Glad you like the desk decorationsThere's actually a whole bunch of Marvel characters dotted around the flat.
I've decided to take a day off revision so I can get as much done on the Tomb Stalker as I can. Here's how it's looking so far.
I also played around with another idea for the Spyders base. It's just blu-tacked together at the moment so I can still change it, but what do you think?
All C&C welcome.
Here's how the Tomb Stalker is coming along.
All C&C welcome.
And after about 10 hours the Tomb Stalker is looking pretty good (or at least I think it does). I've still got all the legs to do but everything else is finished up. Well, there's still some tidying up to do but I'll do that once the legs are finished.
Unfortunately, revision for my exams has to take priority over my Necron's so, until mid June, my progress is going to be pretty slow. Sorry about that. Hopefully the Tomb Stalker will be finished over the next few days though.
AllC&C welcome.
Very awesome Necrons, syn, I'm loving them. I'm in the throes of starting up my own Necron force, which happens to be my very first dive into the grimdark world of Warhammer 40K, and your robot-Skeletors have been madly inspiring. I'm still working on a colour scheme I'm really into, but having seen your work with the blues you've got going on...well, it's now yet another option to play around with.
I'm honestly a little jealous too, as I've still yet to get all my new Necron plastics! Bitter...
They're looking awesome, good sir, and I'm beyond ready to see more of your stuff. One thing I did notice is that it doesn't appear that you've modelled any Whip Coils on your Wraiths. Personally, I was planning on excluding them on my own as well. I haven't physically handled them as of yet, but I've heard reports of them being rather brittle and perhaps even a little poor in regards to potential posing. I guess I was just wondering if you didn't equip your Wraiths with the whips because of their (alleged) modelling issues, as I mentioned, or if it was simply an aesthetic choice on your part, or even if you just didn't upgrade them as such in your army list for gaming reasons? Just a random curiosity on my part, syn.
Again, stellar deathbots, looking forward to more!

@ Zhul: Thank you very much for the kind wordsI decided not to use the Whip Coil parts because they break very easily because I think that they look terrible, but I do still count the Wraiths as being equiped with Whip Coils. Because they are a fantastic upgrade and, if you ask me, I'd say there's a pretty obvious Whip like coiling appendage that makes up the bottom half of their bodies, so I see no reason to use official parts.
The Tomb Stalker is looking very nice indeed ! I do want one and probably would of bought 1 by now if it weren't for the daunting task of building it .
Good luck with your exams and remember that it is always important to take breaks - so revise next to your painting station![]()

Thanks very much razormasticator and Commandojimbob. I took your advice and managed to finish off the Tomb Stalker in between revision.
I have a small problem now. I never really considerd how I would go about attaching the Tomb Stalker to it's baseAny ideas? Should I try putting pins into some of it's feet? Or do you think super glue would be enough to hold it on?
All C&C welcome.
I would pin it, have heard a few stories of stalkers taking tumbles off tables. Looks ace by the way very striking.
Wow - someone listens to me
The Stalker is great - nice job !! I have a busted up SM Landspeeder all ready to do the same above - you have set the bar for me, I need to see if I can make it![]()

The Stalker looks very good!
I've glued the legs of my Stalker to the base and additionally pinned its underside to the base, too.
I've had to just glue it together, if I'd thought about it before I painted the thing then I would have prepared it with a pin in the underside of the torso like Dezmord said, but I didn't want to ruin the paint job. Hopefully the glue will be enough but if not then I'll pin it and repaint any parts I wreck.
I've not done much paintng lately, just revising, but here's how the first Wraith is looking.
And I was having a clear out yesterday when I came across a model from my childhood. Here's the first Monsterous Creature I ever painted compared with the latest Monsterous Creature I've done.
All C&C welcome.
Looking really good, Syn! Your colour scheme + painting are truly things to be proud of.
I am urgently trying to contact any living relatives of Sam 'Jock' Wilson, KIA 10.06.44, UK army service id 2764432, from Morley, West Yorkshire, England. Served with Black Watch Regiment & No.6 Commando.

Thanks andyg2006!
I finished off the first Wraith today.
I also sat my first exam. Chemistry. And I'm really not sure how well I did. Fingers crossed.
All C&C welcome.
Fingers crossed on the exams - really like the wraiths in your colour scheme. Also look so much better on the 60mm bases - just don't have whip coils otherwise people will be calling gamesmanship. Which we know would be nonsense
Thanks RTBO1, and I know what you mean, some people can be really fussy with the whole "what you see is what you get" thing. But I really don't see why anyone would need to use the official whip coil parts when the Wraiths have a great big metal tail, I mean what else is that thing for.
Very nice Wraith indeed - and I spy the other 2 - it will be a very nice unit once complete

The wraith is looking great! And as RTB01 mentioned the larger bases really work with the model. If I didn't know better I'd think the whole thing was 'scaled' to a 42mm. And I'm with you on the GW whips. I think they look a little silly... (and you're right... why have those tails?).
Cheers BowlingShirtJerk and Commandojimbob, I'm glad people are liking the Wraith. To be honest though, I'm not entirely sure I like it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm disappointed with my own Wraith (though after looking back over the photos I can see that I need to go back and tidy up it's blue) I'm just not too happy with the models in general. I've never liked the weird orb things a lot of the new Necrons have, I've cut them off everything that I could, but the Wraiths have 4 massive orbs imbedded in them, and they're far too big. They'd look a lot better if they were smaller. But despite all my complaints I really can't argue with they're rules.
On my desk I have 2 more Wraiths, 4 Immortals and the Spyder. Which one would you like to see next?
