been waiting for a Kharn book for yearsand if ADB is writing it, i know it'll be done brilliantly and Kharn's gonna be more than simply 'Kill! Maim! Burn!'
I can see myself starting World Eaters when this comes out![]()
The blog of my eternally wandering mind - I do commissions. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
I wonder if it'll tie in directly to Butcher's Nails and whether it's going to take the approach that TFH took and show the fall of the World Eaters from the start up to the Heresy.
Death is nothing compared to Vindication - Konrad Curze/Night Haunter
This will be awesome. I hope he continues on with what has already been written about Kharn in HH series.
He wrote the fall of the Word Bearers so well, I can only expect the World Eaters fall to be just as good (but hoping its even better)
When the God-Emperor gives you lemons, shout "Blood for the Blood God!!"
Oh Jesus, I just wet myself.
A World Eaters novel with Kharn as the main character as he goes from the noble Emperor loving guy that he was in After De'Shea to the savage he was in Galaxy in Flames would be the man. Just sayin
Reason not to hate Mat Ward #62: Mat Ward used the well designed spine of the Grey Knights Codex to 'Ward' off chavs who were harassing a group of nuns]
Didnt Kharn earn his name post Heresy though? Not that that rules him out but it may not be so obvious...
I believe he did. However, nothing says that a writer can't foreshadow that particular fall in the Heresy timeline. Even then, it could be like the informal name for Maloghurst - The Twisted. Kharn could be the one who leads the purge of all World Eater Librarians and Chaplains for example.
My 40k/Writing/Review blog - Sons of Corax Full list of my novel, comics, and audio drama reviews - Reviews. New review is for Baneblade by Guy Haley.
My current fiction projects - Dharmayoddha, an Indian-mythology inspired urban fantasy set in Mumbai, India; Hammer of Shadows - a Euro-medieval epic fantasy with knights, gladiators and ancient relics; Cloak of Secrecy - a Norse-mythology inspired space opera.
Very true, it could even be ironic, with Kharn working as a force of stability in the Legion before his death and rebirth at Terra![]()
AHHHH this deserves a beer!!!! niceeeeee!!!
Blood angels codex...finally man!!!!!!!
Im sorry for my bad English guys, is my second lenguaje
AT BLOODY (no pun) LAST
I remember ADB dropping big hints about wanting to do cover WE during the HH in a video interview, and then all was quiet until the Butcher's Nails was announced. Glad to see he's writing a proper book too.
Am very interested to see how they will be portrayed - I loved the short story by Matthew Farrer which did a very good job of portraying Angron, but the other characters didn't get much development (for obvious reasons) other than seeing just how devoted a Legion can be to their primarch even when he's ripping them limb from limb.
I just hope there's a moment where somebody screams "Khaaaaaaaaaarn!". I don't care if it ruins the book, as it will make the book :P
I doubt it, he seemed pretty off his face on Istvaan III. Of course he could still be at the stage where he's only a raving frothing lunatic during battle and still returns to some degree of sanity outside of battle. Obviously with the distinction blurring more and more as the Heresy continues leading up to the Kharn we all know and love.

It will be a very bloody book if Kharn is the main character...

Having just finished Helsreach, and having his other works, I look forward to this immensely.
Not to be a spoil sport but... is it definitely Kharn?
There's a fair few betrayals going on during the heresy, and Kharn gets the title post-heresy. That and having a book about 40k's psychotic madman would spoil the whole image - it'd be like writing a book purely from the emperors point of view. It'd be nice, and having a skilled writer tackle it would be a plus, but some characters need that facelessness.
Personally, a book about Horus by ADB be nice. Something mid campaign where he would be battling with internal power struggles. I got the distrinct impression from Nemesis that Erebus was being pushed to the side and he can't be happy about that...

But has he confirmed it?
Bah I guess I'm just hoping for something a little more interesting. The night lords novels have easily been the best reads in the black library series for a good long time - I'd like to see him tackle something a lot more meaty then Kharns fall.
Kharn struggles to hold the legion together and loses it, or Kharn is mental from the start and its a gore fest. Niether seems particularly interesting and whilst I'll buy it (its ADB, purchasing is required).. yeah, its time to give him something a hell of a lot meatier.
No pun intended

I dunno. It would be hilarious if we were all wrong and ADB is actually writing a political thriller centered around two star-crossed lovers from Navis Nobilite houses on opposite sides of the Heresy. The eponymous (look Ma, that there's a twenty-dollar word I done reckon!) Betrayer is of course one of the Navigators whom betrays his/her House to join his lover.
They are all then shot in the face by Rogal Dorn. Check and mate.
