"From the fires of betrayal, Unto the blood of revenge, We bring the word of Lorgar, The Bearer of the Word, The favored son of Chaos; All praise be given unto him, For those that would not heed, We offer praise to those that do, That they might turn their gaze our way, And gift us with the boon of pain, To turn the galaxy red with blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods." - Excerpt of the 341st book of the Epistles of Lorgar.
Waaagh! Gutzag - my first 40K Plog
Got a shipping confirmation this afternoon for the paints I ordered on the 24th. The ones I ordered with my Empire stuff on the 31st are still showing as processing.
Anyone else get this in an email? It's new, it's apparently of pretty good quality, but I draw the line at this ridiculous hyperbole.'It's like some kind of paint-based magic,'

I went in to my local store in time to see the owner unboxing the new paints and starting to sort them out. I must say that i'm mildly optimistic gw has done a good thing here. Unless of course they double the price per pot or something.

Unlucky. My Paints arrived in mint condition, and with all new seals =D I'm off to paint some more stuff golden, because I can.
On a positive note, here is a blog from an old pal of mine who is a pro-painter selling his wares on ebay for the best part of a decade now, he went in to a GW store with his 6 year old daughter Poppy...

That's a great post and always good to hear from people who are very experienced with paints. Getting more excited about these paints. Been (re)reading the Horus Heresy series and really want to paint a Lucius miniature so might pick him up with a couple of the new paints. All hail Games Workshop for the new paint range! As a side note I have to say that when I have children I will be trying my hardest to keep them away from GW, hard enough affording my addiction!

That's one of doing it, however only time will tell exactly how much glaze you'll need (if indeed it's possible at all) to create a match to the old Glistening Green. I'm not particularly bothered as it's not a colour I'm in need of anyway, I just thought with such an expanded range they would have thrown it in.
Sorry if this has come up earlier in the thread (I couldn't bring myself to read all 50 pages), but the rumours I've heard are that the supplier stuffed GW with the contract regarding IP and so on.
I just wanted to ask then, is this supplier then going to keep making the same paints under a different brand?
I'm just thinking of Coat D'Arms here (though their case may have been a bit different) still making what was once sold as GW paints. If this mystery supplier sticked GW with the contract terms, surely they don't plan to just pack up and stop making the paints for good.
Bram, can you post some observations/stuff...? How's Gehenna's gold? How does it compare to Shining in terms of the hue and coverage? What about the other metallics?
Are all the pots the same colour or are the washes in black pots?
On the GW blog today a guy made a statement that seemed to suggest that you don't need to water-down the paints. Is that true? I tried the paints at GW a week ago but watered them down, didn't think of testing straight out of the pot.
