    A Foray into True-Scale Lore

    Hello Warseer,

I think this is my first thread here, but I've been an active member over at Bolter&Chainsword for a while with my Sons of Malice. With them, I started experimenting with more extensive conversion work and came in contact with the famous True-Scale technique.

As I am entering much newer terrain, with more extensive greenstuff work and attempting some original designs, I wish to get as much feedback as possible. So please, feel welcome to leave some criticism or comments

    Skena, Chosen of Khorne:

This is a major step up from my usual greenstuffing work, and my first completed true-scale attempt, so please leave some feedback!

    Thank you in advance!

Personally I think it looks great. The proportions look good and the pose seems natural. Maybe the chest is a little oo big but maybe you want that look. The skin cape is impressive.

He looks great. I also love the skin cloak and the armour. THe only thing I would redo might be the belts. They might be ok if you tidy the edges with a scalpel or use a trick I use which is using strips of v v thin plasticard or sandwich bag ties.

His hair could be a little bit more OTT as well. Love the sword. Nice work on the posing. What's next?

@Icarium and New Cult King, Thank you both for commenting very much! I can live with the chest being slightly large, let's say he's puffing it out in challenge.

@Hadriel Caine Thank you for the comment! Yeah as always I can see all the little bits that aren't working out now, however, I think that when the belts are painted to be a little worn out, it'll look good I do agree about the hair though, it was actually added as a little bit of an afterthought. I'd prefer to make a bigger, wilder mohawk, if not just a plume of hair standing straight up. I'm gonna experiment a bit with different do's.

As for what's next however, I have been working with a few other Gods

Thank you for looking and, remember, comments and criticism is very much welcome!

Very nice work with the GSing, sir. A lot of character in the pose. The sword reminds me of Ganondorfs blade. Very cool
I agree Hadriel regarding the belts. Really minor fix. Also, it wouldn't hurt to take a very fine grit file (if you have a sister steal one of her manicuring files) and shaping the edges of the armor a bit. The pleated shoulder pad is awesome, it just has a few uneven edges. GS requires very little effort to file down so it will be easy.
I really like what you are doing here. Hope to see more soon

Edit: I posted this comment at the same time you posted your update, so it only pertains to the first mini. Gotta say, the new guys look excellent as well. Not often you see marines with rapiers. Excited

Holy Emperor's Throne! Awesome stuff. As a Shakespearean actor myself I love your rendition of 'Hamlet'; something IS rotten in the state of Denmark!

Very excited for this project now.

    Howdy, howdy!

@AtmanAbecedarian Thank you kindly, Sir. I have done what you guys suggested, I hope it looks better now. I should get some pics up. But yeah, I like the rapier idea, I'm just struggling with how to make the quillion look good. Anywho..

@Hadriel Caine Haha nice! Do you mind if I steal that as the title? Thank you though, I hope you like the update!

@Student Thank you very much, I appreciate the comment!

I have a few small updates to show you guys, I hope you like 'em!

First off, good Sir Hamlet w/Yorrick:

Now, I'm not one hundred percent sure about the backpack. I sculpted the dead Imp. Guard Commander a long time ago after seeing the Forgeworld Lord Zhufor model and have been wanting to use him for ages. Now though, I'm thinking it might be a bit over-the-top for a Death Guard. What do people think about just a skull at the top of the pole?

I have also started work on a Shaman. I'm still trying to decide on his backstory, so far I'm thinking he's a renegade Space Wolf psyker who, in his enthusiasm to slay the enemies of the Emperor, has accepted Tzeentch's patronage and travels the galaxy hunting daemons. Please feel free to comment!

And finally, my newest project which I'm very excited about. I drew inspiration from so many sources for this guy. At first I wanted a sort of rough-and-tumble Mechanicus Enginseer. After long campaigns of attachment to an Imperial Guard Regiment, he'd have gotten in touch with his human side. Believe it or not, I took inspiration from Mario, wanting a sort of badass plumber/fixer who wasn't afraid to committ to a fight. Alas, however, projects warp and change without my control and now I'm going for more of a veteran Skitarii of some sort (I still haven't decided). But I looked to Boba Fett and these guys so he's slowly starting to take shape:

Please feel free to comment or critique, it's very much welcome!

Unbelievably cool. Hamlet is looking completely staggering. Should that my Comissar Yorrick *ahem* sorry Yarrick on his banner?

    When can I expect paint?

I really like the AdMech chappie too. Inspired me to do some sculpting today. Will grab a camera tomorrow.
