    SoggyRizla's Cult of Slaanesh

    Hey guys.

I've been working on a Cult of Slaanesh army for quite a while now. I am struggling to get through the painting, so thought I would post a project log up here to keep me motivated. Don't expect too many updates this month as I'm moving house

Though I am not using a theme for my army list, I am trying to maintain a Slaanesh theme with the conversions and painting. This is so I can still use great units such as Black Guard, Hydra, Cauldron etc., as I go to a lot of tournaments. I will be replacing the hydra with a much more fitting model sometime, which is sitting on my desk in front of me, but I've promised myself to finish 2400 points before I do so.

    On with the pictures!

    'Cold One' Chariot:

    Hydra:

    Sorceress on Dark Pegasus:

    Shades:

Death Hag (for Cauldron of Blood):

Beautiful stuff so far Soggy, really beautiful. The pastel-like purples and greens look great against the grey skin and the conversions are great. The chariot in particular looks perfect, theres a great flow and sense of movement to it. Looking forward to seeing more

Sweet, sweet stuff! And a whole army of it! Great conversions, everything is obvious as counts-as while still looking really fluffy. If I'd change one thing it's the colours of the Warrior standards, it feels like they clash with the rest of the units. Not a biggie though.

Once again - amazing army. Thanks for sharing it! Oh, and chopping up that Carmine dragon takes some serious courage...

    Cheers,

Indeed, though he hasn't actually done anything at all and has moved on to Ogres and 'Project VCE'

I kinda agree; what colour do you think would work? I am planning on painting freehand on them at a later date, so the green would maybe be a bit too much with other colours on top of it. I've tried to keep a fairly limited colour palette so a bit stuck here.

I think I held my breath when I was sawing up a forgeworld keeper of secrets too for the claws. God knows what I will do with the remains!

Excellent kitbashing, beautiful painting and great basing! I like all your units but was particularly impressed by the chariot. The composition is brilliant and gives an incredibly dynamic feel.

Excellent. It's a shame there isn't a list for these guys anymore. Your 'counts-as' units work well enough though.

    Re: SoggyRizla's Cult of Slaanesh

Thanks for the link, some inspiration can definitely be drawn from there. I am definitely going to 'borrow' the slaanesh icon on the spearmen banner for my black guard, minus the skulls.

Does anyone know where that banner is from on the 'Devoted Command' pic (picture #2)?

Subscribed. Maybe that'll make me start anew on mine some day, hopefully. ANyway, it's all very excellent. What's the body used for the death hag?

White always works, especially as it would tie in with a lot of other stuff in your army. Would also allow you to paint freehand almost any colour you want on top. Same if you go with a really bright pink, like the colour on the Slaanesh symbols on the Warrior shields.

    Re: SoggyRizla's Cult of Slaanesh

I really enjoy a good job kitbashing. And I like the paint job too.

That said, is there any chance we can get some better pictures of the other Black Guard? I like the one that you singled out but it looks like the rest of the unit is full of character too and you have a good variance. The one picture you had of all of them is just a tad blurry and dark, so perhaps some more of the unit would be nice.

    Re: SoggyRizla's Cult of Slaanesh

I like everything that you've done here- color palette, kit-bashing, & liberal use of Eldar models.

Great colour scheme, good painting, original conversions and kitbashing. All in all a great plog, count me subscribed.

Lovely army. I have no idea what Chris meant when he said you're not a good painter.

Obviously a Keeper of Secrets with very large hands, show it to Diesel and ask him whether he thinks she looks anything like Dom's escorts for your next "Ask Diesel" segment.

I think I'd have tried to use the KoS's torso on the dragon. But I'm a bit mad >>
