What would you like to see changed? The rules are great, IMO. The core rules are simple and consise, with some special abilities for flavor. Making the rules more complicated would detract from the tactical complexity the game displays. If anything, I'd personally look to trimming some of the special abilities while leaving the core engine untouched However, even that is unneccesary.

Are you a soldier, or are you a general?
Less trimming please. That's what I would like. My biggest gripes under the current rules are; mutations being normal rolls, the removal of traits and the randomness of the new ref. All of which, for me, have made the game bland. Clone Bowl-ish. So yes, new rules please.
I would even be fine with mutations being a random roll. Pick mutations, roll and see what the gods gave you. I mean, it just doesn't feel chaotic when every player grows claws and then learns how to pile on.
Not even a little. I honestly dislike the current anti-fun clone bowl rules. And I would like to see a new rule set asap as I just can't stand playing blood bowl under CRaP. Might not seem like a big deal, but it's forced me to find a new game to play, and believe me, for an addict replacing BB is not an easy task.
You guys are off course allowed to disagree with me. But you stated your opinions and I stated mine. Seems like a fair deal I think.![]()
I never played in previous editions. what rules did they have different? I have heard of being able to argue with the ref and... actually that is the only difference that I know of.
Well, 1st and 2nd editions were entirely separate games (apart from anything else, the 2nd edition pitch was shorter and wider, and was played with no turn limit - first to 3 touchdowns won, no matter how long it took).
From 3rd edition (the box set) onwards, things that have changed include:
Illegal Procedures causing a Turnover unless you spent a re-roll
The introduction and removal of the Special Play cards
Adding Inducements to balance out differences in team rating
For that matter, the Team Rating. The current Team Value system is new in 6th edition, IIRC.
Big Guys and Star Players have had different rules over the last 4 editions.
Not to mention all the additional teams and changes to existing teams over the years.
If they do plan anything for the 25th anniversary (which I don't think). I would love GW to add the 3 missing (Chaos pact, Slann, and Underworld) teams to the core ruleset, and provide a range of minis for them.
I think most Blood Bowl players would like more miniatures and no meddling with the cummunity rules. Having said that, those players might not be overly represented in this thread!![]()
