Still alive! Been busy with assignments lately though, so not much progress on my major projects. Finally finished the Demios Rhino, but my lightbox is currently undergoing a rebuild, so decent photos of it will have to wait.
In the meantime, have a random Blood Angels assault marine I painted up in about a day.
One day I'll paint a model that's not red or blue... one day...

Really nice painting skills here, Skits. It takes me about a month to paint one model.
I am urgently trying to contact any living relatives of Sam 'Jock' Wilson, KIA 10.06.44, UK army service id 2764432, from Morley, West Yorkshire, England. Served with Black Watch Regiment & No.6 Commando.

Mockles! Pent on silpen tree, blockards three-a-feening. Mockles! What silps came to thee, in thy pantry dreaming?
@andyg: Thanks!I was actually pretty surprised at how fast I managed to paint that assault marine. Usually takes me ages to paint anything.
Anyway - I still function! Haven't done much with my own models for a while, been busy with other things. Getting two wisdom teeth pulled out last week didn't help much either, heh. Finally managed to get some paint time in though, and made a bit of headway on the Contemptor. Still very much basecoat phase at the moment.
Wondering if I should add more red to the Kheres Assault Cannons, or leave them completely metallic as they are. Opinions?
And a little something else I'll be working on - chapter masters! Still need to fix up some of the bubbles and crap, and will be modifying them for my pre-Heresy Thousand Sons army.

Something else I'm working on at the moment - my display board for the Australian Armies on Parade competition this year. Only just started working on it yesterday, aheh. Got less than a month to finish it, hooray procrastination. XD
Nothing's glued down yet, still need to get some glue that'll actually work to stick high-density foam and wood together.

nice to see you back in action... i hope you'll get to finish the board in time...
i'm curious as to what you will throw on it....keep up the good work!
@Breazer: Thanks!Hehe, you'll see what I throw on it eventually!
Not much update-wise - had the flu, and been busy with assignments and stuff. But since Armies On Parade is this Saturday, I've been scrambling to get the board done.
Foam glued down, gaps filled and some detail added to the ground:
Base paint:
Mostly finished paint:
Not sure if I want to do too much more to it - considering a bit of ballast gravel to give it some more texture, but eehhh. Also still need to do a bit of drybrushing on the ground itself with some lighter grey. Still, getting there!

Updating my Terminator Lord, Akil, so he's got the same style of pauldrons as the rest of my Terminators. Hopefully will have it done for my Armies on Parade this Saturday, but if not, 'sall good. Will just use the old pauldrons and swap the arms out for another set. Yay magnets!
Under-pauldron with hanging cloth.
Still waiting for this greenstuff to dry before I put on the top pauldron layer.

The Armies on Parade store competitions were on today, and I got my Terminator Lord's pauldrons finished just in time! Then I won my store's heats.
My old Terminator Captain Akil with his spanky new pauldrons!
Pic at the actual store from the GW guys, since I completely forgot to take my own photos there, derp.
My board set up at home for photos!

So now, it's down to Games Day Australia for me!![]()

Is the medal actual metal or plastic? If so I may start work on a board for my Thousand sons :P
Hate to say it, but I personally prefer Akil with the old pauladons, possibly try some curved ones as a halfway point between the two styles?
Love that board, where did you get the base for it?

The medal is metal.Satisfyingly solid and weighty! It's actually my second medal, too - I won the Brisbane heats last year as well, heh.
Not sure if I'd be able to actually make curved pauldrons, at least, not very easily. I decided to make these ones for Akil so he'd match the rest of the Terminators, but they're only for those particular arms. If I want him to use his other weapons, he'd have his old pauldrons for those. Hooray magnets!
As for the board, I made it myself! Scroll up a bit and you'll see the pics of it in progress, heheh.

Have you tried the pads from maximini? they are what I am using on some of mine (As much as I love the traditional terminator shape, a giant skull pad just looks goofy, look at the way it killed the dark angel chaplain model.) May actually start a plog of me rebuilding and re painting my Thousand sons, especially if I do a board myself.
If it's actually metal, I am partly tempted to try the armies on parade.

Hadn't actually seen those Maximini pauldrons before - they look pretty cool! But I'm cheap and would rather make my own custom stuff than spend money on bits that other people can also get, heheh.
Hm, it occurs to me that I do have some hollow plasticard tubes that I could possibly use to make some rounded shoulder pads... and more arms for my Terminator Captain that I could try 'em on... *ponders* Though I do like the square look I have - it makes 'em look so damn beefy.
You know you want to try out Armies on Parade!Even if you don't win the medal, hey, you'll end up with a nifty terrain board y'can potentially use for games. And plogs are always cool.

Okay, so I've actually had this baby finished for a good while now, but I decided to rebuild my lightbox and only just got around to completing it. Even so, I think I'll have to rebuild it again sometime. :\ Or at least get better lights. Anyway!
Presenting my MkIC Deimos pattern Rhino for my pre-Heresy Thousand Sons army!
And something else I've also had done for a while! The squad that get to ride around in said Deimos Rhino.Just a basic tactical squad from one of the paint set starter boxes. Spot the small bits of greenstuff!
Ugh. Next time I photograph any of my pre-Heresy guys, I think I'm gonna need to use a coloured backdrop. Their white trim tends to disappear into the background. :|

Not a model or anything, but still related! Just finished making a carry bag for my Armies on Parade display board. Basically just a cloth bag with a zip around three sides and handles to make the damn thing easier to carry around.
Zipped up with board inside:
Open:
The board itself is wrapped in cardboard to give it some actual protection. And the sewing machine is out to get me, I swear.
And something else not a model or anything, but still somewhat related!Runihura beating the snot out of a hive tyrant in the rain.
Now that all that's out of the way, let's see if I can get my Contemptor properly painted up before Games Day this Sunday... x_x
