    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Biggest gripe id have is that I wouldnt have readily acces to shooting skills. While its not the end of the world but some skills are so very good (think I only dislike crack shot...) that having hardly acces to them (only leaders, heavies and on double 1' s or double 6' s) that im afraid il get my **** shot off before the girls even get near combat. And their available skills and starting weapons are pretty combat orientated... Mind Ive let Goliath and Cawdor gangers choose shooting skills to so I dont think they will make to much of a deal of it... Something il have to think about...

That said a little terrain update!

My coolant tower, as ive dubbed it. It not cooling anything obviously but the name refers to what the computers are controlling, which is the levels of coolant and amount of coolant thats beeing pumped in other machines... Or something along those lines...

Im currently also trying to add some pipes to the " back" of the structure but the glue is giving me a hard time perhaps a picture tomorrow!

Next up ive added alot of details to "the working tower" and yes il have to find a better name for it... I basicly would see this tower have workers on it if the underhive wasent such a ruined place some computers on the lower platform and plenty of space to put half a gang

The terrain doesen have TO much cover though as the walls are low and one part of the wall is even transparent! The upper part only has low walls around the ladder mount. The rest is flat as this is supposed to be a central hub if you will. The ramps would use this one (together with the coolant tower) as a point to connect to even farther away towers

Aside from my original tower (the one with 3 balconies) theyre all finished. I dont want to add TO MUCH detials to them tbh. Less is more in alot of cases and I intend to do alot with the paint like adding graphitti and such. Proving to be a very fun project!

Well Escher, Cawdor and Goliath are meant to be combat oriented! And why do you need shooting when you have a girl that can cross the board and be in someone's face by the end of turn 2? You can't shoot her if she's stuck a chainsword in your gut!
Not to mention the Ambush skill, hiding and overwatch, together at last!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Yea shooting skills aside their speed and agile movement should make them a whole different threat then the guys are used to

Game got delayed a week due to extreme temperatures. 27-30 degrees celsius is a killer temperature to play a game in

Maybe (just maybe) I will play Dennis tomorrow for his rescue missions. Fawful cant make it sadly so no archeo tech rush. Not much progress on the towers. Ive coated them in a layer of textured paint so I can start working on their paintjobs. Have been working on the 2 new juves and hope to be able to show progress on them soon! Herman is actually complete but want to show him next to Jennifer

Think il test the waters to see if I cant get some more people to join after all. Ive had 2 people show an interest in joining but havent heard from them in a while. They were both busy with various things so il check up with them soonish if they want to give the game a try.

Eh no mate, just normal textured paint

Not gaming today. Its even hotter then yesterday If the weather forecast for tomorrow is anything to go by though tomorrow it will be about 5-6 degrees cooler. Maybe then, but im not holding my breath here. We will be gaming after working hours and I generally dont feel like doing... Much of anything then.

Would like to do the rescue missions before the archeotech rush and im sure Dennis wants his leader back though

There we go! This delightfull chap almost looks the real deal Hes just missing a monocle. He'll have to earn it first though (ganger status) That little walking sttick of his will count as a club when I get enough credits to buy it for him!

    And then, Jennifer *drum rolls*

So... Yeah, she doesent look very feminine now does she? I did alot to give her abit more feminie physique though! I made her legs thinner, made her waist thinner, cut some of those oversized muscles off her arms and added a bust (tried to make it look like theyre underneath her shirt, god now I understand why GW is so horrible at sculpting woman. Its rediciously hard to get to look right I hope the paintjob makes it look somewhat decent....

In case you guys noticed, yes I used male parts for this conversion. Simple reasons beeing:
-First and foremost that I want her to look like a part of the gang. So that means wearing the same (sort of) clothes.

-Second, the GW branch isent exactly known for its female (plastic) models and the dark eldar Wyches look WAY different from anything imperium related. She would be...uh....obviously stand out!

-Third, I dont see gangers as beeing very friendly folk to be around. Yes they look after their own but if one of their own isent pulling their weight im pretty sure they would " straighten them out" pretty quikly as well. Life in the underhive would be pretty hard and manual labour would be for everyone I inmagine. Dont think the woman down there are polishing their nails and talking gossip all day. Theyre working their arses off and killing and fighting alongside the men. So in short, they would be pretty tough and strong just like the other gangers!

The torso is the only thing I dident slim down. Its supposed to look like the vest is just making her look big and burly and when you look at the other details. As soon as I add the long hair im sure she will look abit more the part

    Thoughts?

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Herman looks hilarious in a good way, I can almost imagine him with a posh british accent! Okay, I know Herman isn't a particularly British name (I think it's german maybe?).

Jennifer though... go and google female bodybuilder.
Okay I'm no sculptor but as an artist http://dragon-the-tribrid.deviantart.com/ (be warned, most of that stuff I've drawn is ancient and I can do a lot better now) I can tell you a lot about creating women in art. First up using a male body as a base is a big mistake, unless you want her wearing a huge suit of armour I wouldn't have even considered that. The last chancers have a pair of female characters and I think Rocket girl without the missile launcher might've fitted in. There's a female catachan with grenade launcher floating around that used to turn up in special weapon blister packs.
I know GW isn't renowned for female plastics, but Wood and Dark Elves have female torsos as do Eldar guardians and Dark Eldar warriors (Wyches don't have to be your only stop).
It may even have been a better idea to get some Escher girls even and try sculpting the Orlock's vest and cargo pants over them (while removing those wild hairstyles).

Yea I know what you mean about the body guilder

I could try swapping the torso out for one of those Wyches' corsets but like I said id prefer if he looks as much like one of the gang as possible. Dark elves and guardians though look abit to alien or spikey for my taste though....

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

I actually thought of a wonderfull reason why the Wych isent such a bad idea after all!

Bodygloves. A widespread item in the Imperium and the van Saars are also pretty renown for using them Whos to say a disgruntled daughter for a wealthy hiver cant go downhive to piss her dad off, only to find its pretty cool down here? Yay! Found fluff for my female juve! Only if its because I was looking for a reason why shed be wearing a leather corset

Ive reworked the basic form, and slimmed the arms down even further so that they dident look so off on the body anymore. The arms still about twice as thick as the actual Wych arms but I wont be using those as they dont got the proper shapes that I need and the armor with Slaaneshi icons is abit... *cough* not what im looking for...

The model looks femenine now. Alot more slender then the other gangers and with some further GSing the model should look fantastic I intend to use GS to give her hair to cover up the alien back and weird thingies hanging from the belt. Some Ugg's for boots () and probably some work on the legs to make them look like shes wearing stockings or such!

    here is her current look:

(and yes, I DO know her right arm looks like it belong to a orang guitang. Its been fixed but my camera wont take pictures with 5% battery power mesky camera.... The hand flamer is also a blood angel hand flamer so in case your wondering why it looks eh... Huge. Its because it is to her!!

    And 2 comparison shots:

Meat and Jen both have the same right arm, but her arm has been cut down abit. Inmagine the bulge on her shoulder gone as well and thats how she basicly is now. And then Grunt and Jen. Both have a somewhat identical pose but Jennifer is obviously the girl here When I give her some nice long flowing red locks and the other green stuffin is done im hoping she will be a fine looking juve!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

When all the Dark Eldar-y stuff is cut off them, the Wyches don't look too out of place in Necromunda. Here's something I did a long time ago- http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...ash-conversion
Although I hate to keep nitpicking but I wouldn't have tried using the Catachan arms, unless you're gonna sculpt some really puffy sleeves onto her!

Yes yes I know... Like I said ive made the arm (right in particular) alot less bulky then the picture shows, il see if I cant post it tonight... Thing is though ive got a new glue and its the complete opposite from the GW glue in that it melts the plastic together... Be carefull what you wish for I guess

I can swap the arms but it will just make the handflamer look even more rediciously oversized.... Also it will reverse the opse, not sure if it would look ok... Dont know what to do here

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Dennis tried to rescue... Dennis today! We setup at his place and placed some terrain on his kitchen table. We dident exactly measure it but it was about 4 by 4 I think. He rolled for his amount and got snakeyes. I told him to reroll and he got 4. I rolled and got 5. I took all 3 of my juves, Bill and Jose. Since Dennis only got a hand full of gangers I figured id pick an somewhat easy location to put him (so it wasen nigh impossible to reach, at first I wanted to place him ontop of a 2 story building...)

I setup all 5 of the guys around him making a sort of protective "bubble" and Dennis came in from the table edge closest to them! Oops! He wasted no time and ran as fast as he could towards the center (where I was holding him in some rubble) The guys started derping around as per ussual except for Jennifer who turned in the right direction.

After waiting for a good oppurtunity to move his gangs (as in none of my were looking in his direction and after moving my memebrs about 90% of the time) he ran towards the centre. First hiding behind nearby rubble and hiding and then crawling REALLY close. He shot a silenced autopistol at a ganger and pinned him. Since the rulebook says nothing of raising the alarm except for from enemy shooting, combat and spotting we figured they all forget beeing fired at is a bad thing so they dident raise the alarm. The next turn my gangers moved in the right direction and looked in the right direction but were a few inches short of spotting. Dennis decided to go all out with his shooting. His heavy with heavy stubber was on the top floor of a 2 story building, he had a BS5 ganger with boltgun on another first story and he had 2 gangers about 8 inches (give or take) away from Dennis.

He rolled his shooting, needed a 2 to hit (BS3 with short range on pistol) which he off course did. He dident wound. He fired the second autopistol (he had a ganger with 2 pistols and gunfighter) at the same guy. Hit but dident wound. No alarm raised. He fired at Jennifer with a boltgun (from the BS5 guy) hit but dident wound. And he raised the alarm. He fired his heavy stubber at Bill and wounde him twice but he still had a wound remaining. His heavy stubber was also out of ammo.

In came Duncan and Dave. Jose fired at his his gunfighter, hit and wounded. I rolled a down result and decided to reroll and got a flesh wound instead (D' OH) Duncan fired at the silenced autopistol ganger and he only pinned. Dave fired his plasmagun on full power and failed to hit (pesky haevy cover!)

At this point we were a good amount of time in the game. Dennis' little brother was having a party (so lots of noise) he had work in the morning and the dice were taking a piss at him. He asked if he could voluntarily bottle. Couldnt find anything in the rules but I understood so we stopped the game.

What a cheeky game... Lots of random herp a derp moments with the sentries but other then that the dice were awfull! It really ruined the fun. Dennis did a few "what if" rolls to see what could potentitaly happen if he played on. Boltgun 2+ to hit. Miss. Autogun from heavy, 3 or 4 to hit (cant recall) miss and his other 2 autpistol gangers on the floor. IF they could fire, hit and no wound....

    Right...

For me grunt became a ganger (only need 1 XP) and got +1 attack, Jennifer got 3 XP, Herman 1 () and Grunt 6 (the one needing only 1 XP gets 6 ) Dave got an advancement, his 3rd attack. Bill got gunfighter. Jose got +1S. Duncan only got 1 XP so miles away from an advancement.

Dennis got +1 attack on his heavy stubber heavy, his silenced autopistol juve got hip shooting, his boltgun (semi) sniper got +1LD and his temporary leader got +1 BS for a total of 4.

Hmm did I say temporary? Make that pernament he dident free Dennis so off to the slavers with him! I agreed to give him back his powersword though, he wants it for backstory purposes and its not like il miss it all that much. The rest of his gear is another story though! He had a shotgun with manstopper and bolt shells. Smoke bombs and infra goggles. Grunt became a ganger and has rapid fire shotgun so 2 guesses what hes getting Not to sure on the bombs and goggles though....

We dident roll for to much endgame stuff. We did income really quikly, rolled for inventors, juves from settlement and Jennie looked for a terretory. She found me slag... Uh..Yay? The other rolls got me a healthy 75 credits and Dennis got 55. -15 for Jennie's services. I intend to buy Herman a club, Jennifer a sword but im waiting to see my rare items first! With that gear from equipped on Grunt though my gangrating is 3025 now...

Man I need to move to a new gang quikly its somewhat sucking the fun out of the game to be honest.

Funnily enough fluffwise this scenario made perfect sense. The smashers werent here to liberate their leader, they just got that shiney powersword of his and buggered off

seemd like a fun game! i just had my first game the other night with two of my friends Im "recruiting" into the game. i didnt play myself but directed them. we did a ton of mistakes but had great fun. next time we'll be able to play a proper game i think. highlights where wildsnake willy being stabbed to death my a juve after charging it. a heavy bolter putting a ton of holes in a shotgun wielding ganger and both leaders boltguns run out of ammo before managing to kill anything.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Yea the random sentries are always a ton of fun I kept rolling 1's and 2's for some of the sentries and Dennis kept moving them away from the captive I in turn tried my best to keep the others close to him and every now and again one would switch over so they were ping ponged left and right

I wrote a little story about the battle in the campaign events. Think il do that after each game now

    here the link: click me!

Tried to incorporate the sentries abit in the story and found a fluff reason why Dennis would keep his powersword

Oh! And I might have a new addition to our group soon

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Should hold the archeotech rush scenario next saturday. Heres to hoping the weather is horrible so everyone will show Buddy of mine might also be there, the one I talked about a while back who might start a van Saar gang. If he does we will have 5 players present, not sure if I should join in as well... Having 5 gangs on the table might prove abit much. Perhaps better off spectating/supervising in that case

Got some things planned for the campaign after the bounty hunter missions. For starters the treacherous conditions seem to be a fun addition to add to our games It will make things like filter plugs and photo contacts more important and so I want to make those cheapter, and have respirators and photo visors give an immunity instead of reroll. I also want to allow silencers on autoguns but make the guns exoplode if they fail an ammo roll with silencer equipped (cause otherwise theyre abit to good I fear)

I also plan to add a risk of gangs getting outlawed to the game. Some scenarios will have an added risk of getting your gang outlawed added (like if they attack an guilder) and captives can be sold to slavers. With the rescue mission been fought against them instead of the other gang

This all if the guys are up for it offcourse. If they want to keep the campaign going as is thats fine by me as well. But since we house rule lots of things already I felt the changes will only increase the fun to our games

    Thoughts?

Looks like that game was fun, but you should've kept the power sword!
It could spice things up by allowing gangs to become outlawed. I've never experienced it myself but Savage Dominion was in a few scenarios where they were at risk if being outlawed. The lucky girls always got away though, even after shooting at Enforcers!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Game was indeed fun Always fun to see what the sentries are going to do for some I think ive only rolled higher then 3 once or twice, Dennis could move them every other time! At the start I wanted to move my sentries towards Dennis only to find I only had Jennifer move in their direction that wouldnt have ended well! Thus I has to move her back towards the center. Finaly Dennis got so close he could have cut Dennis loose. He fired at Grunt a dfull turn before the things without silencers started firing. Poor guy got hit 3 or 4 times but dident get wounded once! One of the sentries was watchin in his direction when he got hit 3 times by autopistols and dident bother to help him go team eh?

When he started firing though he only wounded twice, and both were done on a 3 wound model...AND caused his heavy stubber to run out of ammo.... Luck wasent on his side and it turned out to be "one of those" games... With the arrival of my marksman and leader he choose to keep the rest of his gang safe and ran for it. Since he was so close though id inmagine they were pretty close to the equipment stash hence why his forces have the sword. The sword is a deamon weapon fluffwise hence why he wants to keep it. It corrupting his gang and turns them into a chaos cult etc etc. Im also so far ahead of the others I can live with them having a few toys of themselves we still have to do the after game rolls for trade and such though....

Like I said ive planned the archeotech rush game for this saturday but like always its going to be a waiting game to see how many show. If only 1 or two show il just play the game and move on to planning the bounty hunter scenarios. Ive checked abit with my local GW and think il order some jungle swarms, rat swarms, giant rats, maybe a batswarm and possibly see if I cant get a dog or another to throw in a scenario! Who doesent like a dog? Think there were rules for adding a dog to a gang somewhere. Might be fun!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

If it was for fluff then I can see why you let him keep the power sword. The gang probably worship it or something like that.

There were indeed rules for adding doggies to your gangs. When you bought a dog you had to assign a ganger to be it's handler. That ganger then misses the next game while he trains the dog. I have a Mordheim witch hunter hound that I did seriously consider using, but to be honest it's bad enough when the girls die. I'd hate for a dog to die while in my gang!

Yes, I am the sort of person that's daft around dogs. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go fuss over my pet Greyhound.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Yea it was for fluff His gang is basicly a bunch of Goliaths getting corrupted by a deamon weapon. I think this is a nice starting point for his gangers to fall to the whispers of the blade though, now that he has a new leader Fawful is currently the only one who still has his original leader. Me and Dennis will have a leader who started as ganger and Niels one who started as a juve!

Might also be fun to include a little loot marker in our rescue missions. The loot marker would be the gear! You could then either free up the gear if the captive is to well protected (and perhaps the captive is to "damaged" to be much use anyway) and it would make it harder for the defender to keep both protected. Last rescue mission I just circled the captive (kinda logical but still) and waited for Dennis to make the first move. Perhaps have the marker set up at least 12 inch apart from the captive. That way the defender has to protect 2 markers to get the most out of the captured ganger and some strategy and tactical thinking would go into these missions. Currently where the captives gear is located is left abit in the middle as well.... It just magicly appears back on the ganger in the after game sequence...

Ive read the rules for dogs and dont think theyre broken or overpriced. Infact theyre rather easy to kill for a 30 credit investment but they dont cost the amounts of cash a hireling does! It will be fun to add the rules to the campaign

    Looking forward to this
