Update

Work has been a little slow on my IW last week due to being pretty ill. But now slow recovering I mange to get some time on the IW project. Here what I have so far

Obliterator





I am unsure on the orignaly Obliterators I posted up when I first started this project log. So right now I been trying diffrent idea, so far I been pretty happy with this new Obliterator. The Bile backpack brillaint to use & I order another two sets which I hope to get on the 24th Dec.
I'll also be pick up the finecast Techmarine for some bits for the next few Obliterators, there a total of four in my army.

I've also use some of the Ork Nobz kit for things like the armour plate on the right shoulder pad. While I am useing Terminators for the base of my Obliterators, I do not want them clash with my Terminators units in games. So though be a nice break up for the Obliterators & be nice to green stuff the morphing flesh between the armour plates.

The head is from the Forge World Khorne Bezerker terminator kit. It just look cool & has a Chaos star which is scar into his skin. Also the facemask has a daemonic look which fit in with the Obliterator. It will be glue into the armour once I got the metal work all done.

Should also add in. I'm being careful not to go to "over" the top with the weapons. It to easy to go a little over board to a point all focuse will purely be on the over the top parts. When I collect a army & on the building or painting front I try to aim that the focuse is on the whole model & not have one bits be way "over" the top.
With the next few Obliterators I will be adding a few more weapons, but as said not going over board with them.

I've just to add some green stuff around the arm's to help give this a bit of strength before I add the shoulder pads. I've also to pick up a box of Finecast Raptors for there jump packs & to make my life easy when it come to useing these to converst my Daemon Prince Wings. I'm going with Jump Pack over Wings model wise as it fit the Iron Warriors better in my view & also for transport, I found wings to be more of a issue.

Project - Iron

Right now I am aim on getting the Obliterator I just posted above all ready for painting on Wed when I go to my local GW store. If all gose well, then this will be great & given me a idea how I want my Obliterators to look model wise.

I'm aim to have the 22nd & 23rd of Dec as my own hobby time before the Christmas holidays take over with family, real life stuff & Assassin's Creed Revelations. Two days purely aim on building or/& painting my Iron Warriors. I'll be getting my Daemon Prince all finish building wise & both Rhinos for my 1st & 2nd Iron Warrior units along with all the plasticard work for the extra armour & Iron Warriors icons on the hatch. Also finish both IW units with the last bits of detail & make use of the new Games Workshop Trufts.
24th Dec I'll be aim to spend some time building up the rest of my Obliterators if my mail order arrive.

Then money permit, hoping to pick up my second Terminator unit & then pick up a box of Space Marines so I can make my Object marker as well.

That it for now, I'm going to try update this on the 24th or the 25th that the very least.

I've try out the new Games Workshop turft grass on this IW model



I do like the turfts. I've bought both set after seen my local GW store Necron army which was recently finish. So be mix these on my IW base, along with the dead static grass.
So during 22nd & 23rd my two Chaos units & Terminators will see these.

Also been working roughly on other banner idea. Just I am unsure about the Banner I already painted, so trying this out



On the IW with the Icon it'll be a lot tidy. Just wanted a rough idea & I think this one work out better. It help the red stand out a bit for my Chaos Icons, while the white style banner was not. I'm thinking of trying out things like the IW skull icon above a planet, try some other stuff.
Just the Banner are going to be one of the focuse of the army & offer a lot.

Update

First up the Obliterator I recently posted



Mange to get the model painted that my local GW store yesterday. While today mange to get him varnish & use some of the GW Truft grass which is really great stuff, I use both type on my base as said after seen my local GW store Necron force.
Still to paint the Obliterator eyes & finish the cables on his Lascannon

Finial before taken a small break to update this log. I was working on my second Obliterator make use of the finecast Techmarine I bought yesterday



In a few moment I'll be finish off the morphie flesh look around the Servo arm area & around the arm joints to the armour. Also need to add a few more bits here & there & I'll get the Obliterator painted on Sat when I go to my local GW to avoid the house tidy up.

Right now my aim to get the Obliterator all finish so he ready for undercaoting tomorrow. I'm also going to try get those banner started with the Chaos Icons. Then tomorrow I'll be working on my Rhinos with plasticard/styrene extra armour & Iron Warrior icons onto the hatch. I'll try get a update tomorrow or Sat that least of the Rhinos before they are undercaoted.
Then Christmas will see my third Rhino unit of Chaos Marines, also seem I'll possible be getting a box of Raptors so my Warsmith/Daemon Prince will be converted during Christmas day before Assassin's Creed take up the best part of Christmas afternoon.

Then during the Christmas holidays hope to get my other Terminator unit & my finial two Obliterators so I can start getting some 1500pts games on the go!!

Thanks, happy people are like the newer Obliterators. As said was not to keen on my first one I orignaly posted. But think the new once are better. Just hope my mail order arrive today & tomorrow I can start work on my unit of Two Obliterator for 1500pts list (unit is 2x One Obliterators & 1x Two Obliterators, 4 in total).

Was hope to get some work on the Rhinos extra armour & Icon out of plasticard, but a headace during the day sort of put a stop to that. So hope to spend a bit of tomorrow catch up.
Ether way come Christmas I hope to get a quick update. Going to spend tomorrow painting in my local GW, then late afternoon spend some hobby time in the house before watch a few DVD & wait for Christmas.
Also hope money has been paid in tomorrow so I can buy the last few things for my IW

Time to get some updates

It been a busy time. As said on the last update my plans for the 23rd Dec, my own hobby day spent on getting all the plasticard work done came to a stop due to suffering a headace.

However since the 24th up until Sunday just there, I been busy building or painting my Iron Warriors force while watch DVD I got for christmas or when taken a break from play Assassin's Creed Revelastion (sp?).
Christmas was really good present wise, got my Chaos Battle force, so my third Chaos unit was there
Some finecast Raptors as the jump packs where being use to convert the wings for my Warsmith. This made my life easy & help so much vs metal raptor jump packs, only few min & the Daemon Prince was ready, while if it was metal version would have took longer & look like a dog had eaten the parts.

Also got a start of a Necrons force as well. This is a future project & a friend has given me a hobby challenge when time permit for the Necron force.
Along with Conan the Barbarin dvd & Assassin's Creed for my PS3

First up I'll be attach the photos onto the post right now, as some may notice the last few photos are not showing due to low bandwidth.

First up I've attach photos of my Obliterators, the squad of Two & the single Obliterator.
Spent 24th that my local GW painting the single Obliterator. While the unit of two Obliterators where made led up to Christmas. One of them made use of the first/orignaly Obliterator I posted up a while back when starting this topic.

I really like how the models have turn out. I wanted to make use of the Terminator models, but the same time I did not want them clash with my Chaos Terminators units, sort of why I scrap the first Obliterator I made. Use Space Marine & Chaos Terminators bits, green stuff, Ork Nobz, wire came from the Servo skulls from the Devastators range & then heavy weapons all came from the Devastators box set. While the arm's came from the Bile backpack & the finecast Techmarine.

So that it for update No1 for today, get update 2 ready in a min

As well as building my Iron Warriors force during the Christmas holidays. I also got this version first game on the 31st Dec that my local GW store against Blood Angels.
Was a really good game & nice to use my Iron Warriors again. Just incase people are woundering about the photos of my IW on the table.

Yesterday I mange to start painting my Daemonc Prince/Warsmith & my first out of the three Rhinos.
Sadily did not get as much time as I would have like as weather was not looking great when I was that my local GW store & just for travel. But mange to get a decent amount of time. I'll be aim to try finish painting the Warsmith this weekend.

Rhino - I am adding crusifed Space Marines to two of the Three Rhinos. This has alway been a way for people to find my army that tournament. Much like my Space Wolves useing Legion of the Damned as object marker.
For this Rhino I went for a Ultramarine from the 4th company, back on my Mk2 Iron Warriors force I had added a Ultramarine onfront of a predator so little nod toward that.
The second crusifed Space Marine will be base on a Black Templar, possible a Emperor Champion, which will be going on my third Chaos Marine squads Rhino.

So as it stands for my 5th Grand Company project

- Finish, just banner to paint. I might replace one model. Squad 2 & 3 have had IW with a scanner type thing on there backpack useing the Undead Skull with bionics, though be nice to have this though out my army but I'll get that conversion done that a later time.

Chaos Squad 2: Be Graphicus
- Just a Autocannon IW to convert up & the Icon to still finish off painting wise.

Chaos Squad 3: Apocalypse
- Have 6x Chaos Marines to paint. 3x Chaos Marines still to build

Obliterator Squad 5: Excessus Fillius
- Just need to varnish the Two Obliterator for this unit

Obliterator Squad 4: Oburo & Squad 6: Hydra Infensus
- One is finish, other just need varnish

Rhinos
- Need to finish building the extra armour on the last two Rhinos (squad 2 & 3 transport). Then I've to add the cusifed Black Templar onto 3rd squad Rhino. Then they should be ready.

Was really greatful a few of my friends give me some spare parts which will help finish making the 4x Chaos Space Marines - 3x from 3rd squad & 1x for 2nd squad. So hope to spend some time during the weekend getting these Chaos Marine built, also just got a e-mail though saying my mail order has been sent. Some Imperial ship from Battlefleet gothic for some bits to make my 2x Autocannon arm Chaos Marines & it'll be start toward my third Battlefleet gothic fleet. Really enjoy the game & have a fleet for my Iron Warriors & a fleet for my Space Wolves.

Finial note is, my Iron Warriors will now be attend Throne of Skulls April. Just bought my ticket on Tue & just had another e-mail from mail order saying that has been ship out now.
I have just over three months to get my Iron Warriors ready. Building wise they should be ready by the end of this week if everthing gose to plan. I'll be aim to take a army photo of my Iron Warriors next week.

Another update, this will be another attach photos one due to fair few.

First up, my Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company is near to being fully built. I just have two Chaos Marines & Object Marker to build. A second unit of Terminators, they are built but I am waiting to get some of the new Undead models for trophies & also to paint strip some metal Iron Warriors helmets I have.
I'll be aim on getting a photo of my 1500pts army on Sat when I go to my local GW store.

So onto the Iron Warriors & what been done recently.

Rhinos

I've mange to get a lot of work done on the Rhinos. Since the photos where taken, I've mange to get all the finial detail done & they will both be ready for undercaoting in the next few days.

As to the photos.

Rhino for Squad 1 - This was the Rhino I shown in the last update with the crusifed Ultramarine. Since then, as you can see, I've now added crew memeber with the combi bolter.
I'm hope to spend time on Sat that my local GW, try finish this Rhino. I'll be aim to paint the inner of the hatch with some cool chaos icons & try get some cool detail painted there.
While the Ultramarine I'll be painting blood on the blow off legs.

Rhino for Squad 2 - Since the photo was take, I've added the battle damnge onto the model.
Simple drill part of the armour & then useing a scalpel (sp?) blade cutting out V shape before twisting the blade to add the bullet effects.

Rhino for Squad 3 - The second Space Marine who is crusifed onto the Rhino will be a Black Templar when I get around to painting this Rhino. Since the photos was taken, I've redone some parts, like re-place the arm's or adding thing like Terminator Honour to the Templar to try show him as a high ranking battle brother.
Like Rhino No2, since the photos I've added battle damnge.

Plasticard/styrene - If you've never use this material. It is well worth it & easy to use.
Just make sure to use a good scalpel blade, metal ruler & a engineer square (make sure everthing streight when cutting the plasticard).
I done a NQ to HND model making course & alway like bring in element of my college course (2005 to 2008) into the hobby.
I tend to use 1mm think styrene to give support, then 0.5mm for things like icon. Thinner the better.

So right now just a few thing to finish on Rhino No3. But both are near ready for undercaoting.

Chaos Marines

The Chaos Marines attach to this post where part of the four out of the six Chaos Marines I needed to get done to finish my Iron Warriors force so they could start getting some more games.
Thanks to a few of my friends, last week I was given some spart parts from the Corps Cart to the Beastman Ghorgon/Cygor.

Autocannons - As seen before with my first unit of Iron Warriors. I've converted up the Autocannons useing the Devastators Heavy Bolter with a Land Speeder Assault Cannon.
Just in my view, it fit in more with the Iron Warriors, as they charge into the foe trench, need to gain that spearhead. Also the whole use of techknolwege they are know for. Also just look more agressive. I have try useing a Autocannon from the Chaos Terminator range before, but did not look right. While the Autcannon fitted in just right.

The other Chaos Marines are - Melta & Icon Chaos Marines for my third Chaos Unit.

Since the photo was take, I spent a bit of today that my local GW store painting these models along with my Daemon Prince/Warsmith.

I saw the recent topic on the Forge World Newsletter & right now I really want this model for my Iron Warriors



Basicly I want to use this Chaplain(?) helmet for the Champion of my Third Iron Warriors unit.
The unit is going to be base on Iron Warriors who are heading down the path of Khorne, but they are not complete Khorne Bezerker, not yet anyway. Like in Storm of Iron novel. They will still use there Bolter & heavy weapons when the need is there, but they enjoy close combat to much.

Just think this helmet would be cool for the unit Champion. All I need to know is the release date!

I said I still had a second unit of Terminator to finish building, but was waiting on the new Undead release. Basicly it with parts like this (on the spike)


Though it would be cool, possible try convert it as a Space Marine. If it did not fit onto the Terminators, then I could alway add the bit onto a Rhino.

That it for now. I'm aim on getting those last two Iron Warriors made ether tomorrow or Fri. Then on Sat going to take a photo of the complete Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company that my local GW store, try get unit by unit photos as well. Then the next time a army photo would be taken in the near future will be when they are fully painted & ready for Throne of Skulls April event that Warhammer World Nottingham.

Since the photos where take, I mange to buy the last bits in store & some bits friends had spent me arrive on Sat as well. This allow me to finish building my second Chaos Terminator unit & get that last Chaos Marine model made.

Since then I've mange to get all models that are not already painted. They have been undercaoted & have the metal armour painted up. Allow me to easily pick up any model to paint. I usely batch paint three model from a unit, leaving the Champion for last.
Only the Champion from the 3rd Iron squad has not been undercoated. I'm still waiting to find out when that Forge World Chaplain model will be release, if he will be release before ToS April. Or I hold out & use the part on my 5 man Chaos Marine unit that I'll be building in the future when my Iron Warriors take part in 1750pts tournaments.

I'm still thinking what to do to the Obeject marker. I still want Black Templars who have been kill in battle, with Chaos Icon of each Chaos god going through there guts. But it just what else to do, to make these object marker stand out & use the space on the 40mm base.
While the Capture & Control Object marker will be a Iron Warrior carry the might 5th Grand Company banner.

I'll be aim to get a update done on Fri on the current models that have been built over the weekend there or just painted.

Little quick update

Been spend today paint some of my Iron Warriors models that my local GW store.



I though it would be cool to included this on my Rhinos for the inside hatch. It'll have the IW motto "Iron Within, Iron Without", along with a list of some of the battles my Iron Warriors have taken part in like the 13th Black Crusade to the Medusa V back in 2006.
All tanks will have this, but they will be diffrent, as seen there a Chaos star, going make each one base on the squad mark & have diffrent lay out.

Apart from the Black Templar. My Daemon Prince/Warsmith is done



I'll spend some time during the weekend finish off the Black Templar model.

Also a little preview into my Object Marker for the d3+2 Object mission



The basic idea is, these Templar are being scarifce to the Chaos gods, to try turn the world into a daemonic world so my Iron Warriors can make there fotress even better. Each Templar will have a icon base on the four chaos gods, while the fifth will be the mark of undivided.

I still got a lot to do to the base, add H beams & plastic tube, as well as a lot of the undead bits.

The Object for Capture & control will be a Iron Warrior who will carry my Grand Company standard. I'm going to search for Chaos Banner from the Warrior of Chaos range. I done a small 750pts Chaos force as part of a hobby challenge, just case of find those spures!

Keep them in a box when that home/not gaming. Just allow me to see how the army going, how it is all together & just if there anything still to be done.
As seen here, apart from my Object Marker & the Champion from the 3rd unit. Everthing now is ether fully painted or has the metal armour/past the wash stage.
Right now I am near finish my 3rd unit. Just have two Rhinos, unit of Terminators & my Object Marker to get finish now.

If anyone spot the Emperor Champion model here. He for a future project, another old army that will get a new version. Just waiting to see what the future bring for the Templars. Also have Krell hiden with this lot, purely got him because he a brillaint model & more for painting than anything else.

So during this week I am going to find some spare time to finish off my 3rd Chaos unit. If I can get these done, then I will spend the weekend painting up some Rhinos.
I should also have my undivided object marker to go with the rest for the d3+2 marker.
