Well I like the rule itself But tbh the axe has so much more character

If I would get a roll on the special rules chart im not sure if I want a ranged ability or a further combat one... Since combat isent exactly very common in our games I think id favor the shooting ability...

I haven't seen a lot of combat in my games. Shame really as combat is one of the things Escher are meant to be good at!

Well the characters with the best advancements and skills are in combat (previous juves) whilst I hardly have any shooty skills or advancements

One of my juves got BS 3 though so im looking to get him a ranged weapon soon. He has also fast shot but sadly only 1 attack...

I think its pretty hard to get good shooting chars to...

Stats are the best thing to go for in my experience. Skills are just juicy extras on the side.

Yup, but youd need to get a stat roll for that

Most of the time that's what you'll usually roll though. But in my experience it's rarely the one you want!
But funnily enough every so often you get a ganger or a juve that develops in the right way! Roxanne has two techno skills, Charisma has developed a very leader-like profile, Jazz got BS4 after her first game and Lotus has 4 out of 6 agility skills!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Woah those are some awesome advancements

I had a game against Fawful today and it was alot of fun not as 1 sided as our previous game!

He got to choose the scenario and picked scenario 2, the loot counter scenario. We got 3 counters to place and Fawful could deploy his one first. He placed one in the centre in a big crater, I placed one in a building in the center (a a good 15-16 inches away from the centre of the board) and Fawful placed the 3rd one between the 2.

He won the roll for table board and deploying first and he spread his force out over his board, and I did something simular. I placed meat, Jennie and Jose on my right flank. Had my leader DD, Bill, Shorty and Alex in my centre. And had Leo and Duncan on my left. Fawful got first turn.

We thought it would be fun to alter the monster rolls abit. On a 6 the monster would still hit your opponent and on a 1 it would hit your own model (the damn thing only attacked me in my own turn though ) and at the endgame we thought it was bit much for the monster to kill off your models so turned it into an out of action result instead.

I rolled for old battle wounds and only my heavy (grrr) missed the battle.

Fawful's first turn. The monster attacked his leader and missed this turn. He ran up with most of his gang, noone beeing in range to shoot but his heavy. He shot at Shorty and pinned him.

My first turn, The monster dident do anything. I ran up as well. Moved Duncan and Leo from behind cover towards the windows where they could fire their weapons. Only my sniper Duncan was in range though and he fired at one of Fawful's gangers Ash, who was right in the open. But I missed the shot even while I only needed a 3 to hit... I had moved up JJ and froggy to go after the left loot counter soon.

Fawful's second turn, The monster dident do anything. He moved towards me some more, placed one of his gangers on overwatch and fired at Shorty again, but all shots missed! (Huzah!) He sent a juve at JJ and Froggy who were on their way to get a loot counter but he needed a 6 to hit and dident get it.

My second turn, the monster dident do anything. I moved up Jennie and meat on my right flank and moved within the overwatch range of the ganger. I had placed Jennie to be closer but sadly the ganger couldnt see him so he fired at meat and took him out of action My shooting pretty much missed everything... Duncan could still see ash, now in light cover but missed again! I have to say that I dident miss EVERYTHING! JJ shot at Fawful's ganger (and JJ is BS 2! I need a 7 to hit!) and downed him!

Fawful's third turn. I rolled for the monster and it backfired and hit Jose, who would miss my next turn sadly.. But at least he wasent out of action! His shooting was pretty uneventful. He fired his heavy at Bill who was hiding at a corner and downed him. Luckily his heavy stubber was also out of ammo now!! At my right flank he pinned Jennie. In the centre he was moving in a ganger to make a run for the loot counter next turn.

My third turn, the monster dident do anything. Froggy moved beside JJ to provide covering fire for the next turn whilst JJ took the loot counter. I shot at a 2nd ganger he took him down, failing his 2+ ammo roll!. I had placed him behind terrain abit so would benefit from cover myself if something else returned fire. The rest of the shooting was pretty uneventful. Bill recovered from beeing down to a flesh wound.

Fawful's fourth turn, the monster dident do anything this turn. His heavy was moving down from the building and his leader was also coming out of a little corner to do something now. He shot at Jennie missing everything. One of his gangers ran up to get the loot counter but was an inch short.

My fourth turn, the monster dident do anything. Duncan pinned (but dident wound) the ganger running towards the loot counter in the centre. JJ and Froggy used their movement to and move as much as possible to my board edge, ending behind a barricade. On my right flank I missed everything as well. Bill got up at the end of my turn.

Fawful's fifth turn. He was moving his leader and another ganger up to my left flank firing as they went. They dident hit anything.

My fifth turn, Bill moved towards the loot counter in the centre and flamed Fawful's ganger near the counter. On my right flank Jose FINALY hit one of his shotgun gangers behind the barricade and took him down and I ran my juves towards my lines to keep them out of Fawful's ranged firepower.

Fawful's sixth turn, the monster ate (downed) one of his gangers on my right flank. He shot at the 2 juves now hiding behind a barricade but missed. He would have to roll for bottle next turn!

My sixth turn, Stuff happend. Its a little hazy. Dont think I did further damage.

Fawful's seventh turn. He failed his bottle test! I think ive got some data mixed up (somethign happend in the fourth instead of third turn etc) but this was pretty much the gist of it!

Since all the 3 loot counters were on the board I earned an extra 20 credits! BOOYA

The only injury I had was on meatgrinder, who was captured. I also captured one of his gangers though so we exchanged prisoners. One of his men also lost an initiative.

    For advancements I got:
    My leader got T4.
    My 2nd heavy a further I.
    Jose got a further I.
    Leo got hip shooting.
Meat got +1 wound (since he was already T4 )
    Bill got killer reputation.
    Froggy got +1W
    and JJ got BS3.

With my income I paid Jennie, I bought smoke grenades for my leader (only 17 credits ) and I switched some of my weapons arround though. My Heavy stubber went from Fred to Alex. Missing that heavy stubber REALLY sucks! HE gave his lasgun to Jibberjabber (now BS3) and got Alex his autogun. Im considering also getting Froggy a better ranged weapon since hes also BS3 but im unsure if I should spend my income on that yet...

Was a most fun game! I think the loot coutner game is one of my favorites!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Good game! I've played scavengers with and without the monster, unfortunately I've never got a loot counter.
Why don't you get a lasgun for Froggy? They're pretty reliable, or if you want more punch a shotgun maybe?

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

I love the fact that autoguns give the same reliability as lasguns since ive got 2 armorers Looking at my gang sheat I just noticed that JJ had the fixer ability and I could have used that to re-roll 1 rolls for my income I got a total roll of 6 on 2d6 so I could have really used it!!

That said thanks to the loot counters I still got a very nice income

Im more or less saving money to get a plasmagun as a 2nd weapon for my 2nd heavy... If I get that worked out il free up a las/auto gun anyway

Ive added some pictures of the highlights in my previous post. I was sort of pressed for time when I was typing it out and completly forget to add them... ive added some pictures of the endgame in this post

Those city fight buildings work so well for Necromunda games don't they? We're using some in our campaign, along with some of the original card buildings and a couple of custom made bits.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

    Oh yea man, theyre brilliant!

I had the luck of getting an entire imperial sector box on one of my local GW's events (sort of lottery) which I used to get the majority of my buildings

Im in the process of making some custom terrain of my own for use in our games

Think of an odd crate here, a power generator there. Id love to be able to fill the board with some non GW terrain as well

As it stands I think we still dont have terrain for our games... On a 4" by 4" board we still have huge open gaps. When ive got that fixed perhaps getting into combat will start to be a viable possibility?

Could possibly be more of a chance. Necromunda is best when the board is as claustrophobic as possible!

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Hmmm more terrain should fix it abit then Problem our terrain currently has is that the betweenybits are generally not covered by terrain since everyone is one some piece of elevated terrain

SO....If your not directly behind some piece of terrain your not getting heavy cover. Light cover tops and more often then not your not even getting that

Mind it goes both ways so generally noone is safe its just a shame that most of us are getting close combat advancements that at this rate will never be used...

    Must fix asap

It helps abit that noone has time for a game in the upcoming future. Will allow me a breather between games to add some more terrain and paint the stuff I already got

Why not add some barricades? Put together the barrels and crates from the battlefield accessories set and pile them up! That's what we do at our game nights.

I've been looking at some cheap non gw terain that might fit well with Necromunda.

The platforms from this look quite good (and are affordable).

These are really cheap, but they need some work. Link

These should help out if you have any money left and want some more small bits

Oh yea totally! Those are perfect we took a look at that site last time you were here fawful if im not mistaken? Sit was down that time though...

What im talking about though is small terrain pieces like barrels and crates. Small things that you can interchange and switch around every game whilst adding something none the less

That said I liked the look of some pieces that you showed me, like the satelite dish. Looked really nice and would also fit in really nicely on a 40K table

If you want small bits try the battlefield terrain accessories set GW does. Should fulfil your desire for crates and barrels.

Nah, that was another terrain maker, though they still haven't gotten the site back up again. It might be worth taking a look at the how to build terrain book from GW since that has a lot of smaller pieces made from pretty much everything you can imagine.

    Re: Demo's necromunda blog!

Oh dont worrym, I already GOT that book (should be here somewhere anyway )
Thats the reason ive got an empty catfood tin on an empty cd-rom its still WIP but should become a generator tower (or grain silo, not sure what it was...)

How do you think the battles are going with regards to cover fawful? Do you think we need more terrain or am I just seeing things? Considering how hard it is to get in decent cover I think weve either got to much elevated terrain or need more cover in the shape of small features like crates and barrels...

Mind im still trying to figure out how to add some gantries to the table, which might help with creating cover against elevated gangers.
