    Quick Update:

Lunch will be available on both days of the tournament. Saturdays menu will be fast food and sunday we will be offering a roast lunch. Lunch prices are not included in the ticket price, meals will cost apx £4 each. If players have any specific allergies or requests please contact me so I can arrange alternatives.

Tickets are not sold out, I can still make available seven spaces for 40k.

Can you put Ian Manson down for the 40K event and I will get payment over to you as soon as possable.

    Quick question.

With Forgeworld units allowed in the 40k event, will fantasy players be able to make use of relevant Warhammer Forge units in our repsective armies? Random monsters not withstanding obviously.

But, as a Skaven player would I be able to use a Brood Horror mount for my warlord or an Orc player use an Idol of Gork (or possibly Mork)?

The Warhammer event will not feature any rules from Warhammer Forge, but please feel free to use any model from the range as 'counts as' for a suitable unit entry.

Speaking of Warhammer, the rules pack has been updated to a 20-0 scoring system and SCGT 2.0 comp added.

Hey Chunk, it's looking as though my current schedule (work, painting, etc) is going to prevent me from being able to attend this one

Hopefully I can get things sorted for the next event.

Hi are there still spaces for the 40K event. A group of us from Horsham might be up for attending. We normally attend the Brighton Warlords events but are looking to spread out around the south !

Also is there any parking near the location?

    Cheers

There are 9 spaces available across both systems, I hope you can attend.

There is parking at the venue, but it is limited. I would advice an early arrival to avoid disapointment. Failing that there is residential parking in the area.

Fratton train station is located less then a minutes walk away however.

Hi there mate, just found this tourney. 1 question.

Is the 'painted army' rule manditory or will you be happy to accept a part painted army albeit with penalties?

I am afraid to say that painted armies are mandatory.

Hey, I'd like to attend but not 100% if I can get my army painted up in time, could I sign up but with the possibly of changing armies on the day, if I don't manage to finish it?

Unfortunately I have a house to empty and move out of by the end of May so I will not be able to make this one, however Hedley Crocker wants to take my place if that is OK. Really gutted as I wanted to see how this works out and I cant make the next one either as a family holiday is booked.

That will not be a problem, thanks for letting me know. I'll have to see if I can put on another event later in the year then!

Army lists in by tonight please.

It looks like a brilliant event and al least a couple of our group are going so I cant wait to see how it all works out and if possible one in the Autumn would be OK!!!

Re: The Solent Concept Challenge, 40k and WFB, May 2012, Portsmouth

    What a great weekend!

A big thank you to all who attended, who were not pulled away by the beach or didnt realise it was a two day event!

Everyone I talked to said they had a good time, and enjoyed the new scoring method. In fact not one player had a bad thing to say about it. I'll call that a success!

    The winners:

    40k:
    1st Gerraint Hastings-Evan
    2nd Kevin Sharpes
    3rd Mike Foulkes

    WFB:
    1st Andy Spiers
    2nd Garry Simmonds
    3rd Gary Fisher

Best Painted was hotly contested, with a stunning Space Wolf, Star Wars themed IG, Deathwing and Grey Knights for 40k. WFB had a Dwarves, Dark Elves and Ogres up for voting (all winter themed, which was odd).

    40k Best Painted: James Karch
    WFB Best Painted: Garry Simmonds

Half of the entrants to this event had never been to a tournament before, so I want to extend a special thank you to all the regulars for being so welcoming and considerate.

I hope you can make it to the July event, I'll see you there!
