    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

    The story continued!

In my first turn Dave and Duncan showed up. Dave got a (fairly) unhindered shot off at a ganger from the left party and put him OOA (yay S7!) Whilst Duncan was trying to wound one of two gangers who was in the building right beside Duncan. I dident do much damage sadly. Meat got up from his fall at the end of my turn. Jennie was still down.

Niels his second turn he charged Meat with Twitch. I wasent to happy about beeing in combat with a power fist but I had step aside, a chainsword and a chain. It would have to be enough... He shot at Dave, only pinned him and he shot at Duncan, wounding him once. In combat Meat stepped aside from 2 hits and only suffered 1 wound! Nice, I was still in the (combat) game One of his ganger charged Jennie and kicked her out of action, he used his move to get near the captive.

My second turn, 2 further guys showed up. (alex and Jose IIRC) Dave passed his initiative test to get up and I noticed he was pretty close to the ladder towards the 2 nearby enemy gangers. Since I had shot at full power last turn he couldnt fire a turn but sadly he was out of range by an inch. What was even worse I had forgetten (in my rush to get busy!) that his heavy was on overwatch who proceeded to down Dave! NOOOOO!!! Jose tried shooting at the ganger who was trying to cut the captive loose but missed. Duncan got up in my end phase and Fred went on overwatch. In the combat phase I managed to put a wound on Twitch, TAKE THAT!!! woooo

Niels his third turn, He charged a nearby juve in Meat to give twitch the help he needed (hah!) I used overwatch and got 6 (SIX!!!) shots! I devided them between his gang leader and his plasmagunner and dident manage to hit... once () His gangleader moved down the ladder and put Dave out of the game His shooting pinned Jose. In combat I put a wound on the new arrival (turned out to be a flesh wound sadly) and Twitch put a 2nd wound on Meat! This was starting to get ugly!

My 3rd turn, I moved 3 men on the table. JJ and the 2 new juves! I had forgetten JJ had hip shooting so dident fire a shot this turn. The 2 juves moved up to get into posistion to do some damage. One had moved on the table (Max) and had a clear LOS to the enemy gang leader. I hit him but dident wound (starting to ALOT of those rolls...) but sadly Grunt was in no posistion to do anything so he ran up to a barricade to attack Niels' sniper. Jose got up from pinning and Duncan and Alex failed to do anything again this turn (...) Dont recall what happend in combat. I think I won combat but failed to wound or somesuch...

Niels 4th turn. He had freed the captive and he was making a run for the table edge! His sniper moved from the balcony he was on and shot Grunt (there goes that plan) His gang leader moved up from pinning (initiative 4 or 5 if I recall correctly) and...stuff happend. Jose was the closest target if I recall and he got taken OOA. In combat, meat put 4 wounds on both Twitch and the WS 1 Juve. And used his extra movement to move towards the (now freed) captive. Or rather towards the ladder

My 4th turn. I rolled a 1 for reinforcements and dident get any! Meat charged up the ladder, and easily beat the Ganger who had freed the captive to a pulp. Not sure if we did this right but the ganger had Feint. We figured though that since the chain nulified parries to begin with he couldnt convert them into extra attacks. Was that right? Moved 2 inches towards his (now cornered) captive. I shot at the captive and missed. I tried to outflank the 2 gangers in the corner but failed to hit. Duncan and Alex were again useless....

Niels 5th turn. Niels shot at Meat, taking his last wound off but it was a flesh wound. His gangleader and ganger made a run for it and shot at the juve who was trying to outflank em. The captive was held up in a corner and basicly could jump down or try to move around Meat (which he couldnt) so Niels put his heavy on overwatch and hope for the best (he couldnt see Meat as he was on the floor from beeing pinned. WHen he got up in my turn he could shoot at him again!

My 5th turn. And now something happend that I should have done on turn 1! Fred showed up with his flamer and doused the 2 gangers that were keeping my gang busy for 5 full turns now. I wounded both! His gang leader fell down, got a flesh wound from the flamer and a down result from the fall. Payback is bitch aint it! I also moved up another model that I had forgetten about (some models were damaged from a fall during setup and I hadent gotten replacements for them...) and the resulting confusion meant we had done some things wrong... But anyway, I fired at the captive, pinned but dident wound (dang it!) Duncan and Alex were again useless (for different reasons this time as they now no longer had targets....) and Meat got up. His heavy fired and missed all of his shots (first time for everything...)

Niels 6th turn. He passed bottle but decided to leave the captive to his fate. Half of the 8 men he had leapt in with were down and he felt keeping the fight up wasent worth it!

Win for me! Yay! I also still had the captive! woohp woohp!

Now it was a somewhat strange battle, as he had freed the captive but he still was in my hands but we had agreed beforehand how we would play the game... Considering how close by Meat was it makes sense as well

I got some nice advancements and (sadly) injuries out of it:
Dave got a leg wound and +1A
    Fred got +1W
Alex got 1 XP this battle and so was still 1 XP away from an advancement (but he couldnt hit the far side wall of the hive so I dident care!)
Duncan also only got 1 XP
Jose got crack shot and horrible scars(first injury I think...)
    Leo got 1 XP
Meat got 24 XP and got +1BS (seriously? He puts down 3 people in combat and he gains BS????????)
    Bill got +1W
Shorty (one of the models that I had forgetten) got 6 XP
    JJ got 2 XP
Max got 6 XP and gained gunfighter!
Grunt got 3 XP and became partially deafend!

I asked Niels if he wanted to pay the randsom now, and he still dident. I sold the captive off to the slavers, never to be seen again by his gang! Got 15 credits out of it and a autopistol. Not bad! Gave the autopistol to Max

Jennie found me a 2nd drinking hole as well! Dident invent anything or get any new juves. For my only rare item I got scare grenades. With my credits I had also just bought the grenade launcher and so the grenades were a good buy! (Niels reminded me later of this fact as I originaly dident want them) and I later decided to still buy them!

Something else happend this battle that was pretty funny. Twitch got an LD increase and was making a leadership challenge! Since Niels his leader was cursed he dident want Twitch as the leader and he certainly dident want to lose a member of his gang. I took control of his leader and he took control of twitch. We did a shoot out with the leader getting the early advantage. He managed to put the first wound on twitch and then either couldnt hit or wound. Twitch got back up and put a wound on the leader, and then another one! Twitch had won the challenge for leadership! The old gangleader departed from the gang but for the sake of the campaign I thought it would be fun if others could recruit him

Niels got some nice advancements of his own including a BS5 (monoscope carrying) heavy with heavy stubber
Twitch got step aside (very same skill that had saved Meat!)
    He got a 2nd inventor
His sniper got gunfighter (which he probably wouldnt use)

He also got some injuries like a ganger losing an ete and twitch getting a leg wound (hah! Twitch and leg wound! )

He got a 1 in a million weapon hand flamer. Due to the loss of his leader his gang rating only went up by 24 points! Mine on the other hand had went up by 277 points! But saving credits for 5 games to get the grenade launcher had been worth it (I hope!)

We hope to get a game (or 2) in next weekend. First Dennis and Niels will get an old fashioned grudge match (mud slinging only goes so far to see whos the better man) and after that if we still ahve time we hope to get a 1v1v1 free for all with some random item drops in. Already looking forward to it!

That was quite a quirky game! Shooty guys get WS while combat guys seem to get BS, I remember in the campaign I was in my Heavy Plasma Gun armed Heavy did great and got enough exp for an advance. I was thrilled when I had a chance at some more BS but got WS instead!

Your friend has got a great heavy there, BS5, mono scope, next he'll probably get bulging biceps!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Yea, we never get the advancements we want

Extra attack on my leader was nice but id prefer an extra wound! 1 Wound is just so squishy! And if theres 1 model that you cant afford to have squishy then its your gang leader

His heavy was putting wounds on people left and right he had a high vantagepoint with good LOS, very devastating! Fact that my own heavy and my sniper couldnt do ANYTHING only made things worse

Im already looking forward to the big free for all Small problem I have though is that ive been holding onto a ratskin map for a few games now! I havent rolled what the bloody thing does as we dont use the #%)#%_ 2D6 table to see what kind of game we are doing

Perhaps I should just roll for it next game or use the table for the FFA game to see what kind of battle were playing...

When my campaign was over I was left with Roxanne as my leader, who's only T2! She has mesh armour and more than one wound though but at a low toughness I don't wanna take risks with her if I ever bought the gang out of retirement.

Nice report, and nice move putting all those photos up. Looks like you've got quite a good selection of terrain to play on!

One thing I've noticed is that you have quite a few big open spaces - have you thought about making some smaller barricade type terrain pieces? Like a few barrels, a few crates, things like that to break things up.

Heh heh I particularly liked reading about Meat in this report! I can just picture him cornering your captive! "You ain't going nowhere, boy."

I think Jihad has a point about smaller terrain pieces. They'd also make the game a bit more interesting as gangers dart from cover to cover.

It is a good point, and a while ago I made those barrel terrain pieces but er....

*shrugs* they kinda fell apart... Like, really fell apart.... Damned bad batch of glue

I have been thinking about adding some other terrain pieces but um.... Im a lazy bum and I want to paint my terrain pieces before I make any more

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Well, I would but theres a problem with that...

Ive got some fantasy projects that I need to work on... And all the ruins to repair. And movies to see...

    Er...

Guess I should move them up on my priority list huh?

If by movies you mean the new Avengers film (or Avengers Assemble in some countries) then that should be on top of the priorities!

From the movies I mentioned the Avengers are indeed priority #1

Ive got plenty of time at the moment but when I do I tend to waste more time then activly use it...

Its something that runs in my family apparently

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

I know right? Actually got the movie planned for today as my buddy got an early break from work

Il just see that as a reward for my tale of x gamers project For necromunda ive got some repairs to make and ruins to build... Also worthy of a (movie)reward the way I see it

    -edit-

Also throwing some kindling on the fire to keep their gaming rivalry going should ensure they both show up this weekend

Oh this game should include a (real life) psychology phase between games! It should be mandatory, its so much fun

Psychology? By that do you just mean trash talking between turns?

Enjoy the film dude, bring some sweets as it's a long one!

Well... Yea that is what I mean but for some reason they arent communicating between eachother but are talking to me

The avengers were AWESOME!!!!! if anyone is doubting about the movie, dont and just go were probably going again next week! I think its been a long while ago that everyone in the theatre were laughing at the same time about jokes in a movie clearly a piece of art!

I know right!? Joss Whedon's writing style just shined in that film, I don't think any other film will top except maybe for the Hobbit later on this year.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

I think movies will have to pull some serious weight to match this movie in brilliance yes

Played a "the raid" scenario against Dennis yesterday and Niels couldnt make it sadly. Rolled for old battle wounds and sadly meatgrinder couldnt make it, the rest were all present. I got 4 sentries and Dennis got 8 gangers. We setup the terrain before we decided on the terrain and used the piece with 3 barrels as the water still. I placed it on top of the centre ruin to make it hard to reach Il split this report up in 2 pieces (like last time) so I can give a better idea of how the battle went down (and pictures! yay! Must show pictures! )

For sentries I picked Jennie (initiative 5), Shorty (2 wounds and good in combat), Duncan (sniper placed on the roof next to the water still) and Bill (2 wounds, toughness 4, grenade launcher)

As with the game against Niels, Dennis was circling around my gang. But instead of surrounding them he wanted to hit them from 2 angles. He split his gang up in 2 portions. One portion moved to the ruin to the left of the centre ruin. Hed have an elevated posistion and it was close to his table edge so he could escape fairly quikly if he needed to. The others moved to the centre ruin from the right. In the 2nd turn we got a very close call as Jennie suddenly turned around and got 11 inches of vision. 1 Inch short of his gangers who were hiding behind a low wall. This caused that part of his raiding party to stall.

The rest kept up with the same pace and they were in posistion sooner then the rest were. A turn after they were in posistion Jennie moved 3 inches and I moved her towards them. They were just short half an inch out of her initiative range and Dennis decided to go all out now rather then risk her spotting them the next turn. He charged Jennie and hit her down with his big axe. The alarm wasent raised and the other sentires dident notice anything.

Confident that he could now continue with his plan he ran inside the tower that had the water still on its top. Moving inside the 5 inch radius around Bill, who spotted him and forcing him to either kill Bill or risk the alarm. He fired the left portion of his raiding party at him and the first shot raised the alarm, causing him to shoot all of his gangers as he dident need to be carefull now anymore... He took Bill OOA, pinned Shorty and put a wound on Duncan. He was inside the tower that housed my water still though with a S5 big axe...

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Part deux. Fred and Leo were the first reinforcements I put on the table. I ran Fred as fast up the field as he could move. Leo I also ran 8 inches as he had hip shooting. He fired at one of the gangers he could see and even hit him (needing a 5 to hit no less) but sadly failed to wound. All shorty and Duncan could do was get up in my ending phase.

Dennis first turn, he charged Duncan with the ganger who was inside the tower. The pinned fighter dident get up and they all the other gangers ran off out of line of sight of Leo and the other gangers. Dennis did something unexpected in the shooting phase as he shot at his own ganger and Duncan on top of the tower. He was afraid his ganger couldnt take on Duncan as the latter had a sword and he actually hit his own ganger... Twice. Wounding him and putting him down. Duncan then took him out of action after that.

Demo turn two. I put Shorty on overwatch, as I was expecting a charge next turn. Alex and Dave came up on the board. I put Alex on overwatch. Duncan fired his bolter at Brag (dennis his heavy) and put a wound on him. He dident fall down the ramp he was on. Fred was still a good turn from flaming distance sadly...

Dennis turn two. One of his gangers Face, moved up on the tower and raised his BS2 boler at Duncan and put a wound on him at point blank range. The rest were hiding around the corner of the tower. He also send his gang leader inside the tower. The gangers underneath the tower were on overwatch.

Demo turn three. I got Jose and one of my new juves as reinforcements. I moved Jose in the far corner where he could (hopefully) take a shot at Face and pin him before he would put Duncan out of action sadly he was an inch or so out of range...Leo moved to the side and could see one of the gangers on overwatch. He was outside of the shotguns range but they were in range of his lasgun and he shot and put a wound on one. Fred moved 4 inches and tried to fire his flamer but his target was out of range. He could hit another one though but since we were unable to find in the rulebook if it was a legal move (his initial target was out of range and he one he could hit wasent visible to him) we rolled it off. Diceroll meant the hit wouldnt play out sadly. I renembered that we had decided that both doors on the tower could be used though and that if you moved into the tower when someone was in it youd get a charge off! So I charged Shorty inside the tower so he could charge Dennis' gang leader. I put his gang leader out of action (also as im typing this I renember that we forget to see what would happen to Duncan. If he stayed down, get a flesh wound or go OOA I mean.... Why im renembering is of small importance but could have effected the game...)

Dennis turn three. He charged and put Duncan out of action. He ran with the rest of his gang towards his table edge. He used his 2 inch move to get into contact with the water still.

Demo turn four. Charged Face with Shorty. Dave fired his D3 shots at the closest ganger. Getting a mighty 1 shot and missing it () Bill was in range now though and he put a wound on the ganger that was still down (Leo put a wound on him the previous turn) and Bill turned it into a flesh wound (how does that work anyway?) In combat with Face I won the combat by 1, put a wound on him with the S5 axe but he passed his step aside save! Alex fired his heavy stubber in my own turn but missed all his shots.

Dennis turn four. He was testing for bottle but stayed put thanks to LD8. The rest of his gang fled even further. In combat I got a draw against Face. Thanks to his huge axe though I won the combat, wounded him, he failed his step aside save and I put him out of action.

Demo turn five. Duncan dident have another ranged weapon so I ran him after the enemy gangers. Bill opend his flamer up on the ganger again and put a wound on him a second time. This time he was down! Shorty shot at a ganger and hit but failed to wound. Alex had to move to see a target and went into overwatch again.

Dennis turn five. He voluntarily bottled.

So with both having 3 people with wounds we rolled off to see what happend to them.

    My injuries:
Duncan lost an eye (making my sniper now even more useless then he already was.... Even with BS4 he always failed to hit anything )
    Bill got a head wound
Jennie got an arm wound (either dead or the "dead result" that I rolled for... making it a pretty clear choice I think!)

    Dennis' injuries:
His gang leader got a chest wound (goes well with his old battle wound...)
    Face got a head wound
Reaper got an old battle wound (the one that knocked Jennie out of action)

We did get some nice advancements:
Dave got Medic (I swear he will NEVER get a stat increase again )
Fred was 1 XP away from an advancement
    Alex got +1 LD
Duncan got +1 Wound (apparently losing your eyes mean you get tougher...)
Jose dident go anything (that effected the game) and dident get an advancement
    Leo got the specialist skill
    Meat dident play
    Bill dident get an advance
    Shorty got the disarm skill
JJ got 1 xp, dident get an advance
Max dident do anything but got 6 xp and an extra BS (woot! )
Grunt got the rapid fire skill, Thinking of how I wanted to kit him out I gave him rapid fire: shotguns

    Dennis got:
His leader dident get an advance
    Brak got the armorer skill
T-bone his 2nd heavy dident join the game
    Reaper got disarm
    Lucky dident get an advance
Mackey is 1 xp short of an advance
    Junior got 1 WS
Face got +1WS, +1 LD and +1I (after he lobo chipped him, thus giving him initiative 2)

For rare items I only rolled things I couldnt afford. Paid Jennie and stashed the rest. Dident invent or get new terretories but could get another juve should I want him but choose not to take him.
Dennis invented 2 items. A smoke bomb and medi pack. HE rolled a silencer for rare item and bought that as well, stashed the rest of his credits.

And thats the conclusion! I won the scenario and my gang got crippled by serious injuries... Il have to think about that head injury and whatever or not I want to lobo chip it and sacrifice that Initiative of 5.... Bill has BS 4 and the specialist rule though so not lobo chipping it might mean il be giving that up instead...
