    Possibly stupid battleship question ?

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes but I'm a little confused with the requirements for fielding battleships for IN with both the standard lists and bfa lists.

It says you have to field 3+ cruisers to field one.

Example: 2 lunar and 1 dauntless to field it ? or does dauntless not count since its a light cruiser ?

And for BFA: 2 lunar and a sm strike cruiser or it has to be all IN ships ( even though sm are part of that list with rules changes ).

    Thanks

Example : yep, Dauntless allowed for this.

BFA: yep again, Strike Cruiser counts against the limit.

In the Imperial Navy, any type of Cruiser listed in the Blue Book count. So, any Light Cruiser, Cruiser, or Battle Cruiser counts towards the number required to field a Battleship.

I bielive Grand Cruisers count as well, but I am not 100% on that, and I don't have my source books near me.

Grand cruisers count as cruisers for requirements in chaos fleets only. The bastion fleet list specifically prohibits the use of grand cruises to field a battleship. Since all imperial grand cruisers are from the bastions fleet list one must assume that even in a reserve position in the other fleet lists they must follow the same rule. This works out to 2 cruisers can take a cb or a cg but only the 2 cc 1 cb can field a bb not the 2 cc 1 cg. You also cannot take 2cc a cb and a cg as cg in imperial fleets count as cb . For instance my 2k Bastion fleet is 3 cruisers 1 reserve cruiser which allows me to take 1 cb and 1 cg (2 each) I also have a bb because 4 cc and 1 cb allows me to field 1 bb so: retribution, vengeance, overlord, 3x tyrant, carnage plus commanders and escorts.

    from the 2010 FAQ:
Imperial grand cruisers count as battlecruisers in any
fleet list they are used (even as reserves), meaning
two cruisers are required for every grand cruiser in
the fleet, and the Imperial fleet may have one grand
cruiser or one battlecruiser for every two cruisers in
the fleet, not one and the other. Additionally, grand
cruisers do not count as cruisers for purposes of
fielding battleships in any Imperial fleet list they are
    taken.

Thank's Vaaish for clearing that up for us! Also, sorry to be off topic, but I just checked out the last couple Warprift E-zines, and they looked great! Keep up the good work!
