    Syn's Necron's

Righty so after playing a daemons army for a while I have come to the conclusion that they are crap, and I wanted to have a bash at doing an army that wont get completely annihilated by the third turn. So here is the start of my necron army!

First off are the warriors, these have been collecting dust in an attic for I dont know how many years. They were all already built and painted and repainted and repainted when I got them so they really dont look very good now. I was planning to just use them to test out colour schemes but a box of warriors costs £20 now so I'm not gonna turn down a bunch of free warriors.

Next up are some scarab's, these came with the warriors.

And finally, the start of my immortals, the only unit that was actually bought for this army.

    All C&C welcome.

Really cool color scheme, and the red compliments the blue nicely.

Thanks very much, I was torn between red and green for my spot colour but I think I made the right choice. I've got some red rods for the warriors guns too, I'll get a photo of them up tomorrow.

I've got a question. If you had a necron lord in a unit of warriors or immortals obviously you want him to have a resurection orb, but would you give him a phase shifter (3+ invulnerable save) or a sempiternal weave (2+ armour save)?

Really nice models, the weapons of the Immortals look especially fine.
Some dead grass on the bases would make them a bit more interesting though.

I'd go for the Phase Shifter.
His regular armour save alongside his Reanimation Protocols is good enough to soak up large amount of attacks while the Phase Shifter provides protection against Power Weapons.

Might be worth making him a Phaeron as well for the extra firepower on the move. Moving 6" and firing at 24" makes for some dangerous firepower.

Excellent 'Crons you have here, syn. I like the choice of blue and red as your primary colors, they go together very nicely. Not to mention the fact that you painted these very well. They look almost iridescent. I don't know if that is something you were going for, but if you added some really subtle purples where there would be shadows, I think that would look so boss.
    Looking forward to more

@ Freakiq: Grass is deffinately needed. I didn't realise that there would be so much space on the bases, I just need to get around to buying some. And I like your thinking with the phase shifter.

@ AtmanAbecedarian: Thanks very much, I'm planning to a more detailed paint job on the more important models like the overlord and some lychguard when I get them. Right now I'm just working on some infintry to bulk up the army so there not getting to much detail work, just a uniform colour. Though I might go back and add details once I've done them all.

Speaking of which, here's the next batch. The next two immortals, taking the unit up to 5 models.

The warriors have red rods in their guns (they are transparent, it just doesn't show up to well in the photo).

And the scarab unit it done.

    All C&C welcome.

Nice. They look very sinister and menacing.

Thank's Komodo, you've summed up what I was going for very nicely there.

I've got two more warriors done but I can't get a decent picture tonight, I'll get them up tomorrow. I've also started on my first of three destroyers by updating its cannon. what do you think?

Looking really good, simple colour scheme, but very effective.

Good to see someone modernise the destroyer weaponry, I'll definitely be trying that. Good luck with updating your 'crons - they've been asleep for 60 million years, so there's no hurry

    Re: Syn's Necron's

@eltanko: Thanks for the complement. Its a colour scheme I accidentaly stumbbled upon when I was flicking through the old necron codex.

I've got my first game on Friday! and this is what my list looks like
HQ - Destorer lord with sempiternal weave
    - 2 lords each with a warscyth, sempiternal weave and resurection orb
    Elete - 5 Deathmarks
    Troops - 12 Warroirs
    - 5 Immortals
Fast attack - 4 scarab bases
    - 3 destroyers

This comes to about 800pts and its all the models I've got. I know I'm not really able to use the lords without an overlord but my apponent doesn't mind. He's using eldar, that's all I know, but I have a strange feeling that it's a jetbike army :S

Thanks very much, It's a colour scheme I'm proud of

It turned out my battle was agains dark eldar, and it didn't go so good. My opponents army was made up of wracks and wyches which got into assault on the second turn and had completely annihilated all my units by turn 5

I've started working on a pair of destroyers and a pair of lords which will hopefully be painted up over the next couple of days. For now, here's some WIP photos.

The first lord is done! But the photo's haven't turned out too great, there's a bit of flash on him and the purple looks a lot better in real life than in the picture, but how does it look? Does anybody think the purple and blue go well together? I got the idea from AtmanAbecedarian, so if it looks bad blame him, lol.

while nicely painted, the purple cloak doesn't really mesh well with your color choices. i can recommend a pretty wizard orange tutorial, which would compliment your navy blue better.
