If you wanna make loot or objective markers, then maybe the crates from the battlefield accessories might be a good place to start? Mount them on large round bases, scatter a few shotguns, lasguns and pistols, maybe have some sticking out from under the lid of the box and that should give you some nice looking markers.
A bit big, but at least you'll be able to see 'em!

On the aside, have you seen the new Chaos Cultist models? They just scream Necromunda to me!

Oh yea defenitly saw those already ordered a box to be fair as well My brother has a deathwing army. So can just shove those dark angels over to him

I actually already have a loot marker like that. Made it a few years ago I just rarely use it (most likely because its er...lost somewhere)

I am looking to make some more crates and boxes that we can use to place as terrain. I made those barrels a while back and those were a big succes adding cover and looking great at the same time! Fits the theme of the game as well. Might make some specialy to place on the ramps, that way you can still get cover in some select places!

I'm tempted to run a Chaos Cult gang next time Rupert wants to organise a campaign after seeing this models!
A weapon swap here and there to get some lasguns and maybe a shotgun or two and I'm away!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Oh yea, can defenitly see alot of people doing that! Think ive also heard Fawful say he was going to add these models (or even replace, not sure) to his old gang! Its certainly a better way to get some nice looking plastic models to his gang He also has a chaos/traitor guard army so if he wont be using them in Necromunda he can always use them there Im also pretty happy with the kit as I was looking to add some scummers as NPC's to the scenarios Might have to remove the obvious chaos stars and such but other then that theyre not that hard to be converted I think.

On the other hand theyre limited edition models. Im sort of loathe to convert to much on those

Game dident happen today, parents forget to tell me some friends of the family were coming over. Fawful was the only one who dident cancel as well. SO no matter how you slice it that teamgame wouldnt have happend either way! Still not happy about it but what can you do...

I thought there was limited editions with a regular one coming later?
I hope so, I can live with missing the Chaplain, but not with missing all the other stuff! And Mists of Pandaria is out this month too, with me being me and reordering the collector's edition....

I'd hardly call them friends of the family if they disrupt Necromunda!

Only the chaplain is limited edition, rest of the models will be around until the next edition of 40k is released. Plenty awesome cultists to convert for a while yet. I'm still waiting for my boxes to arrive. Had planned to cut up a load of those guys this weekend.

It was even worse! Afterwards they left, taking my parents with them and forcing me to cook my own meal! Oh, only the chaplain was limited? I looked at the website and dident see the normal box so figured the entire thing was collectors....

In that case il chop some up

I had intended to make a gang of scummers for the campaign but I think il just use these guys Dont really need much work to make them a gang... Might cover up the chaos marks but other then that il just leave them as is tbh! Perhaps a weapon swap here and there. They loook pretty good as they are though!

What gang rules should I use for them? Most got their faces covered so Cawdor counts as I guess?

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Figure you could easy use them as any of the following.

Cawdor: Ferocity heavy religious types. Pretty obvious response.
Orlock: Still Ferocity heavy. Cultists can come from all walks of life so the balanced skill set makes sense here too.
Goliath: Brute force and ignorance. This cult wouldn't care about subtlety. Maybe Khorne favours them?
Delaque: A lot of cults keep quiet and sneaky for years until required to cause havoc.
Escher: Some sneaky stuff, same explanation as the Delaques. Maybe they use a lot of drugs to explain the speed thing.

You could try using them as Redemptionists. That's what he Chaos Coven gang was based off.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

I think il count them as a normal gang and keep them around for story purposes For rules purposes il treat them as a Cawdor gang the model all got their faces hidden after all and fluffwise the Cawdor are geligious fanatics, which a bunch of chaos cultists most likely are as well Only thing im unsure of is if I should introduce them as is or give them extra equipment and/or advancements to give them somre more bite...

Taking a look at the beatifull models I think il keep them as is Theyre abit to gorgious to adjust I feel allthough, some look abit to identical... Perhaps a weapon swap is in order lots of different combat weapons in there like flails, clubs, knives and even a (power) axe

Im setting a goal to complete my Necromunda terrain (all of it) by the end of next week, its all starting to get abit annoying as its taking up like... 50% of my floor space currentrly whilst its intended to go in my closet space After that il finish my gang and then im moving to a 40K project.

I suppose you could swap the double's auto guns for shotguns or lasguns to add some variety. Same with the repeats auto pistols, swap 'em for laspistols or whatever you have within reach!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Well this log got something of a back footing :|

Ive finished a few terrain pieces but the pictures got lost in the warp somewhere.... In other news I might get a few games of Necromunda snuck in between all the 40K action were having now

Also rolled to see how much credits id get for Dennis, which was 20. Not bad if I do say so myself For the next 2 captives im trying to get Dennis and Niels both in for a sort of "team up on Demo" battle. Both captives on the field, I get 2D6 sentries (D6 for each) and they come in from opposite sides. Everything else about the scenario is the same, except with 2 parties trying to spring captives free instead of 1 If I can manage to get both at 1 place at the same time that is...

So im not holding my breath

Thought you'd been a bit too quiet recently! That's an interesting idea for a scenario, never seen one like that before.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Thanks mate. Yea the idea is a pretty cinematic one. One gang wants to retrieve their lost men the other wants them for extortion/sacrifice/organ "donation"/just to pester Dennis

Only Niels showed up though so we decided to play something else First off, pictures of the new table setup (which made us go: ooooooooooo shiney! actually)

Then we started looking what mission would be fun to play. Since we never use the 2D6 table in the book we took a look at that and noticed the grudge match. We decided to play a grudge match with 6 loot markers (each worth D6x10) to break in the new terrain dont think Niels had any problems with that (in hindsight might have been abit much...)

I rolled for my old battlewounds and Meat dident show (think thats a few games in a row that he dident show for one reason or another? ) the rest were all present!

We diced off for deploying first and got to set up first. I split up my forces in 2 big groups, making a left and right flank. Id split up several models to various sides. Niels likewise spread out his forces but im not privy to his dastardly plans so I had no clue what sort of tactic he thought up

We rolled for first turn and Niels won it (again! grr) he moved his entire gang forward, setting his heavy stubber up in the first floor of a ruin (we placed the ruins abit out of the deployment zone so we couldnt start on an elevated posistion, but they were close enough that we could move on them turn 1, if we ran) no shooting Niels' first turn.

My first turn I was staring at the prospect of moving my right units to the left, moving into range of Niels' heavy stubber next turn or I could circle right and avoid it. So I chose the latter Fred and Bill (who suffered from frenzy this game) moved up the building I had placed the right group behind, the rest moved on the ground floor. On my left flank I advanced as fast as possible as well, everything ran. I had run Duncan but thanks to his hip shooting he could still fire a weapon. Down the field he could see a shoulder part of the torso of one of Niels' gangers. He was in heavy cover and just barely within the maximum range of 36 inches (thank you marksman skill) but I took the shot anyway. I rolled a 6 and hit. The first ammo roll gets ignored due to my workshop. I put a wound on the poor bugger (Verion, a juve, think it was his second game...) he stayed down though. Duncan was the only one taking a shot in the first turn...

His 2ndturn he picked up the loot marker with his mad scientist, carl "mad doc" and moved off Twitch and another nearby ganger. He ran a ganger into the cratered building to get a nearby objective. On my left flank he found his heavy actually couldnt see anything at all, due to all the heavy cover and seeing as I wasent going to waltz in his field of fire he moved him off from his high perch again. His sniper climbed up on the second floor of a nearby tower and would be in a prime posistion to fire his gun next turn! He gets his plasmagunner on the first floor of the tower

I keep moving on the right flank, placing Herman and Grunt underneath a ladder of a 6 inch tall tower. The rest of the right flank stay somewhat in cover and I face them to provide some covering fire. On my left flank I place a team off 3 to make a rush towards a nearby tower next turn. Jennie can be seen through the window by Niels' gangers but she would get cover (hopefully heavy, but at the very least light) And I run Alex and JJ to provide covering fire next turn. With Bill I try to take a pod shot at his plasmagun heavy but am just an inch and a half out of range. I find Duncan has nothing to fire at (down at the models field of vision I couldnt see diddly...) I moved Fred to the edge of the balcony and put him on overwatch.

Niels' third turn Im not sure what I did but I think I forget to fire Fred's heavy stubber his sniper moves to the top of the tower and tries to take out Ducan (my sniper reflectivly) and is short about an inch or 3/4 of an inch. Not much anyway... His plasmagunner climbs up as well but used a run move and so cant fire yet. He climbs up near the objective in the cratered building and moves Twitch and another ganger on my right, behind a small 3 inch tower. His heavy stubber moves to the buttom of that 9 inch tower.

My third turn, I open up with Fred causing 3 wounds on his Sniper, causing him to tumble down 1 floor (failed initiative test) but hes only down from all the damage. I put Jose and Bill on overwatch. I move Duncan abit more to try and get a good shot but the only thing he could see was Niels' sniper. I was basicly setting up 3-4 characters to fire at that sniper because I know how terrible my rolling could be and I rolled nothign short of amazing. 2 6's and a 5 to hit. Pass all the 2+ ammo rolls. Herman and Grunt run up the tower to grab the objective next turn. On my left I do the same with Jennifer. JJ starts climbing up a tower to provide covering fire. With nothing else to shoot at, and the rest all on overwatch my turn is over.

Niels' turn 4, with things abit hairy now he decides to choose the better part of valour and split. He runs off with Twitch and the other guy but the other guy triggers Bill's overwatch who hits him (6 to hit...) and wounds him once (he had 2 wounds) Twitch keeps (wisely) running and leaves his henchmen behind! Niel puts his plasmagunner on overwatch to shoot at Herman (who is in heavy cover now) and Niels runs his heavy stubber heavy up on the top floor grabbing the objective, and setting up behind a low wall for heavy cover. If he starts shooting next turn im in trouble! his sniper is down to a flesh wound and his mad scientists has a fit of stupidity (yay) and wanders off 4 inches right in the open!

My turn 4 I move off Duncan to get a clear shot at the confused scientist. Hit him but fail to wound. Herman grabs the objective and triggers Niels' overwatch, but hes short an inch of range! I move grunt to the side (still out of range of those 24 inches) and prepare to fire at the downed guy in the open (which I forget to do...) On my left Jennifer grabs the nearby objkective and runs back to friendly lines. The 3 models in the centre of the table split up. Jennie and Leo run up the tower to grab the nearby objective next turn. Max moves off to a nearby barricade to try and stop Niels' objective runner in the cratered building next turn. I fire Fred at Niels' heavy and get 3 shots. I roll 2 6's and a 1. Bill is within the stray shot distance and gets hit. I wound him and roll the dice to see if he falls down. With his I5 im not worried. I roll a 6 and he tumbles down.....

    Wait what?

Niels rolls a D6 for wounds and rolls a 1, and the hit wounds. Bill still has a third wound remaining luckily! The 2 remaining hsots from Fred take off both wounds on Niels' heavy who also tumbles down 6 inches. I roll a 1 for the number of wounds and fail to wound (?!?!)

Niels voluntarily fails his bottle test. Due to the fact that he (more or less) got what he came for (loot markers) and things were starting to get to hairy for his tastes!

He rolled for both downed gangers and they went out of action. His heavy got a full recovery, his dude who got shot turn 1 got shell shock (pretty fluffy, must scare the **** out of people beeing hit by such an impossible shot!!! )

I got a whopping 105 credits, Niels got 115. I paid Jennie and got a plasma grenade and carapace armour for rare trades! I still have to update my gang roster but it was a fun game! ^.^

    -edit-

    Pictures were broken.

Also aside from 1 or 2 shots all shots hit on a roll of 6.... Thats pretty freaky!

Looks like you both got a nice lot of rewards after that game! Lucky you getting carapace armour too! Best I ever got was mesh.

Oooh! People finally turned up to play!

Seems like you did well out of it. Plasma grenades are dead useful for blocking line of sight and movement as well as just killing people. I love 'em. Carapace armour is good if you don't mind the initiative penalty.

It was a very good game for me, in every inmaginable way... It was rather one sided though. Like I mentioned every time he caught my with my trousers down (no cover, dangerous weapon aimed at me) he was out of range. My luck on the other hand was that (aside from 1 or 2 shots) all hit on 6's. Passed ever (2+) ammo roll and proceeded to pick his gang apart. The damage overall was pretty limited but he dident have much breathing space. I had 7 more gangers then he did!

I actually got a set of all the armor pieces in my gang brings me with a small dilemma though. Whom do I give it to? Mesh is (imho) the best set as it doesent reduce your initiative! Carapace is also bulky, specialy compared to mesh and flak (which is often described as cloth or a special sort of clothing lining, mesh is basicly chain mail....) Since I want to make my models as much WYSIWYG as possible I would need to remodel the er...model. Which means replacing models. Which means more work while my gang already is incomplete

Im thinking of making the new starter set cultists into a admech gang Ruleswise a van Saar gang (due to techno skills) as there are no excisting rules for an admech gang im thinking of using spare necron parts, armour plates and bitz and gubbinz to add that mechanicus feel to them models dont got that much chaos icongraphy on them as far as I could tell....

This doesn't sound like Necromunda to me! Are you sure we're playing the same game?

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Hahaha I meant every time he caught me off guard. I had made a mistake or took a risk placing my models, he moved his models, angled them up to fire and when he measured distance I was sitting at 25 inches against his 24 inches range. Or his marksman (36 inch range) who just narrowly couldnt shoot at my marksman because he was out of range by less then an inch! All these things lead up to that noone of my gangers were shot at (well they were shot at but things were out of range..) and the only damage I suffered were the 2 wounds on Bill from Fred's friendly fire

Truth be told if he just played more carefully and would have been more "safe" with his shooting he would have able to cause alot more damage then he did. His marksman had over half my gang in range (and most without cover), he moved to the top of the ramps while it was painfully clear that he would get no cover where he was placing his models. And he was on the tower with the most cover to boot! (small waist high walls)

All that said my gangrating is simply far to high here. I had almost twice his number (if I dident fail that one old battle wound completly twice his numbers) and have alot more "bling" then all the other gangs. Like ive said a few times now I want to focus on another gang. Should be more of a challenge for both parties

Watch your wording dude, thought you were playing a rude version of hide and seek or something!

The AdMech based on the Chaos Cultists could be an interesting idea. They already have autoguns and a heavy stubber!
