I really hope that blessed hull isn't nerfed but its only used against 2 armies so it's not the biggest loss in the world. There's a good chance we'll lose allot of the advantages but who knows we may get a broken op gk style codex!!

The point is speculation and rumors aren't facts and until the codex is released we wont know

Blessed Hull could go a lot of ways. My favorite option would be to make it a tad more expensive and basically have it turn the vehicle Venerable, with the reroll on demand.

It is expensive already i think the most expensive bt vehicle upgrade they have, i dont have the codex on me but think its 35pts pushing the lrc to about the 300pt mark, even so i'd still always take it vs the eldar armies and would miss it if it went.
I agree with the venerable lr idea but id prefur a new anti xeno lrc with blessed hull as standard

Well, I think 4 armies have "lance" weapons now. BA have Blood lance, then Zoanthroapes, DE and Eldar. I can't recall if Crons have any Lance weapons in the new dex but off the top of my head I don't recall any.

I forgot about nids which is strange cos i have a nid army but rarely play with or against them and not with bt, i've not heard of the bloodlance is it a special weapon or gun? I've never seen a ba player use one and i play against them allot.

Bloodlance is a pretty short range STR 8 AP1 psychic power that is not used that much. Trying to pen a Land Raider up close on a 5+ is not really a good option. Crons don't have lance, they just like to glance stuff to death.

That never made much sense to me, really. Between the word "blessed" and the BT psyker hate, bonus against one specific weapon type featured (until 5th) only by 2 specific xenos armies sounded very weird. Venerable seems to be a lot more fitting, imo, though I'd have gone with an invulnerable save vs attacks by daemons and psychic powers.

The problem with the blessed hull upgrade atm, is that you'd always take it againist eldar, and never againist anyone else. Its a good tailoring option and thats really all it is, GW seems to be moving away from that which is a good thing IMO.

Its not an essential upgrade but is just another thing we don't want to loose. I think that everyone wants a good and flavourful codex and i'm just hoping we get one.

Just want you guys to know that I'm still searching high and low for new BT rumors, the problem is that every site I go to seems to have a copy and paste of this thread. If any of the venerable rumor sources out there (ghost, mr pie, stickmonkey ect...) pick up anything new we'd love to hear from you

I haven't seen anything substantive that says they'll be a White Dwarf codex. Most rumors put Phil Kelly writing the codex with new plastics having been done for a while now. Templars were in the boxed set a few editions ago, I really don't see how they get relegated to White Dwarf unless they plan to do another release with a full codex soon afterwards. It just doesn't make a lot of sense for one of the most divergent, popular and supported (in the past) chapters to go that way.

Also, it seems like the only reason the Sisters got a White Dwarf Codex was a half assed attempt to clear out their old metal models. They didn't make anything new and there's no rumor of a (first or) second wave.

I'd say the primary reason for the sisters WD codex was to quickly remove the allied rules and the inquisitorial aspect of the witch hunters codex quickly after the release of Grey Knights and not to give sisters players an updated rule set

There were quite a few rumoured reasons why the Sororitas got royally screwed. The most popular was that the new Sisters of Battle model range were tediously nowhere near finished at the time. In contrast, one of the funnier rumours I heard even suggested that none of the writers actually wanted the gig of writing their codex.

Back on Topic: I don't think just because Phil Kelly is writing the new codex means it won't be a WD codex. And if stickmonkey's rumoured schedule for 2012 turns out to be true then I can't see Tau and BT being released close to each other without one of them being a more minor release in some way. Still the rumour of new models provides hope to the contrary.

Why not? They've released 2 codecies almost every spring for quite some time (last year being the exception, and with Fantasy's 8th Edition mucking everything up, it's ALMOST understood). The only argument I have against it is that they usually don't like to have a codex release close to an Edition's launch. If Black Templar/Tau come out in February, Tau/Black Templar have a chance of coming out before the Olympics. If they come in March... That will reduce the probability.

That must be a pretty wide definition of Spring going by the release dates noted here. By my reckoning there's normally just one major codex release during the 1st third of the year. 2010 was more exceptional by normal, recent standards. To do so it bookended the period with Tyranids in January and and Blood Angels in April, which won't happen again next year. Usually I'd expect a four month gap between codices to accommodate a WHF release and minor waves for both games. And that's without taking into account expansion packs, new editions and so on. It's only tends to be shorter when GW has less to fill its schedule.

Sorry, I'm in Arizona, Spring has a much different definition here. It means the time that you no longer need a jacket and hasn't hit 100 degrees yet. So that usually means February through May. I didn't think about the traditional definition of late march through early June when I wrote it up.
