Hey folks. Sorry there's been no update for a while, I've been pretty busy. I am painting a Vindicator and also a Lucius the Eternal at the moment which I am planning on entering in the hero painting competition at my local GW (it's my way of getting myself in there and hopefully start playing again). I'll post some pictures of them once they're done unless anybody is interested in WIP pics.

Yeah, WiP it up mate, i always like seeing how things progress. I had forgotten all about that in-store painting comp - sadly the poor state of GW Swindon these days doesnt really intice me into going in and entering.

Thanks for the interest! As requested here are some WIP pics of the Vindicator and Lucius. Vindicator was sprayed Red and has been quartered blue with some metal bits and some shading done. This might take me a while to paint as I do not like painting tanks at all! I started painted my Land Raider a while ago and ballsed it up by putting shades all over it and it just left streaky bits so I had to strip it. Have just painted the shading in to this and it looks better. Luckily all the boring stuff is done so I can concentrate on the fun bits of painting. The pink on Lucius is finished but that's about it. The skin will have a yellow shade and probably a thinned down red and then I need to paint the eyes/mouths.
My local GW (Cambridge) seems pretty cool. Have been in their twice over the past week to paint and the guys seem friendly enough although haven't talked to me too much. Guess I just need to get my face known a bit more and there's always that balancing act between getting to know people and being overbearing (from me and the staff)! But as I said, I don't really play any more (not played regularly since we worked for GW Cardiff JD) and do want to start playing again as I keep collecting armies which just get painted and sit in cases!

i see where your coming from with the not liking to paint tanks i have had my BaneBlade since about a month after they came out and still havn't finished it but now i have an air brush i might get round to it nice log so far looking forward to seeing more
An update! Sorry I've been so slack. I had some really bad news which knocked me for six so wasn't up for doing anything. Have managed to get some painting done over the last couple of days though and have finished my Lucius the Eternal. I bought this as I've been (re)reading the Horus Heresy books and I really like Lucius and had intended to submit it to the GW Cambridge hero painting competition last month as my way of getting myself to go in there and start playing again. Didn't get it done in time for the competition in the end but I did enjoy painting this and I may expand to have a small Emperor's Children army at some point. I'm pretty pleased with this although the combat drugs on the back need some touching up (the black line on the right one in particular I noticed after taking pictures). I had tried painting them as glass following the guide from the 'Eavy Metal Masterclass book but it didn't go very well. I am also beginning to hate The Army Painter Varnish as a few times it's left a white dust on parts of my miniatures, especially on the metallics which it did with this.
Anyways, enough waffle, here's some pictures.

Guess what, this plog isn't dead!!! So, over two months since I've posted anything, that's pretty lame..... Been a lot of stuff going on for me lately but I've finally managed to finish the Vindicator so here are some pictures. As always any feedback is appreciated. Hope to be investing in a cheap light box and tripod soon to I can start taking better pictures (nothing too expensive as I'm not gonna be entering Golden Daemon any time soon!). Have lost the love for my Ogre's at the moment so next up is going to be a Devestator Squad (mainly because I'm fed up with them being in bits in my case!)

nice work, how do you mount up the snow that high?
Have a look at my plogs and comment: Malifaux (new sept 2012)
Infinity Military orders (new sept 2012)
Started NIDS
Imperial forces plog (IG+ GK +salamanders+ravenguard+space wolves+white scars)
Dark Elves plog
Tau plog
Eldar plog
Thank you. It's a mix of bicarbonate of soda/PVA/Water (about 4/2/1) which forms a paste so just slop it on then sprinkle over some more bicarbonate to make the snow flakes on top (if the mixture is too wet these will basically dissolve by getting soaked into it).

Nice looking Vindicator the snow effects look really good, great placement.
The snow on the Dozer blade is so realistic (I would know), both the texture and color variation between dirty and clean snow. That's one effect you've really nailed! The rest of the paint job and the battle damage is really good too.
Lucius is a good paint job. I like how you've used a variety of colors on him, without making him clowny at all (say's I, haha).
EDIT: Also, I'm missing your most recent work. Stuff you've posted in at least two Tales this month. Seems redundant to post in two places, but when the Tales' season ends you'll want to have documentation of it in your own thread. plus, it's interesting stuff that people should see![]()

Thanks guys. I was thinking of closing this PLOG to start a new more enticingly named one but maybe I'll try to keep it going. Although if it goes for a while I'm not sure it's the best name!

Haha! (see edit above if I wrote it after you read the post)
You can also use your "The Warseer Helpdesk" to ask mods to change the name of your log.

Hah, yeah it was after I posted! I didn't realise that you could rename the PLOG, this is what I really wanted so I will try that. Thanks! As requested and for those people who do not follow the Tales here is my latest work on my Space Marine army. A heavy weapon squad with 4 heavy bolters. And also the DV Librarian which has been converted so it doesn't have those silly DA symbols all over him! I had to snap the sword arm back off so that I could do some GS so he actually had a cable running all the way up it having butchered it!

And a double post again! I have been experiencing a great deal of disillusionment with GW recently. The FC lottery and the prices of the latest stuff is really making me hate them at the moment and has turned me on to other companies. The first of which I've bought is Super Dungeon Explore. So far I have made all these and since this picture I have green stuffed all the bits that needed it and even sprayed some stuff ready to start painting. This will soon be accompanied by Zombicide (pre-ordered), Dreadball (pledged on Kickstarter) and Relic Knights (going to be a late pledger). As such this PLOG will diversify quite a lot. Also, the Skaven army that was mentioned in the opening post has been sold before I even built any of it! But I plan to give my Lizardman army an update at some point.

Triple post, how embarrassingI don't really post enough WIP pictures so thought I'd post this which is what I've done on my Stormtalon so far. Once this has been finished I will be moving on to my first batch of Super Dungeon Explore stuff. The love for my Ogre's has also been rekindled having been playing Quest with some friends all weekend and some of them starting WFB armies (including one doing an Ogre army) so I hope to start painting them again soon when I have the time.
I also would like some input on what to re-name my PLOG. I'm thinking of just stealing Solun Decius' 'Tabletop and Board Game Miniatures' as it's an accurate description but then I don't want to just copy someone else. So I need something that conveys that I am painting for several systems and companies and that I have way too many miniatures to paint and way too little time! Best idea gets a (digital) cookie!

The Space Marines look nice. I really like the whole split scheme thing. You've got the split nice and clean already on the Storm Talon.
Too bad with the triple post. While posting images of built, but unpainted minis is part of the process, I guess people often withhold judgement until more work has been done
I still like the fact that you have those SDE photos here, just to remind us that you've got that immense project ahead of you
You might also consider uploading photos in a way that you can display them in your posts full size.
Clicking thumbnails isn't a lot of work, but for some of our attention spans, its just a little bit too much any way![]()

Thanks!
It's going to get so much worse when Zombicide and Dreadball turn up (which judging by the way Zombicide keeps getting put back could well be at the same time!)
How do I do this?! I've only ever attached pictures as thumbnails!

The way I do it is use an external photo upload site.
People frequently use Photobucket. I think Flickr can be used in this way. If you google "image upload" you get a bunch.
I use imageshack.
You can also take the direct links to your warseer attachments (right-click thumbnails and do open in new tab to get the code). That way you don't even need an external photo sharing site.
You basically upload your photo, copy the text that's called "direct link" and post that in your post inside "img" tags.
You can highlight the link in the editor and hit the "img" button or you can write this code yourself:

Gives this:
I took this link from a previous post in your thread, so I didn't even have to re-upload it. it's already uploaded and has a direct link.
