It might be easier to back up your save data, and reinstall the game - works as a general fix most of the time. Unless you elaborate, it's a bit hard to offer further advice.
There's always the Kinect features.

Quite a bit of new information leaked about Dawnguard apparently.
Much more in the article....According to the information from Game Informer, Dawnguard revolves around the return of a vampire lord named Harkon who wants to put an end to the vampires greatest enemy - the sun.
Players will be able to choose to fight either alongside the Dawnguard to hunt vampires or become a vampire themselves and join Harkon. Either way, there will be "alot of unique content depending on which side you choose." This also includes two brand new homes, one for each side of the content...

Well I stuffed all my homes full of books, equipment mannequins and stolen statues of Dibella... I have to admit I wish homes were more customisable, but yes I used most of mine. Not saying I'm representative or anything. It isn't like the homes are the main feature of the add-on either.

One character lives in Whiterun, another lives in Markarth and another still lives in Windhelm. As with eldargal, I stuff as many books as I can get my hands on in the shelves; the home in Markarth has the largest/most bookshelves, but even that isn't really enough.
As for the new homes, what's the problem? It's not the selling point of the DLC or anything, just a nice addition based on who you side with.

I actually used the one in riften and the arch mages/initiate quarters, but thats mostly to store more appropriate items in them (riften-stolen and stealth related items, college-mage related stuff). whiterun for forging and everything else, but I'm probably in the minority for using that many (bought all the houses those are the only ones I use; still don't use the one in soilitude cause of the glitch- anyone know if they fixed it?)
Also started a new character the other day; this time I only leveled once and have chosen to not do it anymore (trying to see how the game plays for a lvl 2 character).

Note to all: there is a Dawnguard Beta signup going on now. Only for xbox 360 users though, and you must have a xbox LIVE account.
Yea for some reason it's out on Xbox as a "timed exclusive" for a "minimum of 30 days" before it goes to pc and ps3. Annoying! (well unless you have it on Xbox obviously!)
