Skyrim Civil War: Whose side are you on?

Well, a specific subset of a subset, really. It gets a little weird at times (particularly if you are playing an high elf) because you'll come across random high elf citizens in skyrim- shopkeepers and even farmers, that are apparently established members of their community, and people that should get vocal about it strangely aren't.

Imperials. My Dunmer character still holds a grudge against the Nords for invading Morrowind -> so they don't deserve their independence.

And I own a house in Solitude, and as I didn't want to lose that when the Stormcloak invasion hits Solitude I decided to join the Imperials.

I love how they made the sides fairly equal in evilness, visiting Solitude before taking sides, talking to the Jarl there, and knowing the background history, one could make a great argument for either side.

You don't loose houses if the faction you are with takes it from the faction that has it. I mean why would they turn on the person who has just helped them?.

I definitely felt a sort of everybody's corrupt-in-some-way vibe, not too dissimilar from 40k and the original gundam.

Having now discovered that Ulfric Stormcloak is a pawn of the Thalmor, I have decided upon the everpresent third option in situations like this: kill everyone.

The only info about this that I have found is that he used to be an unwilling (and quite possibly unknowing ) Thalmor agent but that he broken free of them.

I thought that as well. I didn't think he was still a part of the Thalmor either.

Also, if he's a pawn then why does it indicate that at the end of the civil war questline that Ulfric wants to rebuild Skyrim for the war against the Dominion?
A war that if it happens, Hammerfell would join with Skyrim, as would Cyrodil and probably Morrowind, and crush the Dominion.

I had the feeling that the Dominion only did well because no one was really prepared. Now that the Dominion has lost the momentum and half of the Dominion hates it (wood elves), would indicate the next Elder Scrolls game will have the fall of the Dominion in it.

Smartest thing they could do is a DLC that has a lengthy campaign about sabotaging the Thalmor's efforts to control Skyrim based on the choices you made in Reunification of Skyrim.

I think that was one great loss of potential story line that they could have used in Skyrim, the Thalmor. I know whenever I see Thalmor that I accidentally send a fireball down range towards them.

Hmm, that's somewhat disappointing if it is indeed the case. It would be nice to have the option to usurp Ulfric, or propose another candidate to lead the rebellion. Like, I don't know, Temba Wide Arm.

They are leaving him dormant as he is likely to react badly, especially if he is high king

I was under the impression, from reading some of the Thalmor books, that the Thalmor had helped the Stomcloaks without them (Stormcloaks) really knowing much about it, but that Ulfric was becoming a bit of an issue, because he was gaining too much power and that he was not directly affiliated with the Thalmor, but rather someone who the Thalmor had previously manipulated into starting the war. I figured that the Thalmor did not actually want either side to actually win, but that it instead would be a long drawn out war, that would use up the empires important resources, thus weakening the empire enough for the Thalmor to be able take over the empire with minimal losses.

+1, so I chose "neither" in the poll.

Even the "barbarians" (those guys in the province Reach) have their plausible arguments, the seperatistic storm cloaks ( or the Talos worshipping Nord) don't come out very good in compehension to the Imperials and the Barbarians.

And though I really don't like the arrogant Thalmor members (btw, are there Dunmers inculded), they are in the end just the hated "winners" of the war resulting from the oblivion crisis and they show this in a fairly annoying way.

I would say it's a ******* civil war for power and ideology, so every side is as good as the others.

Go for Daedra (the three good ones, of course)!
