    Shiny new model syndrome.. Necrons....

Since I cant resist the temptation of new models, I picked up some crons to play around with. I don't know if I will do a full on army just yet so I'm playing around with this paint scheme. Let me know what you think. I picked up an Overlord, a Cryptek, and some warriors as well so I will update as soon as I get some more painting time.

Nice start there Green_Ranger, and a good swarm effect on those scarabs. Keep them coming, and you too may have a chance to control the universe

Awesome stuff, sir, I really dig the slightly more "classic" colour scheme you've been doing. Not to say I don't like the more intensive and perhaps colourful or enamel-styled Necrons, but I've always been a fan of the metal and bright, neon green look. Love it.

Well My Necrons took a devastating blow this month as my roommates dog decided that my 10 Immortals would not make there reanimation roles...so there was a lack in motivation to get going again But we are going to be playing a small 500 point tournament next week so this gave me the motivation to pick up the brush and start painting.

I finished all 15 of my warriors except for more detail here and there on their bases:

I also started on my Monolith:

    And sadly, the Immortals:

The monolith looks ace, and the warriors look really nice and consistent, cool you used the armoured barrels.

The immortals, well, yikes. Let's hope they live up to their name, I think it should be fixable.

Hello everyone! I know i took longer then I wanted to up date but here it is, First off the "tutorial" for my Immortal:

First thing is simple enough, I cut, cleaned, glued, and primed the Immortal:

Next I went and base coated the parts I wanted silver with a 50/50 bolt gun metal and chaos black:

Next I started all my green with Snot green:

Next was to layer the green to a lighter color by gradually mixing white with snot green, also base coated the head with graveyard earth:

Next I layered over the graveyard earth with the final white coat:

    Continued:

Next I edge highlighted the black shoulder pads and leg armor with Shadow grey; Fenris Grey works as well:

Then with Space wolf grey, edge highlighting each sharp corner and then hitting each corner tip with white:

and that's pretty much it, A final picture of the model:

That's one really nice colour scheme you've got, and I really like what you've done with your monolith, the immortal stepping out is perfectly lined up with the ripples in the portal.
    Your Overlord looks great too.

Excellent work so far. I've often said that silver Necrons arenct dull if done well...yours are done very very well. Really good. Thanks for the tutorial, too.

Edit: and this plog probably just saved my Necron army from getting eBayed. I hate the new background, find GW's new schemes uninteresting, I don't like the stupid new hats and the new models just don't do it for me.

I've subscribed to this plog because it smacked me upside the head and reminded me how cool Necron can be. Thanks, dude.

very cool - and many, many thanks for the tutorial - simple but incredibly well done - I'll be doing my lychguard similar hopefully in the next two weeks depending on how many essays I need to mark!

The immortal stepping out of the monolith portal is simply brilliant though - look forward to seeing the army as a whole

Thank you everyone for the great feedback! I hope I can keep up with painting to keep everyone's interest but with working on our Warlord titan's as well free time is hard to come by.

I worked on one of my Lych guard to see how it would turn out, Let me know what you think?
