The Contagion of Ganymede; a Death Guard Plog

With 6th edition on the way and a charity tournament that I want to enter next spring I have decided to restart my Death Guard army after over a decade.
The original army was built in 2nd ed and as all the models have long since been lost in the aether so I am starting afresh. I am still in the process of scouring Ebay for what I need but I have enough for me to getting on with for the moment.

The colour scheme itself will be the preheresy bone colour as this will be a purely Death Guard army (with some newer recruits). I usually paint my armies in dark colours so its a nice change for me as well.

The first (almost) completed squad. This is a standard marine squad with a meltagun, champ with combi-melta and a rhino.

The Rhino is awaiting the arrival of weathering pigments and I will probably be getting rid of the more 'runny' slime as it just doesn't look right.

An internet cookie is also available to whoever know what the Contagion of Ganymede is in 40k fluff.

The rhino def needs some touch ups, but I like it. I like the color scheme. I wish I had painted mine in a scheme like that. It looks way better. Marines look nice too. I like the use of the chaos warrior helms( I believe that's what they are).

I've not had much time to paint recently but I have a couple of days off next week so I plan to do as much painting as possible. Here is what I have done so far anyway.

    Plague Marine squad

    Plague Champion

I also have the next 2 squads assembled and I will hopefully get them done by the end of the weekend.

Took me longer than I would have liked but their done now.

    A standard marine squad

Plague Marine squad with plasma guns.

Next on my list are a Daemon prince, Sorcerer and a Predator Annihilator. Once they are done I have half a havoc squad and a plague marine squad to assemble and then I need to Ebay 2 Rhinos and a Predator Destructor and that is the army done (aside from basing and some weathering )

    My Predator Annihilator

The rust needs touched up but I made such a hideous mess with my original rhino when I touched it up with pigments that I am a bit loath to go over this one as well

Less is definitely more I think and my remaining vehicles will be much more muted.

I have my last Plague Marine squad, my Daemon Prince and my Havocs finished. My remaining predator and Rhinos turned up in the post today so once I have them done I just need to source 4 Chaos Warrior heads and that will be the army done for the moment.
