Current rumors indicate that all nine legions will get love, meaning some way to play their monolegion army with its own flavorful rules and probably a special character, possibly with FOC modifying rules.

No cultists, unless I've missed something, at least in this codex. Possible WD dex for cultists and traitor guard.

^ That. I believe there was the quote from someone who said "I wanted to make an army of Tzeentch-worshipping renegades, but they kept turning in to Rubrics!"
Though my guards may sleep and ships may lie at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Yeah, the Thousand Sons are a bit problematic to get in there. They are not really suitable as Tzeentch worshippers, but due to legacy they are really hard to get around. And I think that people would get annoyed if Tzeentch get two options (Rubrics and others) and the other three marks only had the one version.

    Getting back to Termi's....

I love terminators, I look at Paladins and think thats what Terminators need to be. Tough to kill off, hard as nails. If World Eater terminators approach that level of on table power I will be one happy Berzerker.

I know this is a basic question but will chaos spacemarines be combined with chaos daemons in the next dex ?

    Re: Codex: Chaos Legions rumours

We dont know. There has been some talk of reintroducing some units, but a full on combination seems unlikely at best.

So, someone said soemthing about a Plasma Pred? There's an exterminator plasma turret for predators in the Forgeworld #301 thread. One can only hope this will be available to chaos.

    Unequivocally, No.

Rumor: C:CD are expected to get an update mid 2013. And with new sexy Greater Demon plastic kits.

I eagerly await the renewed Bloodthirster!

In the present however, are we looking at Chaos to come down after Empire finishes up? Things certainly seem to be leaning that way.

Will the Greater Daemon kits follow the Nid and empire precedent and include parts to make the Special Character versions?

Yeah, i'm the one that mentioned New Predator variants

On Terminators...i really don't know much more. I'm under the assumption from my info that the ability to upgrade every model to a Champion will be there in some form. I of all people am excited about better Terminators considering I have 264 of them...

New flyer model leaked looks "strangely" familar...

Technically these wouldn't be "Terminator Units" per se, and so that begs the question, what would the two Terminator units theDarkGeneral mentioned be in this case? Regular and Obliterator? I'd be keen for some clarification of this line from theDarkGeneral.
It's also worth noting that Wolf Guard follow a model very similar to this (and to the old Chosen), and their unit lost option is not that complicated and definitely doable. Games Workshop has improved it's codex writing in that regard quite a lot in the past several years.

I'm interested in the concept of throwing the other legions a bone on "more awesome" Terminators, but I'm just not sure it was needed. Chosen serve the purpose of the super special veteran type guys, and could easily be attributed special rules for each Legion through Special Characters etc. If this is the way they end up going, I'm just not sure it was the best way.

    Variants? Plural?

Any chance your sources could have been referring to the new Forge World plasma turret or something the Dark Angels, with their affinity for plasma, will get?

    Thanks!

If I have access to a Plasma Turret, then it will replace my current Twin-Las and heavy Bolter combo I have been running since it was actually effective in 4th ed.

I'm hoping that whatever the flyer is, it's not too much like the Hell Blade. They are very flat and 2-dimensional. I like the chunkiness of the Storm Raven, as a contrast.

    Re: Codex: Chaos Legions rumours

So more options across the board, more HQ's, 'some love' for 'all' of the legions.. A flyer..

I dunno. Seems part wishlisting part copy-paste from the current Codex. I suppose I'm a little jaded after seeing the massive reworks that the Grey Knights, Dark Eldar, and Necron got, but those are much older Codices and therefore the updates were much more radical. So far I haven't seen anything that radical in all of these rumors, which makes me worry that we're headed for something very bland, or that we're heading for something that will end up suffering like the Ork Codex did.. in that it was made for the next edition, but still had to be written with current edition in mind, and therefore suffered.

I'm taking a lot of this with a lot of salt, especially since some of the things suggested would require quite the overhaul of a couple of kits that aren't that old, and potentially ignoring cult kits that are much older.

Also, seems like the rumor mill is a little on the dry side if we're just a month out. Empire will shine for April, but then what about May? That would be the time a new 40k Codex would be released. Normally stuff gets a lot juicier so close to it. Perhaps we're wrong and the next Codex won't be Chaos?

How crushed would you all be? I'd be devastated.

Was going to ask, does anyone have any idea, beyond speculation, on a release date. I know we have the next edtion some time soon. Would GW release a codex that close to a new edition?

As for if we are wonrg, it wouldn`t bother me too much, I think. I`ve not played 40k-chaos since since febuary 2010, so a few more months won`t hurt.

Ah, hey everyone. I've been looking for a new roleplaying game ever since my Lord Of The Rings-club booted me for using an actual warhammer, so would anyone mind if I pretended to be Chief of Medicine while Kelso is out of town?
