great review. Very thorough and well thought out. Also, well done for picking up some of the more recent comments about the thickness of the weapons and all such. I also appreciated honesty about ranking them up.

Overall, very good. I think you've just about convinced me to dig out my storm of chaos book and think about doing a slayer cult army.

Useful pictures too. Individually, you'd probably have to say the models are quite static. But as a unit of r'n'f, they look perfect.

Good review of what looks to be a good product.

    Thanks, guys.

@magath: Yeah, they tend to be a bit tricky to rank up so when you assemble them, don't assemble them so that they look alright on their own, always batch-assemble them and rank them up right away so they don't get in each other's way. This means that their arms often have to be raised really high but when it's ranked up they're looking good.

@sulla: Oh well, they're 28mm Dwarves meant to be ranked up on 20mm square bases so there's really not much space for poses. As for the pictures - I always try to keep people researching in mind. I use a lot of google image search for researching miniatures so I often do more or larger pictures than necessary just so there's a more complete look at the parts and so people who are researching the models get a better idea.

That was very informative, good show they look very promising indeed

Though I would of liked some fleshly built unpainted pics to get an idea of what they look like to get a nice idea of a rough draft to painting them

Top effort Sigur, especially liked these passages here...

[Now if you want to have these guys ranked up, you have to be pretty careful when assembling the unit. Due to the huge weapons and the rather bulky nature of the models, they can be a bit tricky to rank up, especially with these greataxes amongst the ranks and big mohawks.]

Especially helpful passage for most people.
I will give these guys a run in both Armies of Arcana and Fantasy Warrior systems but on 25mm bases so for me the ranking up issue will be a bit reduced and I'm looking forward to the diversity these models will bring to the large chunk of metal slayers I already have.

[One word about that monster of a standard – I suggest not putting it fully together. Assemble the stone statue holding the dragon heads, add the book and any additional bits you like but don’t put the two parts of the pole together right from the start- Paint both – the standard bearer with the lower half of the pole in his hand and the rest of the banner – seperately and put them together in the end (by the way, this will require pinning!). I put the whole thing together right from the start and it’s just unwieldy, inconvenient and very prone]

That is an army standard rather than a unit standard, I think I'll lose the over sized dragon head and go with the rest of it.
Nice to have the option though.
