Its not necessary. The short story "face of treachery" in the age of darkness anthology can give some great insight but not so for the audio. Raven's Flight and Deliverance Lost stand quite well on their own.

It is not necessary, but IMO you will get the best feel of the the events if you do it in thorder: audio-short story (from Age of Darkness)-novella.
