Alrighty then, I'd like a look at that

@ Dezmord - Thanks, I didnt think it'd work but they fit together pretty well.

    The second destroyer is done.

After looking back over the picturs of my lord's and destroyer's I can see that I need to go back and tidy up they're highlinghts so I'm going to get started on that.

    Re: Syn's Necron's

I had a 1'100 point game on Friday (literally all the models I owned at the time, I had a unit of lychguard that were just legs on bases!) against an eldar army at my local gaming club. It actually went pretty well, I managed a victory by claming one objective with my warriors and wiping out all my opponents troops so he couldn't claim any objectives. But the army's were pretty well matched and we both had almost no models left by the end of the game.

I managed to get a few pictures too.

I also noticed I had a spare destroyer body left over from converting a lord and decided to put it to good use. I put this guy together a few days ago.

So next up is a destroyer lord and a unit of lychguard.
    all C&C welcome.

I've got the destroyer lord done and the lychguard are built. I also got an overlord, it's just such a cool model.

A few things spring to my mind regarding your latest updates:

The Destroyerlord-conversion looks good and I just love those warscythe conversions!

And some minor criticism about your painting:

It may be just the pics, but it looks like your silver-metalics could use some more depth. Did you shade them?

Allthough the highlights on the carapaces seem to improve, the first blue-blac-highlight still looks a little sloppy, which is a shame, as it could be easily corrected by straightening it with the base-colour.

My silver does look better in real life, but it could definitely be better. I use a boltgun metal base coat with babad black wash in the recesses and a chainmail highlight. Do you think I should give the silver areas a wash of babad black instead of just putting it in the recesses? And should I do that before or after the chainmail highlight?

As for the blue highlight, I totaly agree. The preblem is that the first blue highlight shows up a lot better in the photo that it does in real life. The only way I can see of getting around this is to tidy up the first blue highlight before doing the other two, instead of doing all three highlights then going back to tidy them up.

    Any thoughts anybody?

I usually wash the whole area with Badab Black before highlighting it.

The interesting part is, that the second and third highlights are pretty fine, it's only the first one - so I'd clean it up before applying the next two highlights.

I think your probably right, I'll give it a try on the next batch of models.
I painted up the first two lychguard before Dezmord brought up the first blue highlight issue so they do still need that bit tidied up, but here's how they look so far.

Also, a few things I totally forgot to show off. I did a unit of deathmarks at the same time as my immortals so here they finaly are.

And I finished the last destroyer about a week ago.

These units also need that blue highlight tidied up.

    All C&C welcome.

Sorry for the delay in posts, I've been really ill so I haven't done very much painting, but here's what I have got done. Some lychguard, most of the metallic's are only base coated at this stage and the lighting in the room was pretty poor but hopefully you can see how their doing.

And the overlord, he still needs tidied up a bit but he's pretty much finished.

I have to say, I really don't like the resin fine cast model's, the overlord was full of air bubbles I had to fill in, he looks very grainy and bumpy, and he's so flimsy. A light breeze could snap him in half!

    All C&C welcome.

you can say that again.. ive got one sitting to one side as i wait to get some lychguard to give him a warscythe that isnt warrped to hell and back

hmm its probs the camera but the gold looks a little warm try a mithril/gold highlight on the edges, i think lowering tone on the gold will fit with the blue better

good stuff btw any non metalic necron is a good necron subscribed

Merry christmas Warseer! And look what I got!

That takes me up to 15 lychguard. Can't wait to use them all in one battle.

Also, look what greeted me from the advent calendar.

    Pretty creepy right?

I have two lying around here and both are quit horrible - they have lots of air bubbles and the warscythe was in a terrible shape. Trazyn was even worse: the tipp of his staff napped of and the lower part of the staff had more bubbles than anything I've ever seen - fortunatley his staff wasn't needed for my conversions.

I love the scheme you have gone with for your necrons. Probably my favourite scheme out of the tons that have appeared recently!

I just noticed this, but your destroyers should be on sixty millimeter bases, not forty. that is unless i'm heinously mistaken and they aren't shipped with the large flight bases anymore.

@ colonel kane trine : Thanks very much, I'm pretty happy with the colour scheme myself

@ self biased : The destroyers were meant to have 60mm bases but they look a bit too big in my opinion, and I don't like look of the thin transparent one's. Also, its harder to get into base contact with them on smaller bases!

Here's what is going to take me up to 1500 points.

I like your Lychguards withnthe shields, but I wonder why you didn't use some of your wonderful red-glow on them.

To be honest, there's not really a lot of places I could put the red. I've painted the orb's in the centre of the sheild's red and I've put Baal red into all the markings on the weapons but that's all I could do without it looking out of place. It doesn't show up too well but here's a photo.
