Not sure when it started but if flyers are coming june 2nd that wouldn't be a bad guess IMO.

On the back page the most recent WD the preview page makes mention of White scars. I`m not sure how this might fit with flyers.

Ah, hey everyone. I've been looking for a new roleplaying game ever since my Lord Of The Rings-club booted me for using an actual warhammer, so would anyone mind if I pretended to be Chief of Medicine while Kelso is out of town?

It's White Scars versus Orks versus Necrons, exactly the three armies rumoured to get a flyer released next month. Coincidence?

But I guess you are right. Independant dealers will probably start to stock down on 5th exclusive materials.

Re: Official WarSeer Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition discussion thread

Allright, so this was just posted on Blood of Kittens, and there's so much here, I figured it needed to be shared.

This is all from TastyTaste, not me.

OMG finally finally my poor little site is fixed thanks for the patience everyone! So anyway it looks like I started some rumor spilling last week as everyone in the rumor mill decided to jump in the game. I hope what I am about to post is not already outdated, but with life and the server repair I haven’t have time to keep up.
Ok, let us get ready for some fun guys 6th is about two months away so let us set up some ground rules first off.
That leaked 6th edition pdf was and is still a complete fabrication.
40k 6th edition is going to be much closer to Fantasy 8th and 40k 2nd edition than anything else.
GW still has rumor lock down in place, so these leaks are for the most part things that have been seen before from previous editions of Games Workshop games. This is to protect sources from the long arm of GW.
Ok, with that said lets get to it.
Let us start with 6th edition fluff progression.
The Imperium is fracturing and the Space Marines are starting to separate themselves from the Lords of Terra. The heretical and xenophobia has gotten to a tipping point causing many chapters to take actions against the “best wishes” of many in the Imperium.
A discovery of galactic importance has happened.
At a time before right before the Horus Heresy the Emperor had intrusted Roboute Guilliman in the protection of one Xenos race that was completely immune the temptations of Chaos and would prove the ultimate key to the destruction of Chaos. The Horus Heresy ended such plans. Fast forward today with discovery of these lost correspondences, it is believed by the Ultramarines and others that the Tau are that lost race. So now instead of being charge with their destruction the Astartes are the Tau protectors.
    Rules changes
Every unit gets a 6+ save vs. all Psychic Powers.
    Random Charge Lengths are in
    Pre-measuring is in.
Random Battle field effects are in.
All armies can purchase buildings for placement on the battlefield.
Psychic powers are selected during deployment. (except Grey Knights)
Deployment and Missions types have doubled.
Get ready for the Big one..
    ALLIES ARE BACK IN
That is right allies are back in and this will be according to fluff and will have certain restrictions. So for instance Tyranids will not have any allies. Tau with all Space Marine Chapters. Necrons with Blood Angels. Imperial Guard with Space Marines. Chaos Space Marines with Demons. If it fits the fluff it will be done.
This is just to get you guys started.
Expect more to come out as we get closer to the impeding release of Warhammer 40k 6th edition.
Oh again forgot to mention in the CSM rumor post to add that Oblit options will be even more expansive with close combat load out available.
    ;
E nomine Imperator et Suus Faveo Filii et Sanctus Terra, Amen!

My Tyranid army Project Log Check it out!

Ugh, I hope that's a load of ********, especially the Allies bit.

Re: Official WarSeer Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition discussion thread

Fluff is fluff. No strong feelings either way there.

Psychic powers selected during deployment implies... Random? Crap.
I can see the reasoning behind allies. CSM can have deamons without taking up codex space. Imperial guard and SM often fight together and you can recreate historical missions. I still can't help but feel that balance is thrown out the window.
I don't see the reasoning behind making it more like fantasy.

That has to be a troll post... I thought about restricted allies the other day and I just dont see how it can work. GW goal at the end of the day is to make money, now if you single out the Nids for having no allies (as would be correct fluff wise) you are handicapping their players but I would also guess sales of their range in the future.

Allies I can believe. Anything to encourage you to buy more armies.

The fluff is crap, though. Every aspect of the operation is vehemently against moving the timeline forward, so I can't see that suddenly changing. Especially not for Tau and Marines to become BFF.

That's the thing, there is no such encouragement for nid players, singling out a single army to get nothing is something that would impact sales.

Perhaps if this is true Nid players will get something more to balance the whole Allies thing.

I like the sound of the Rumours, except the Allies bit..... balance between codexes is out of the window, especially at a tournament... That is, unless, they implement some sort of restriction... say you play Space Marines, you're allowed 2 Troops and a Heavy/Elite from an Allied Codex? Still doesn't entirely solve the problem but it's better than "you have free reign of a number of allied codexes for your army".
As for the Ultramarines/Tau mumbo-jumbo - is THAT the "discovery on a galactic scale"? I certainly hope not... Sounds like GW are just trying to convince themselves that Tau suit the "grimdark" game.

    Kabalites: Haauuuu! Haauuuu!

Re: Official WarSeer Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition discussion thread

The allies thing for 'nids makes no sense. Unless they're writing out genestealer cults. Which makes 'Genestealer' a weird name if they can no longer do the thing they are named and famed for.

Also, the majority of these rules are bad, and the fluff is important to me. I'm not sure I want to play whatever game is being described. Good rules could compensate for poor fluff, good fluff could compensate for poor rules. This sounds like it will have neither.

I don't know what to think about these rumors. I don't know why they'd be changing all of the psychic stuff; I never really thought psychic powers as a whole were too OP to begin with.

Re: Official WarSeer Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition discussion thread

What the... what am I reading? My Necrons... allied with Blood Angels... I have only one thing to say to that kind of fluff GW!... please make the Storm Talon available to BA so that I can field it in my Scarab Farm/Double Solar Pulse/Descent of Angels army

I was joking of course (or was I? Dun dun dun!), I really have a hard time with Tasty's new infos. Allies would change the dynamics of the game to such an extend, the changes in fluff appear so out of the blue (ahah, blue... Tau, Ultramarine... blue... ... ok I get out...), taking some of the random aspect of WFB that I'm not sure anybody was asking for (especially charge range =/)... that's so weird.

But as much as I fear for game balance, I see allies generating a huge boom in sales, at least for a time. By that I mean for people already owning armies and trying to add models to them. People starting new armies will probably simply plan for allies from the start and buy as much models as they would have before, except from different armies instead of a single one.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a miniature gallery!

Interesting that no one has complained about random assault moves and random battlefield effects.

I don't believe a word of it, either he is lying, delusional, has been lied to or GW have decided selling models is for ******. None of that is at all good or sensible except the one about more scenarios and such.

    - Now this Emporor rumour (God there are so many) is very interesting. Here’s the gist: The Emperor does die (physically, anyway). As prophesizeed all the way back in 1st ed (WWWAAAGGGHHH the Orks!!!! supplement), the Waaaggghhh!!! comes sweeping through human space and threatens to engulf Earth. En route, they overrun the Crimson Fists’ homeworld, and the destruction of that oft- destroyed chapter finally becomes canon. In order to save Earth, they Emperor vacates his mortal shell for good and contests directly with Mork and Gork in the warp. One of the Ork Gods is destroyed in the psychic conflict, the Waaaggghhh! is broken, and IG amd marines sweep the demoralized greenskins back to the borders of huma space. Who remains as sole deity of the Orks? The Orks aren’t sure. A religious schism fractures the entire race, dissolving the previous clan allegiances. Instead of clans, all Orks everywhere are either Gorkers or Morkers.
    Exciting stuff, eh?
The Ork religious wars cracked me up.
