In addition to creating a chapter, a few of those involved in the Battle Barge project have opted to create a Space Marine fleet to match.

Anyone interested in donating a ship should post on this thread.

Those donating ships will also have the honour of naming them.

Now, now..... we're not all like that! (At least not all of the time! )

I have all manner of BFG goodies to spare, including a fair number of Strike Cruiser parts. I'll be happy to donate a Strike Cruiser to the Warseers Chapter Fleet.

A Battle Barge will be somewhat less easy..... but not impossible, if desired.

Question: would you prefer completely "stock" SM ship designs, or will modified versions be acceptable?

As one of the mentioned few who have opted to crete this fleet, I'll be offering a barge and a sword frigate.

Given the scope of the conversions in the rank and file, my guess would be nmodified. Ultimately it's up to chapter leadership though.

With our spacefaring backround, some support ships might be in order too.

Well, that's the 'only one battle barge suggestion' shot to hell.
Put me down for a strike cruiser, pending confirmation that I can get my hands on one.

The Warseers could easily have more than one battle barge.... and probably should, particularly if we are a completely spaceborne Chapter.

Background from the Battlefleet Gothic game says most Chapters have two or three of them, while other background shows Chapters with quite a few more than that (ref. Ultramarines).

A BFG game-legal fleet can have up to three battle barges, and as many as ten strike cruisers.

So, two barges so far, a posible strike cruiser, a sword frigate, and a space-borne armory(the first of many such support ships I'll be creating, for show purposes only). Off to a good start.

Add to this I came across eight cobras I can spare. The glory of a chapter is
at stake, and no effort is too much.

@Inq. Samos: I haven't got a problem with more than one battle barge, hence the emoticons.

When Tanith was the only one submitting a BB we were tossing around the idea of only having one so it would be THE battle barge, that's all. The fluff suggests that a chapter typically has two BBs and if you have three you're doing pretty well (3rd ed marine codex says Ultras have 3). So it didn't seem like much of a stretch for a chapter that is meant to be under strength to only have one.

Anyway, that's irrelevant - we have two battle barges. May the light of the Emperor guide their course.

I'd be happy to provide a third Battle barge If it's not needed, I can send a Strike Cruiser instead. In any case, I'd prefer my ship to be assigned to the Wastoids if possible.

Apologies, Oxford; I tend to be more serious than called for when discussing the fleets of the Adeptus Astartes, I admit.

The Ultramarine background I was referencing is a sometimes much-maligned article from an issue of BFG Magazine that names five battle barges in their service... including the controversial Seditio Opprimere.

Ultramarines have a vastly superior supply than we do, we are a fleet based chapter who has suffered in the region of 65%-80% losses, almost all of our tech marines are dedicated to keeping the ships we have online, there will not be any new ones built for a while.

This forum is called The Battlebarge, not A Battlebarge, until we have significantly recovered our numbers, we're stuck with the one.

Well I have a Scratch built thunderhawk that ill donate to 3rd company. If that will work. It isnt great but its not painted and its built. Just a suggestion but it is for 40k not BFG. and ill donate anything you guys need fro BGF
