    Gorkenn Morkann

I have wanted to convert up a huge stompy, anime-inspired ork walker for months now. Here is is the head to the might Gorken Morkann. This is the head, which will sit atop a deff dread. The deff dread may or may not have killa kan bodies for legs Voltron-style.

The Gorken Morkann is based off the robot from the anime, Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann. To sum up the show, it is like Evangelion, if the main character punched his enemies really hard instead of crying about his dead mother. I recommend it, plus it is on Instant Streaming in Netflix and Youtube. Any who, here is the original robot.

Expect more updates as the project progresses.

Looking promising! Orks seem to be the go-to army for fitting in pop culture references these days (Orktimus Prime springs to mind).
Can't wait to see the finished article!

Aye. Orks are the last race allowed to have fun in 40k.

I've been planning Gorrken Morkann conversions since forever. I'll be definitely watching this.

    Re: Gorkenn Morkann

All of your burning passion for Orky-ness caused me to fight a terrible 24-hour flu to continue kitbashing the Gorken Morkann. Thank you for the encouragement.

Gorken Morkann looked weedy when I placed the Killa Kan "head" on top of the Deff Dread body. So, I decided it was time to fit in another robotic pop culture reference and to have it become a Ork Walker Voltron.

So....how about that cover save? This dread is going to be a bullet magnet and is probably the size of a Mega Deff Dread at this point, but I am running it as a dread no matter what. I have yet to play a game of Apocalypse anyway.

I need to decide how I want to run it. 4 CCW + grot riggers + extra armor or 2 CCW + 2 scorcha + riggers + armor. I want to run it with 4 drills, so 4 CCW seems to be the way to go. Plus, drills, drills, DRILLS! I am not kitbashing this beast to be modest in game terms. I love it so far. I don't think that I will stick Kanz on the arms, though since the Deff Dread arms seem to be in proportion when I dry fit them there.

Also, I ordered some big drills to go on the 2 larger arms. They are dills from a LEGO set called the "Rock Raiders." We'll see if they are big enough for the Gorken Morkann.

    Re: Gorkenn Morkann

Really good vision and execution - I can just imagine a Mek looking at a load of spare Kan parts and thinking "What happens if I stick these all together?"

The legs look a bit thin for the size of the Kan-feet...if they were about twice as wide, they would be more in proportion.

I'm trying a drill arm for my scratchbuilt Deff Dred (my Dred is nowhere near as big as yours, though) and to get round the problem of me not having one big drill for the whole arm, I made a triple-barrelled arm/hand with different sizes of screws protruding from plastic tubes (I figured that if a Mek couldn't find one drill big enough, he'd just put more smaller ones on it instead...also because "there's always room for one more drill").

Keep up the great work with this...I have a flu remedy which really works, too, PM me if you need it.

The drills came in from a Lego Rock Raider set for my 40k Orks Deff Dread, which is actually a Mega Dread if you go by size...Anyway, I threw some more gubbins on the big guy to round him out. He is built out of the following components.

    ++ 1 Deff Dread

++ 3 Killa Kan bodies (1 for the head, 2 for the legs)

++ 2 Lego Rock Raider Drills (not pointy enough, but I may change that)

++ The driver from a Trukk kit for the pilot

See the magic here? It's literally a Deff Dread standing atop 2 Killa Kans hulls, Voltron-style.

True Line of Sight can suck an egg. I guess I have even more reason to run a KFF now, huh?
