It's an old plaster statue used for decoration. The log you see in the pic used to sit as a tree in the jar next to the old man.

Yeah, I'm quite fond of it myself.

Well, look at that...the plog is not yet dead!

I'm back after a rather long break from this project. I've finally gotten around to finishing the jungle patches:

And they are dead easy to make too!

I painted the bamboo skewers with Orkhide shade and stuck a piece of foliage on top. I used light green foliage clusters from Woodland scenics.

I got the get around to make some of those bamboo trees. Saw them first in the How to Make Wargames Terrain (one of GWs best books!). Your jungle terrain looks great!

Thanks! Yeah, they were in that book too. I've actually finished the bases for my bamboo groves, and nowm I'm only waiting for some spare time so that I can mount the trees on them.

Edit: pics added! I've done one of the bases...only four more to go!

I've added some undergrowth to the bamboo forest:

I've done a couple of jungle pieces myself, but I never thought of doing anything like how you used the tea leaves to break up the monotony of the "lawn" feel on the bases. Gives it a nice, natural look that I'll definitely be using to update my terrain bases. (I was struggling on balancing dirt and flock in a consistent way to make it look nice and natural, but the tea leaves make it look way better.) Two thumbs up. Well done pieces so far. Can't wait to see the completed table when they are all spread out.

Thanks guys! It's a bit humbling that my terrain building can inspire others!

Yes, I'm really pleased with how the green tea worked as a forest floor. Here's two pics of how it looks out of the bag and then on the bases:

I also arranged a group shot of the finished jungle pieces:

    Welcome to the jungle:

My next project will be to make some patches of undergrowth and bushes to scatter around the table for an even more "jungly" feel...

Slow progress here, but I did manage to take some pics of the finished pieces arranged on my 6 x 4 grass mat.

My plan is not to use all the pieces at the same time. In one game perhaps the village plays a major role, but in another the fighting takes place out in the jungle.

Stretch the battle mat with a friend to get rid of the boring foldmarks. Just grip on and tug, it makes a big difference
