(Maybe it's time to let this thread die, as 6ed is hardly news any more. I think I'll take my thoughts to 40k General.)

"It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face... and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies."
- Colonel Walter E. Kurtz
Could someone clarify this for me? As a Tau player this could be a big deal.

Specifically about Jet infantry. The way its worded is confusing and redundant.
Movement "can move as normal models of their type or activate jet packs" - what is their type? If infantry than a 6" move, if jet infantry then?.....2d6?
Thrust Move - the first paragraph makes sense. If you aren't in combat or charging you can move 2d6, but the 2nd paragraph is confusing. "When jet packs move in the assault phase and do not charge, they move as they would in the movement phase" - It isn't clarified how they move in the movement phase. I don't see where it does.
From what I can tell they can either move 6" in the movement AND 6" in the assault OR they can move 2d6 in the assault.
Could someone shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Jet and jump are now just prefixes. They are whatever type they are prefixing, Example: Jet Infantry, Jump Monstrous Creature.
I think the 2D6 is just for charging into combat. Not sure why it is worded so oddly but this is how I read it.
move 6" in the movement AND 6" in the assault OR they can CHARGE 2d6 in the assault phase.
Hmm Thrust says specifically if you are not charging.
So 6" in movement/assault OR 2d6 in assault.
That is how I read it. Seeing as how 2d6 is a gamble, not sure why you would ever use thrust, since not thrusting is a guaranteed 12"
** Took some more time looking at it, and it looks likes its 6" in movement and you can thrust 2d6 in the assault phase or still have the option of moving a normal 6" with or without the jet pack.

While I feel for the woe that is Tyranids I can't help but think that the swarms will become delivery systems for Hive Tyrants: the little critters will provide a distraction and soak up firepower while the big nasty beasts get into position to wreak havoc. This will bring us back to what Andy Chambers dreaded the most for Tyranids: that every army of them will end up having the same composition.![]()

Plus a limited number of competitive builds seems to be the fate of Tyranids. In 4th we had Nidzilla and 5th we had Tervigon spam. Personally, the thing that drew me to 'nids is the image of swarms of little gribblies overhwelming the opposition while the heavy hitters came in to bat clean up. I hope that becomes playable in 6th.

I think you best not hold your breath about the Baal pred, its on its 3rd model and still no sign of being opened up to others :-)
