Reptus look great.
SuperSystem... hmmm what is that... Google time...

Well, on my list of "things I'm excited about" are:
Carnevale (A skirmish game set in a fantasy 18th century Venice - think of the Doctor who episode The Vampires of Venice but without the Scifi trappings).
Warlord Games' new witch hunter skirmish rules.
Tomorrow's War.
A Call To Arms - Starfleet Battles.
Song of Blades and Heroes is a fun game, but I find it a little too simple for my taste.
I've been keen on playing Warzone for ages but it's hard to find a copy of the rules. I know, I can buy the starter set from Prince August, but I don't need all the minis.
Warlord stands out in my mind as a game with some really interesting ideas, and it improved alot in 2nd ed. Seems like Reaper are more invested in updating it recently; they just put out a Halfling army list. Also - the minis are GORGEOUS.
Song of Blades and Heroes is, as has been said, a bit on the simple side. But it makes a nice refreshing change after playing something much more complicated (I'm looking at you, Man O War!) and a game can be completed very quickly.
SuperSystem is, quite simply, the perfect superhero wargame.![]()

Sorry...
I think you have raised a valuable topic, I only meant to poke a little fun.
Edit time...
Warzone is great. 1st ed is extremly unbalanced but alot of fun.
2nd is too balanced, with the exception of the 2 army books released after the main book.
3rd ed I never played, but the main book is very intimidating.
I watched the demo vids of Reaper Warlord and apart from no 'unit coherency' I liked what I saw.
Well I have the 1st ed Warzone BRB, plus the rulebook and background book for 2nd ed. Would you reccomend trying to get forces books for 1st or 2nd ed?
Hmm, just 10? Damn this will be hard.
1) Infinity: The most refreshing ruleset I've played in years. A lot of interesting tactics fit in to its game space. This is the game I would choose to bring to a desert island because play is so varied.
2) Ultimate Warzone: It mixes the awesome fluff of the 1st Edition with the Balance of 2nd and it does it all in one book. If I could only bring one book with me to the desert island then I would drop Infinity (which has one expansion) in favour of this puppy. The environmental rules are also the coolest bits of genre emulation (pulpy planetary romance) I have ever seen in a game.
3) Stargrunt II: This guy gets in here because it is the grand daddy that really set the stage for the current 15mm Renaissance. It has an awesome morale system as well and it is the standard by which I judge all new generic 28mm/15mm games on the market.
4) Battletech: This one is a classic through and through. A setting more expansive and fleshed out than anything else on the market (possibly even including 40k if only because it advances over time). Its clunky system is also still very cathartic and visceral. No matter what you always get some interesting games out of it.
5) Heavy Gear Blitz: If BT has the most expansive setting then this game has the most well thought-out and in depth one. Their ability to take the world of Terra Nova and bring it to life with all the depth and intrigue it had is still staggering. It is a real masterpiece in terms of world building.
6) Tomorrow's War: The spiritual successor of Stargrunt II in many ways and it is full of additions and improvements on its spiritual liege (to use a Wardian term). It doesn't supplant it though if only because SGII is still such an iconic game to me (even if I would prefer to play TW).
7) Warmachine/Hordes: A bright and vibrant non-standard fantasy setting mixing steampunk with high fantasy in a way that is entirely awesome. It is also a hallmark in terms of army balance that few games can rival. And it also manages to capture a bit of Battletech's visceral feel with the way jacks are handled (but without bogging down too much). Overall a superb setting and game in one.
8) Warhammer 40,000 2nd Edition: My first love in wargaming, it isn't the best system and bits of the setting could be silly, but all my best war stories and anecdotes are from this game. No 40k game since has captured the soul of the 40k setting as well as this one.
9) MERCS: This was close between 2nd Edition and this one but 40k won out because I still has a soft spot for it. This game however was probably one of the biggest surprises in the last little while. The movement system and interesting damage system make for a really interesting interplay of maneuver and small unit tactics. The setting is also a very interesting mix of cyberpunk and Cold War-era intrigue.
10) Void: This one was always a favourite for me because it was basically a streamlined combination of Warzone and Warhammer 40k rules but with a setting that lacked almost any pretenses of grimdark (something I feel got lost a little in the translation to Urban War). The army of robots and cyborgs weren't evil and corrupt, they came from a wonderful transhumanist utopia. The gruff space marines weren't base brutes, they were ecologists and naturalists who got on well with their natural environments. Unlike Warzone or 40k where everyone was basically a dick you could find something to like about each faction without having to look past a bunch of nastiness. I really miss the setting as it originally was back in the i-Kore day.
IMO, there is no much thing as the best but certain games interest me more than others. These include:
1. Reaper Warlord - The amount of choices is unbelievable. 19 fractions to choose from with different strategies in each. They are relatively balanced to each other at 1000 pts. Rules are simple to learn. You cannot find another system like that.
2. Battletech - 4 mechs will last you almost forever. They should make an ipad application for it so that people can play anytime and anywhere.
3. Ex illis - Believe me. This is a game of the future but is not yet ready for today's world. Anyone form 5 to 99 years can jump in and play right away. Don't call yourself a gamer if you have not tried it.
4. Legions of steel - A better version of space hulk
5. Space Hulk - mainly because you can find LoS anymore and no one to play with.
6. Blood Bowl - All time favorite. If GW wants to pull another stunt, this will be the next limited edition but not with a mixed team please.
7. Wings of War - simpe and fun. Besides, miniatures come pre-painted.
8. Helldorado - The minis are nicely made but not as complicated as those in Confrontation. 200 pts is the max. That is it.
9. Urban War - Back into my interest due to the new 2nd edition. Besides, I don't have time to try other great games like Infinity or Maulifaux.
10. Flames of War - mainly due to the historial background. Last due to the IGOUGO game play.
The IGOUGO system is really out of date and should be changed. I never understand why people still like 40K or WHFB. They suck big time. Besides, no matter how hard you try, the fraction will never balance against each other. There are so many upgrades, spells, equipment and special rules to consider. Size is never fixed. Worst of all, your well painted miniatures will be outdated in a few years. How many versions of Necrons and Orks are there? With the exception of Battletech and FoW, I can finish a few game before you get through your set up and turn 1 of 40K/WHFB.
If you can list 10 favourites then you have too much spare time lol![]()
