    More Salamanders stuff

    From - http://www.nickkyme.com/?p=1629

Going back to the Sallies, I mentioned that the Tome of Fire trilogy wasn’t completely done with. That’s because there’s going to be a fourth volume that will come out between Nocturne and the next book in the new trilogy (tentatively titled Rebirth at the moment, which may change if the sales and marketing daemons don’t like it…). It’s actually going to be a collection of all the short stories (including the audio) that tie-in to the series and include some of the main characters (oh, The Burning will be in there too – I know a few people have contacted me on FB about how to get hold of that one).

Contents (but not running order) looks something like this, I believe:

    Vulkan’s Shield
    Hell Night
    Fires of War
    Fireborn
    Prometheus Requiem
    The Burning

I’ll also be writing an exclusive novella for the book. Hopefully, this will come as welcome news to fans of the series who want a complete collection for their bookshelves. It’ll have the same artwork style as previous volumes and fit in nicely with the three main books of the series.
Should've seen this coming, but an exclusive novella sounds exciting!

I would guess that the running order is chronological, with some kind of explanation as to where each story fits in the trilogy.

I've still yet to read Firedrake and Nocturne. Best get on it!

He also says that the next trilogy will be called the 'Circle of Fire'.

Slightly peeved that I went and bought all of the short stories/audio over the past couple of months. Should've waited!

Or wait longer for the inevitable omnibus.

By that you mean the amalgamation of all the stuff released so far?

And by that I mean all three books plus this fourth collection?

No. The anthology will only be the short stories and the audios and an exclusive novella.

Righto, I understand. So an anthology in 9 months (or more) time.

Presumably the (highly likely) omnibus would appear the year after then? Unsure.

Am I right in thinking the Salamanders haven't had a full horus heresy novel yet? As far as I know they are referenced in one short story and in Promethean Sun.

Nick said on his blog that a Salamanders Horus Heresy novel is on the cards in the future.

I think that with the year pretty much booked up with Heresy novels. There could surely be a salamander novel in the first or second quarter of 2013.

I wonder if that's the expected paperback version of Promethean Sun?
"From the fires of betrayal, Unto the blood of revenge, We bring the word of Lorgar, The Bearer of the Word, The favored son of Chaos; All praise be given unto him, For those that would not heed, We offer praise to those that do, That they might turn their gaze our way, And gift us with the boon of pain, To turn the galaxy red with blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods." - Excerpt of the 341st book of the Epistles of Lorgar.

No... because it will be collected as an anthology, just like the Iron Warriors omnibus is being collected in the Iron Warriors omnibus.

And there is a difference in novel and novella.
