Having your own gaming room away from home sounds like a pretty good idea, here's hoping the rent isn't too much!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

It would be the best option for everyone I think... Sure it would cost some money but that way we all have to travel to get there. Its neutral ground sort of, noone has to ask permission from parents, girlfriends and whatnot. If we can manage to find a good central area then everyone would be traveling about the same distance which would cut down people complaining that they have to travel so far (eyeballing you here Niels )

Most of us have a storage problem of some sort and if we can all store a part of our collection, either model or terrain wise it would help as well. And last but not least. We can build a big table there without having to worry about storage space!

Im really looking forward to it actually Now we just need to all get our butts of the couch and actually find one of those storage units.... Hmmm

Moving back to my gang and my terrain project. Im seriously bummed out about the plastic glue. Going to see if I cant get better working glue tomorrow as this stuff wouldnt glue a fly to a flat surface

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Was yesterday (sunday) the "**** Demo over day" or something? I had 4 stores to go for 4 seperate items and all 3 of the stores were closed... One was even closed whilst the card at the door said it was open from 12:00 hrs till 16:50 hrs. And I was there at 14:30

So I have no glue to work on my gang/40K projects but I do have a new can of chaos black and new grass types (as the GW was the only store that was open )

Speaking of the new grasses, ive put them to good use. See pictures in the attachment as my work PC wont allow me to add them as normal pictures

Most terrain pieces have grass added to their bases. Ive added some texture to the "beach" around the toxic pool and added burned grass to it. Dont see any grass living for very long next to a pool of toxic waste

Ive added fungus/mold to several locations and healthy grass to others. Also added 2 new terrain pieces which are towers. Theyre somewhat smaller then the first one though but fret not. Il be adding taller ones later on

Everyone has a day where everything seems to be against them. Heck, I seem to have a year like that currently! Good to see work progressing on your terrain.

Know the feeling... Dident feel like picking up a brush today. Might get to it tomorrow or the day after. Lots of these terrain pieces dont need that much work to be completed

Think if I put my back into it I could finish 4 of them in a jiffy 5 if I also put in a little effort to put some plastic to the bases but then again, I need glue for that

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Yea it most defenitly is My dad promised to pick up the glue yesterday but due to a misunderstanding he dident. Today we had some people coming over so im not sure if he was able to get my glue today... Damn this full time job!!

Worked abit on a few towers today (yes MORE new ones! ) I took pictures but forget to take my cable with me so cant upload themm at the moment il get to that when I get home. Really liking how they are shaping up though

They should be really high risk high reward. Not to much cover if you dont count the higher elevation from the ramps so when you get your getting hit hard! Risk of falling down should also add some fun to our games. Im the only one who has had people falling down buildings. One time the ganger died and the other times the gangers were out of the game due to their lost wounds

And these towers are a few good inches taller

    -edit-

Updated photos. Also my dad dident forget the glue! HUZZAH!!! Started work on the ramps as well Added a picture of the concept for your vieuwing pleasure

Those ramps are shaping up nicely. Are you going to add some more wires and such to make the surface (of the pringle packagings) a bit more interesting?

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Cheers guys The ramps will get some mroe cosmetic changes. Il be adding a small edge to the sides and add a small block to the ends so it will be easier to attach them to the terrain pieces!

The towers themselves arent done either. I plan to add details to the one with 3 balconies (computer screens and such) the one with 2 platforms will get one huge computer looking thingy on the platform, il add raillings, ladders and some small details on the ground level. The one with the "bite" out of it will get some sort of computer-ish contraption added in the cavity, as well with some railings with a ladder leading to the platform. Im not to sure on the smaller U shaped one though. I think il add some railing near the ladder but keep the ledge empty as the ramps are supposed to connect there.

Il be adding pipes, wires etc to the towers as I see fit but arent sure yet how il go about it.

The ramps were nice and easy to add though and I think they complete the idea of the towers They are also about 10 inch long each meaning that they create a huge space in the centre of the table. Fill the gaps with smaller terrain pieces (I call them seasoning ) and youve got yourself a table with varying altitudes of cover!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

This project isent hold, im still adding to it daily guys. Just dont got much to show for it as im generally waiting 90% of my hobby time till the glue dries

Im also looking to see if I cant get my group to play more regulary one way or another or if we cant add some more gamers to the group as at the moment the group is rather small.

What I want is either a weekly or bi-weekly campaign where we have a healthy amount of gamers. If we got enough people joining I might take the mantle of GM to make sure we get some interesting scenarios every now and again or otherwise make sure people show for the games (which sadly seems to be necessary....)

The garage unit we were thinking of getting plays heavily to this We have "neutral ground" to play on. Hopefully a central location for everyone and provided we all chip in a place thats partly belonging to everyone I can think of no better way to tie it all together then with a campaign of some sorts

I have no problem providing a neutral party (gang or enforcers) if the guys dont feel like playing my 14 man strong Orlock gang il do it specialy for the newer gangs though. Playing your first game against a gang that has twice your gang rating cant be called fun exactly

Now to hope I can lure some people over to the Necromunda side

Do you have a local game store you can put a flyer up in? Official GW stores probably won't do this but an independent shop might.

You have my sympathies. I am trying to organise a campaign just now but work commitments and other real world stuff keeps hindering everything. I can get myself and 2 otheres easily whenever is required. Trouble is I really want 6 regular players to stop stuff getting boring. I miss my younger days. It was so much easier when I was a student...

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Thanks guys. Im not to sure on the poster Astraeos... The only non GW store that I know off that attracts...well...gamers attracts alot of unsavory people as well. Lots of people that I know for certain I dont want in our campaign... Then theres (apparently mandatory) trolls and magic players there that are also pretty unfriendly to people they dont know.

I know what you mean Catferret. Im trying to bring the number of players up to about 6 or 7 (regular) players as well. We currently have 4, myself included and our gamers are pretty unregular at the moment. Its very normal for a month or even more time to be between our games

Only positive side of this is that I can work on my new terrain in peace

Tonight im meeting up with Dennis and a buddy at the pub. Maybe we can talk some more about the campaign, im not sure. The other guy is very into fantasy and a little into 40k. Perhaps we can make him exccited over the game!

Telling him there's an initial low model count could lure him in. Having to have a large amount at the start can be off putting for some.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Ok just got the word in that we are go for this weekend

On advice from the guys on Yakromunda im using the archeotech rush scenario. Its basicly what I had in mind, except written down on paper already also nice to see that they have suggestions on how to deploy as were generally unsure what to do in big FFA matches! I think il let everyone roll a D6 (or 2D6) highest one get to pick a table edge and use half to deploy in the centre . Then just deploy in that same order after its been established. Both times that we deployed like that I got the short end of the stick though but what the hell, the guys can use the advantage

Link to the scenario: click me!

Noone really has a use for an old ruin but know, one of us might get lucky and find a fuel rod

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

One use for old ruins is that they're not a big deal to lose. Sounds odd? Let me explain.

Consider this, you're playing the Gang Fight scenario and are getting mauled. Way too many gang members get injured while the opponents are barely getting scratched and you bottle. But because you lost a load and s/he didn't, one of your territories are now theirs!
They roll the dice and lo and behold, it's a six and Old Ruin was in the sixth territory slot.... So while you lost a territory, you lost an old ruin. You could've lost something better right?
So the more you have, the more chance you have of losing a crappy one!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

fair enough That is indeed a use for one Thought about that but compared to the D6x10 terretories id STILL rather get one of those

I actually got an old ruin a while back but gave them to another gang who could use them alot more then I could. Dont know if he added them to his gang roster though... If he hasent (and wont) guess il add it anyway as otherwise noone took it which was kinda off. We played for a terretory after all...

And this might sound off, but I kinda hope I get my butt kicked here Rest of the gangs are so behind in gangrating that its not all that fun anymore...

If that happens im either starting a whole new gang from scratch or am making that enforcer gang. Still on the fence on that one. Kinda want to make an Escher gang! Best excuse to add female chars to my collection if I ever saw one

Eschers are fun to play, Stealth and Agility skills are cool. A girl with leap and sprint can cross a lot of ground, I know that first hand!
Not to mention they have some great models!
