Thread: My beginings of New, beefed up orcs!

My beginings of New, beefed up orcs!

I decided to take a little break from my lizardmen and work on my orc army.

It has always lacked creativity and this always bothered me. I decided that I want to do some things over again.

One is how I model them, and the other is how I paint them.

Since starting the lizards, I learned amny techniques in both fields.
So I decided on making a new Black orc unit (starting with one), and a chariot to start things off right.

Here are the almost finished unpainted models.
    Enjoy!

I really like the look of the Black Orc. The only suggestion would be to add a more dameged look to the plastic card. Maybe some dents or gouges in the armor?

Is that a 40K orc? Or are there newer Black Orcs? I don't know since I don't play warhammer, just 40k. Always meant to start though....

The extra height ads extreme ammounts of coolness, orciness and other nesses.
    Incredible chariot too.

It always bugged me that orcs looked no way as cool as their drawings. Now they do. Awesome.

For the Black orc, I used the arms from the plastic chariot rider, the one using the spear. I cut the spear off and replaced the other end with an axe.
I then added heights by not putting the torso into the correct ball and socket like fitting. I made both sides flat, then filled the gaps with gs.
I then added a little amount of height to the head. It is easy to overdo this and make him look lanky and weird. Just play around with it until it looks right.
I also added a ball of gs on the soles of the feet to add another little bit. It all adds up!
The cape was made by cutting a rectangle-like shape and glueing it down. I then put a mask of gs on the top and started from the bottom up.

Thats it, a lot of work for one mini, but I love the way he looks. Enjoy!
