I can wait til next year for the new Codex since its rumored that my Daemons will also get an update next year. Would love to see Farsight unlock Crisis Suits as troops though especially since the earlier rumors mentioned that they would be getting a bump up to having 5 in each squad. If Farsight got to keep his Retinue like he has now that would be up to 40 Crisis Suits on the board....muhahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Since this is my son's 40K Army I do wish I asked more about them! Oh well...only thing I heard was Tau were starting to become more and more like Dogs of War from Fantasy years ago, incorporating many other races into their fold "For the Greater Good!"...I was told "yeah" to my question about possibly Zoats???

But, as things change (and my info can definitely be wrong) this may not pan out true...

We had a "Tau for May" reference already. It just wasn't from somebody who usually shares info. he is so low-key that it isn't even in the rumor round-up, here or elsewhere. Here is the gist of it though:

Tau are the next, then 6e, then Chaos.
The date he found out for WFB Empire was spot on, so I guess we'll see if these turn out to be right too. He'll post more, if/when he wants to (but he usually doesn't).

I do hope it is for may, but if it really was we would have heard something concrete by now. A codex getting out early perhaps, loose lips from anyone involved down the production line, anything really. We had plenty of info the month coming into the Necron and Dark Eldar release.

Interesting thing though is that around the year shift we had rumors about either BT or tau around now, and with the facts in our hand neither of them comes this year and one of them is rumored for early 2013 and the other nothing new is heard. Interesting, in a odd kind of way, how GW has managed to controll rumors and leaks. A bit boring in some ways, but still impressive I must admit.

I am actually now worried because we Tau players DO NOT want a May release. Having a book that is made with 6th in mind, but still made to be compatible with 5th will be cool right now, but 6 months into 6th, we will be miserable.

I fully expect there to not be another full army release including Codex before 6th edition. We will only see wave model releases.

It's looking more and more like that's correct, which disappoints me. Whether it's Tau, Dark Angels, or Chaos, I was looking forward to a new codex.

Oh well, just have to get psyched up for 6th edition in July.

I don't think that's true. I don't think Demon players are complaining about a book written right before 5th but was designed for 5th. That being said, 4th edition to 5th edition wasn't that big of a change. If 5th to 6th is a drastic change then you might have a point. But I have feeling it will have some differences but be fairly close to the current rule set.

Well, I suppose I can explain for everybody since I've been following the Tau news for quite a long time. Every rumours about Tau and BT were brought back then by a guy known as Ghost21. He was the only source we had and then one day he declare : « I made it all up, sorry » and we never saw him again. So every rumours in the round up stated to be from him are lies. So, for those still refering to rumours from him (like the sniper suit), I'm sorry to tell you it's not gonna happen.

I must admit that i am utterly disapointed about the lack of new codexes in the 25th Aniversary of the game.So far looks like a very poor effort from GW, even if it includes a new Edition. Also looks like there will be just one codex (Legions) the whole year if we believe the most commons rumours.Really really bad.

Well, we should wait before to say such things. I mean, we don't usually know what's really coming up before a month or so of the release date. And, who knows, I remember someone one on this forum stating that the sixth could be so revolutionnary that maybe every armies get a little something. Maybe it will be the famous automn of fliers maybe it's gonna be something else (maybe it's gonna be nothing, but I hope it's not). We should wait.

I will go ahead and speak for all Daemons players with the following statement: For the most part we are happy with our codex. There are certain things in it that make no sense whatsoever at all but we get to deal with them. A Daemon Prince of Nurgle tooled up is better in close combat than a Khorne Prince tooled up....yeah try to make that make sense and your head just might explode.

For the most part, 4th to 5th wasn't a big deal....unless you were an army that relied heavily on shooting. And wasn't the Tau book one of the last 4th edition books before 5th?

So much hearsay these days, hard to know what's what. At this point, I'm just gonna wait for 6th ed to come out. See what happens.

A release in the early part of next year makes a lot of sense for them really. If Chaos comes out in August and Dark Angels are December then Tau could be April of next year?
