    Into the Underhive!

Seeing as I'm playing more Necromunda than Warhammer these days, it's probably a good idea to make a log of my progress!

This log will start off focussing on my Eschers and will probably later on on to other things. I have a complete set of classic Orlocks, several Scavvies and some misc Necro stuff so they may or may not get a look-in. We'll see how it goes.

Right now I don't have any pics, but I can post up some batreps!

First game was Hit and Run, I chose it thus I was attacking! My goal was to scrag one of the opposing gangers in close combat. Good thing I have Shrieking Sheila, a close combat goddess with WS & T 4, a power sword and Combat Master skill!

My opponent was a Chaos Cult gang, but most of his guys only had swords or knives! He had a pair of heavies with Heavy stubbers and his leader boasted the Melta psychic power, and a plasma gun.
This could have gone well for me, but I rolled a one for the number of gangers and ended up with only four girls to use.
    Ooh.
So I selected Sheila and Charisma who has BS4, ambush and a shotgun with all shells.
I also went with Titania, a heavy stubber armed girl with no advances and Erika, a S4 girl with a shotgun and leap.

He had five guys including my target to start with, his leader, my target and a zealot were set up in the middle of the table amongst some sandbags.
His two deacons were on the top of a tall tower overlooking the table.

I set up Charisma overlooking the centre with Titania to the east (or west?) on a neighbouring building with a connecting walkway.
Erika was on the ground behind a barricade, the three cultists in her sight. Sheila was deployed as close to the two deacons as possible.
My turn and Erika raced forward and leapt 5 inches behind a barricade while Sheila scrambled up the wall. She didn't quite make it all the way up, but they were in her charge distance.
Charisma fired her shotgun and knocked the leader down, Titania fired her stubber but missed.

His turn and his zealot left the sandbags and charged Erika. His two deacons opened fire with their heavy stubbers but missed all their shots.
In the fight, Erika ended up getting taken out of action, not good.

Next turn and Sheila charged into the first deacon. Charisma and Titania's fire was ineffective (damn cover, minus two to hit) with my heavy even failing her ammo roll!
Sheila managed to win the fight but failed to wound, with a power sword! I only need a two plus, how did I manage that!?

Next turn the second deacon joined in the fight against Sheila while a new cultist entered the table. Things went a lot better as now Sheila's combat master skill came into play and she won both fights but only took one guy out of action. Still, she had scored plenty of wounds for me!
The turn ended with the chaos leader getting back up.

My turn and Sheila proceeded to take out the second deacon. Charisma missed again, those were quality sandbags it seems.

His turn now and another two cultists turned up. Being armed with only knives or swords they just moved in but were out of sight.
His leader unleashed the Melta power and hit Charisma, pinning her.

My turn and I moved Titania across the walkway to try and reach Charisma so she could test to remove pinning. Sheila climbed down the tower and was now on the next level.

His turn and his leader left cover and found an angle with which to fire his power upon Titania! She got downed and the turn ended there.
Even though I passed my bottle test, I now only had Sheila active and as good as she was, my opponent still had plenty of frenzied zealots, novices and a psychic leader.

I didn't want to risk losing Sheila (I've lost four girls already in this campaign) so I bottled.
Funnily enough afterwards, one of his deacons now hates Shrieking Sheila! He also managed to buy tow mono-sights, guess who they went to?

EXP time for me and Titania went nowhere and got an Old Battle Wound. Charisma learnt the dive skill and Erika got plus one leadership, making her my leader now!
My original leader, Xenobia, having been killed a few weeks ago.
Sheila got tons of experience and gained an initiative boost and the feint skill! I decided that the sword I had in my stash would be passed onto her.

My second game was a three way scavengers scenario against a custom House Gang and a Genestealer cult!
There were the two gangs I least wanted to face, the leader of the house gang being the monster who killed Xenobia (and everyone else in the gang being quite admirable). That guy has several attacks and maxed out his WS and BS!
The Genestealer cult, well that had a certain, iconic, four armed alien killing machine in it.
One that took out half my gang last time I faced it. That thing likes to go for the face as he gave Lotus and Erika head wounds and took one of Sheila's eyes (this was before she was the awesome fighter she is now).
Xenobia did manage to beat the thing in combat but failed to wound. She got a power sword after that game but sadly never met the beast again. I so wanted her to be the one to put that monster down! It sucks that she's dead now.

But I'm getting sidetracked, the scavengers game. The campaign organiser wanted the gang's numbers to be depleted a bit so we would have to start forming alliances so not only was we using the monster, but the roof could fall in at any moment if anyone fired a heavy weapon!

Typically Titania's wound was playing up so she was absent. And today Lotus, my head wound Juve was feeling frisky. I mean frenzy, always get those two mixed up!

So I had my full gang and we all deployed in the corners. I had a lot of cover so most of my game was spent dashing behind it, Pondscum the Ratskin scout leading the way with Sprint.
Charisma was attacked by the monster but she managed to beat it off. She still got left behind though.
After another turn of running, my Ratskin was in a position to make a dash for a loot counter.
Charisma and a Juve, Timid Tina, broke formation and headed down an alleyway. I was hoping to get in position to offer covering fire to my gang. Unfortunately the Custom gang's heavy saw them and opened fire. Charisma was missed but Tina lost a wound. Tough little chick that she is shrugged it off. Two wounds rock!

Pondscum made a dash and managed to grab a counter and still get into cover while Erika entered a nearby building. The Genestealer was lurking around here so Sheila and my other two Juves, Lotus and Icepick, went into overwatch.
Roxanne crept forwards a little, next turn she would go into overwatch herself.
It could've been bad but before I could suffer the 'Stealer's attack, the roof fell!
It was game over so we all took initiative tests for our gang. To my surprise, Erika (lobo chip) and Timid Tina (shell shock) both passed! But Roxanne and Icepick failed and were hit by falling ceiling bits.
Roxanne got off lightly with being partially deafened (not surprised), but poor little Icepick got multiple injuries, five of them!
Old battle wound, head wound, leg wound, partially deafened and captured reared their ugly heads.

But the EXP was fantastic, having the lowest gang rating saw me gain an extra eight experience points for each gang member!
Everyone but Sheila and Titania (damn OBW) got advances!
Charisma got an extra point of toughness and Roxanne gained the specialist skill! Seeing as her BS is 4 I think it's time for a plasma gun!
Erika and Icepick both got an extra attack, 'Pick even got a WS increase too!

Lotus and Timid Tina were no longer little girls, they were now little women. *Sniff* They're all grown up now! I'm so proud!
Tina got a WS boost and Lotus got the Sprint skill. That woman now has half the agility skills in her arsenal!

Income next and I got 55 credits from my territories, coupled with my loot and previous balance leaving me with a healthy 160 creds!
But I had to pay 50 to get Icepick back, it was that or the Power Sword. After thinking it over I didn't really want Sheila to be swordless.
My settlement even provided me with a new Juve! But Pondscum didn't find any new territories.

Spending time and Lotus and Tina got new stuff. Lotus got a shiny new plasma pistol, her autopistol going to new girl Lucy. Timid Tina with her WS of 4, got an autopistol and chainsword while dumping her stub gun into the stash.
Finally I bought a Lobo chip for Icepick. I know she has a head wound and may get frenzy, but she'll probably get stupidity when I don't want it. Which would be all the time knowing my luck and the fact she now has 3 attacks!
Pondscum also got his 15 creds and went off to buy porn. Ratskin Porn to be precise! Apparently it had a fold out of Brakar's sister, but the Savage Dominion girls didn't want any of that. Except Lotus but she's a bit loopy anyway.

Savage Dominion seem to finally be climbing out of the hole they've been in for a while. Hopefully next Monday I'll have some luck and can begin saving for a Plasma gun!

    Pictures soon!

EDIT- My updated gang on Yakromunda-
    http://www.yakromunda.com/gang/3637/savage-dominion

The gang rating is a bit off as Icepick and Lucy were both free juves! Gotta love settlements!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Let's introduce the girls now! Well, girls and Ratskin.

If you've looked at the gang roster in the Yakromunda link above you could probably deduce who these are by yourself, but in case you haven't I'll do the introductions!

From the left we have Erika (shotgun and autopistol), Roxanne (autogun and stub gun) and Charisma (shotgun). Erika is currently my leader now, but previously Charisma was as she had the most exp.

Here we have Lotus (maul and plasma pistol), Timid Tina (chainsword and autopistol), Icepick (maul and stub gun juve) and new girl Lucy (autopistol juve).

Last, but definitely not least, Shrieking Sheila (2 swords), Titania (heavy stubber) and Pondscum the Ratskin!

The paint is chipping off in places as I don't have a figure case small enough. I play Necromunda almost straight after work and a bus ride into town (with a meal in between to serve as dinner) and so have to use a small box to transport them.
Unfortunately this has them bumping into each other and knocking the paint off.
So the painting is stalled until I can find a case small enough to carry around during the day yet has enough spaces for my girls. In the meantime I'll probably assemble more Greatswords.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Some interesting batreps

Small thing though, you can only tell a ratskin to search for a terretory after a WIN

On the subject of your gangleader, I thought that after your original GL dies you see who replaces him and he stays leader till he dies? I dident think that if anyone gained a higher LD they would replace him (or in your case her?)

And I love the story your gang has Ratskin porn! Priceless

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Hey, thanks for the replies!

Yeah, I know it's after a win but it was a draw so I wasn't sure at the time. I asked the GM and he said to roll anyway.

Oh, is that the case? I thought it didn't matter as they were all Gangers.

My Gangers have no interest in porn, that's just Pondscum. Dirty Ratskin!

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    It sounds about right-ish.
My next game will be this Monday so hopefully more batreps! I'm leaving off painting until I find a figure case small enough to carry my gang yet is still a convenient size for having to travel to work and then into town.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Oooo monday already? Nice! Looking forward to it

Small point about your campaign m8. You have a GMer! Use him (not in the bad way though the clean kind) im sure he will appreciate you asking for his judgement. Makes him less useless part of the furniture and more like he actually has a role to perform

One idea I might have for your gang is (if you still have one) one of those GW mail order boxes You will most likely need only 1 layer of foam anyway and if you buy some insulation foam (same kind as the GW suitcases have) you can make a special gang "container" pretty cheaply and easily

Ive found that my local DIY stores sell the stuff. And they sell a TON of it for a very low price! Its advertised as insulation for speakers though...Or something akin to that. Might aid your search for it

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Monday night is Necromunda night!

He plays his own gang in the campaign, a Van Saar gang called the Blu Kru to be precise! I always ask him stuff.

By mail order box do you mean the small white one that contains the gang when purchased, or the larger ones the package arrives in?

Batrep Monday evening (very late as I get home very late) and I've been hesitant to apply any more paint knowing that it'll just be chipped off.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

    Ah right you mentioned that

Amd you dont want to paint them because they will chip like crazy. I can see the reasoning behind that... Ive had the same with ye olde space marine scout models. One of mine kept falling over stripping the paint of his nose (and only his nose) until i got fed up with him and just left him as is and dubbed him bill iron nose

If you can manage to make yourself a box/case/thing with the padded foam you can start on their paintjob

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Well today my girls quite literally went into the Underhive!

According to our arbitrator, the quakes last week were just the precursor to something much larger. Today's first scenario saw us fighting over battlefield where the floor would fall away in sections sending any unlucky to be standing on the ground (but not in buildings) plummeting hundreds of feet. As he puts it, they take a S100 hit! There was a slim chance for survival though.

So our first Batrep. The scenario had the scenery covered with walkways and a large gap surrounding the terrain. There were four of us playing, my Eschers, a Chaos Cult and two gangs made following the DIY rules, one of which was responsible for the deaths of four of my girls. Our gangs deployed right next to the table edge in a line, bases touching the edge. The idea being to dash towards the buildings and get up before the floor crumbles away beneath us.

I had deployed by a corner and before anything else, Lotus had to take a LD test for stupidity! So guess what she did? Fluffed it, turned around and walked off the battleground. Clearly she had better things to be doing.
So with Lotus' departure I made sure to get as many of my gang as possible onto a building. Only Charisma and Roxanne actually got onto the bunker in front of me, the rest were just an inch away or standing next to the side. The other three players all made similar moves. We then rolled for what part of the table would fall away, and as luck would have it, it was mine!

As my girls were so close to the bunker they had headed towards I got to take an I test for each of them Surprisingly Icepick, a juve with a lobo chip, made the test! Pondscum and Titania made it but unfortunately Erika, Timid Tina, Lucy (her first game) and my favourite fighter Shrieking Sheila all fall through the collapsing floor! This resulted in a bottle test which saw the remaining girls flee.

Worse still, I had to make a roll for all four girls and if I rolled a 1, they would survive. I didn't roll a 1 for any of them so in one awful fell swoop I lost half my gang! Erika, Timind Tina and Lucy were losses I could live with, but Sheila was my most dependable (and favourite) ganger! She had I4 as well, damnit!
My best Escher lost to the depths of the hive.
I'm still feeling quite sad about that now.

Roxanne getting armourer and Titania earning Bulging Biceps afterwards was nice but didn't really make up for losing Shrieking Sheila. Icepick became a ganger so I bought her a sword and bolt pistol. With my remaining creds I payed Pondscum and hired a new juve called Jazz, equipping her with hand me down weaponry.
Timid Tina's stub gun (which she put in the stash after becoming a ganger) and Icepick's old maul to be precise!

Now we were in the Underhive (we must've been in hive city before) the Outlaw rules were in effect.
Me and Jim's custom gang were attacking an Arbites controlled area (not sure if it was a precinct) hoping to get some loot.

The scenario started with the arbites deployed on one side of the board. They would be in a sort of patrol mode, moving in a circuit and having to spot any movement.

I deployed my gang in three groups. One was Lotus, Roxanne and Icepick going down the extreme flank. The other was Charisma, Pondscum and Titania moving close by. Jazz the new Juve being the third group, hid behind a wall. Like hell I'm losing another green juve!

Lotus passed her LD test and would be able to move normally. Yeah, she had stupidity again. Her group moved down their alleyway, Lotus darting on ahead with sprint and finding a nice alcove to duck into. Charisma's group moved towards a building, Pondscum using his own sprint to reach the base of a building crowned by a loot counter. Jim made some moves and the arbites didn't really pay us any attention for now.

Next turn Lotus decided to wander into open ground. Damn head wound! Pondscum scrambled up the ruins and grabbed the loot counter, but three overwatching arbites fired at him! But luckily for them no shots hit at all.
The other four girls moved further in, making sure to try and end in whatever cover they could find.

I can't remember what Jim did but I'm pretty sure some shots were fired but to no effect. The arbites turn and Lotus was shot down. Pondscum was a sitting duck and was also taken down too. One failed bottle roll later and Savage Dominion had bolted. I wandered off to the toilet and had a look around the shop while the rest of the game went on. Apparently the arbites were taking each other out of action and eventually Jim won the game, getting his pick of the loot. Luckily as I hadn't shot at any of the arbites I wasn't outlawed.

Did I mention that each loot counter was a free roll on the rare trade chart? As he won he took his pick leaving me with a silencer (which I sold) and a concealed blade. Everyone but Titania got advances and Jazz got BS4 and a second wound despite having spent the game behind a wall!
Charisma's LD became 8, Roxanne gained an attack, Lotus learnt how to head butt and Icepick got feint.

I'll put up an updated Yakromunda link in a bit.

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Oh man thats some rough love If it makes you feel any better your not the only one getting the rough treatment in this game

Losing half your gang like that though... Is your GM some sort of sadist?

    Re: Into the Underhive!

His plan is to put the gangs in a position where they would have to start seeking alliances out with each other. I suppose culling the herd is the best way to do that, but so far Savage Dominion seems to be the one being culled.
I've actually lost enough girls to form a gang on their own including a leader, heavy and a juve!

Call me pathetic but I still kinda miss Shrieking Sheila! I was hoping that after a few more advances, maybe get some armour and other nifty stuff that I'd get to build a really awesome model to represent her. Now I don't even have a power sword anymore, I used to have two!

EDIT- There seems to be a new poster on Warseer using Savage Dominion!!!! as a user name! You don't think someone's been copying my gang name?

    Re: Into the Underhive!

Uhm... Ok. I can kind of see his idea but if he has to to play these kind of scenario's to accomplish it hes trying to hard

I know what you mean about missing your gangers I have it every time when they cant fight... Two in particular I hate not having in a battle, my heavy (for obvious reasons) and my juve/become ganger Meatgrinder... Really because he would do his name justice if hed get into combat every once in a while ....And I LOVE the model I made for him!

I wouldnt be to worried about the name thing m8. For starters theres plenty of people in the world who might have thought up the same thing you did (stumbled into this when naming my BA chapter beaten to it so many times...) Youd also be surpised how many people use names that I thought up years back and now seem to dominate just about every game that I have to make an account for Its starting to get very hard to think of unique (non douchy) names for my characters in games... Id just like to think that nicking my name(s) is the purest form of flattery

    Re: Into the Underhive!

That woman was almost guaranteed to come out on top once she got stuck in! She's even managed to beat a Jakara by herself. She would've put it down were it not for that unmodifiable save of hers! I'm not so confident of the combat prowess of my other girls really. Icepick is looking promising with her high WS and 3 attacks, but it's still early days for her.
