Thanks very much bud; I'd highly recommend one, even if it's just to save you time base-coating, they let you get to the fun stuff faster!

GW featured my annihilation barges on their blog yesterday, but for some reason they used the low resolution pictures (which I assume they pulled from the flickr pool)

There's some higher res shots here on the element games webstore: http://elementgames.co.uk/warhammer-...-annihil-barge

And again here's a link to the tutorial page where I've done a step-by step guide to how I painted them

Also here's the picture of the BA troops + Dread I finished recently for a client

Which colour scheme do you guys think I should paint the new necrons up with? They're released tomorrow and I've still not decided!

Would classic or the nhiili...something, the turquoise one be best for eBay? I think the turquoise one is more striking, but prob less common?

The same as your last lots. The turquoise ones. They look fantastic and are becoming more and more popular.

Thanks for the speedy reply bud! I'll dedicate the to you

Watch this space over the weekend guys.

By the way I'll be painting a triarch stalker and 3 wraiths, what equipment would be best on them (a flail thing on wraiths I believe)?

    Re: Byronic's 40k painting blog

Well after however any hours it is I've painted some of the new Necron Wraiths, the kit is brilliant, although assembly took nearly as long as painting, which is a bugbear of mine with the necron stuff.

Click the picture to go to more views in my gallery (the backs of these guys are gorgeous, lovely to paint!):

I'd give the kit 8.5/10, it's brilliant, but a couple of the points where the bits join the sprue are a little ill conceived (on the inside of the 'scythes' rather than the outside for example).

I painted them in the same way as my annihilation barge a while back, if you're interested here's a link to my tutorials page

Any comments or criticisms please let me know as ever!

Thanks very much, they reminded me of the thing that's dropped into the belly-button in The Matrix, so I thought the blood was necessary to have them looking sinister enough!

Well it's been a very Necron-y weekend, here's the Stalker to go with the wraiths, click the image to go to my gallery for more views:

Also here's a 3d view of the wraiths, we'll have one done for the stalker soon!

    Re: Byronic's 40k painting blog

I've posted this in my fantasy thread but as it's Daemons I think it's transferable

"For those of you with long memories this may ring a bell ^_^.

I'm in the process of trying to paint a full 2400point daemon army in less than 7 days, and I've been taking pictures along the way with some units with the intent of writing tutorials. These daemonettes were painted in one sitting in about 9-10 hours, which could be useful for someone if they have a tournament coming up etc

Anyway I've written a tutorial here describing how I did it.

Here's a picture of the finished unit:

let me know if it's of any help, what you thnk I could do to improve it, or if there's any general questions you'd like answering, I'll be doing lots more in the future so with some feedback hopefully I can make them more helpful!"

Wow, that's a daunting challenge, but those daemonettes look great! Kudos.

Thanks Max, I find having horrendous targets of toil is one of the best ways to learn techniques, necessity is the mother of invention and all that

I'll have some more updates soon guys, hopefullly a 3d view of the stalker, he's proving a tricky little chap to work with!

    Re: Byronic's 40k painting blog

I've done another unit of wraiths after people kindly pointed out that units of 5 are common (my 40k knowledge couldn't fill a tea cup!)

And here's them all together, click the images for plenty of more views in my gallery!

As ever here's the link to The tutorials I've written, including the one I wrote for how I paint necrons

Here's a link to eBay in case anyone's interested

More to come soon, I'm doing an entire army in this scheme, inspired by Chad Mierzwa's Necrons in the last white dwarf.

This is not strictly 40k but it's fairly generic in terms of the water effects/basing/buildings but: I've done a new tutorial, painting a dreadstone blight, feel free to check it out, all feedback welcome

Here's a WiP picture from it:

Cheers bud, it's a lovely model, I'm really liking the trend for larger kits to come with 'free' plastic chars in them these days!

    I've painted up a Nightscythe,

There's a couple of WiP pictures and a brief review on my newly started blog, please take a look

Looks great, love the scenic basing you used.

How easy do you reckon it would be to magnetize the Portal/Death Ray?

It's actually on a square peg, so you may be able to get away without any magnets if you're careful with your glueing etc

I've been burning the midnight oil, and here's the SM flier done:

I kind of wish that I'd got the Ork one now, 3 fliers in 3 days would have been quite an achievement!
