Too bad that, so far, Chaos Marines have been denied the ability to be a close, dark, reflection of their Loyalist brothers.

I've always thought that a codex that used the image of the Emporer looking into a mirror and having Horus as his reflection, would be a key inspiration that would be helpful to both sides. Or Russ reflected as Magnus, Sanguinius reflected as Angron, Corax reflected as Alpharion, etc.

Point being, that whole mirror image type idea, for rules and background, seems to me to hold better potential than the two sides sharing statlines, bolters, power armour, and other insundry materiel. They don't feel like truly mirror image opposites to me... <shrug>

GW seems to me to be like... a trireme. One that's caught in a maelstrom, with accountants at the oars all on one side pulling for money, and gamers on the other pulling to get out of the maelstrom... and where Captain Jervis is sipping tea at the wheel, looking aft, thinking he's standing at the bow looking forward, with a wispy smile and a vacantly amused expression on his face, oblivious to it all. Who wins in the end... the gamers, or the accountants?
    Neither. The maelstrom wins.

That would be an awesome box cover if they ever did multiple starter sets. On the front have the view from one side, on the back have the view of the opposite side of the mirror.

All I can say is that if they reduce the dreadnought choice from 1 to 0 I'm gonna be livid. I have the Forgeworld Nurgle dreads, and I've spent quite a bit of time and money on them. Why would they do such a thing?

And dragons? lolwhut? I might be ok with it depending on how big they are, and whether or not I can use my MechaGodzilla and Mecha-King-Ghidorah as Titans :]

Maybe Forgeworld models are being fully incorporated into the game. That being said, why have them in a new book when they want you to use FW one. GW obviously wants people to treat FW units the same as in codex units. It's the tourny scene and reluctance of opponents to let players use those models. It could be a strategy to incorporate it all together. Just massive speculation on my part though, obviously.

I can see the dreadnought being turned into a daemon engine similar to what Forge world has done with the decimator, which is obviously a chaos contemplator.

And GW has got rid of items from armies recently. They have done similar to the Tomb kings over in fantasy who lost the bone giant, but gained a Stone giant (Hierotitan) instead. Old models are now just that and still perfectly useable.
Warhammer Armies: Empire, Night Goblins, Dwarves, Daemons of Chaos
40K Armies: Chaos, Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Chaos Daemons, Tyranids, Tau
Epic Armies: Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Orks, Adeptus Titanicus.
    BFG Forces: Imperial Navy, Chaos.

Quite possible. Maybe 6th ed will have something to say about the "40k stamp" appearing in the new FW books.

I use my Hedorah vinyl figure as a counts as Scabbiethrax (sic) in Apoc games, but I'm pretty sure the dragon was mistakenly posted as being part of the Chaos army so I wouldn't get too upset over it!

I don't think that CSM are a mirror image of the loyalists, the primarch thing sounds sorta forced IMHO. I do think that during the Horus heresy the mirror thing was a theme, but since then the factions have diverged from a common start. Sort of like paradise lost, where the devil declares that they will create a dominion of their own,, that opposes the Lord's.

Well that's not inexcusable, iot might be a annoying, but in threads like these, you can't expect everyone to read it in its entirety. It's so long that my college is offering three courses on the contents.

Did you know I have a blog? Neither did I, but apparently it's here! I review codices, write unbalanced, childish homebrewed rules, and post articles of my painting, conversions, and writing.

    From BoLS:

    "Chaos Marines
-The "flying dragon thingy" is coming. It is a flyer and one of two entirely new units added to the codex.
-The second new unit is said to be a Chaos answer to the Grey Knight Dreadknight.
-The Chaos Dreadnought is indeed still there (take a breath people), but gets a new name, and a rules overhaul.
-Hardcover book (just like Fantasy army books) "

    No source listed.

Dreadnought could become a "War Engine" with marked variants- "Pleasure Engine, Plague Engine, Change Engine, Fury engine"
"As I've always said, Wes is wise." - Scryer in the Darkness
"Wes, if you keep this up you'll need to change your name to MajorWiseJanson." - Azzy
"Many boffins died to bring us this information." - Forgeworld Announcement E-mail
"Rest assured, Servitor 13 has your best interests at heart. Now let's fire up the lascannons." - GW changes their web privacy policy.

Special characters or marked characters, depending on which rumor you believe.

Someone said it was both. <TDG maybe?> SC's unlock them as troops and marked HQs unlocked a single choice for troops. Something to that effect anyway,

I hope that the sc thing ain't true. I really don't want to have to take a sc to field my army as emperors children. Marked hq just makes more sense.
